Siesta Suite #7 Suites de Mita - Boutique Hotel

Suites de Mita is a very central Boutique Hotel in Punta de Mita with fully self-contained suites, ACs, kitchen, bathroom, living/sleeping/dining area, common areas for BBQs/Dining/Views. All shops/services/beach/surfing within 5 minutes walks or less. Puerto Vallarta bus stop is less than 1 minute from front door. In this centrally located apartment, every suite is unique with a flair of combined Mexican, African & Canadian artistry or touch. The furnishings, appliances, cutlery, dishes, beds, linens and decor in all our suites have been purchased in early 2020 as totally new. Our suites are located in a quaint Mexican fishing village. So at times, expect the noise of children in the streets, Mexican music, and even roosters. But do try and savor/enjoy our unique culture here in Punta De Mita.

REMOTE WORKING - If you want to remote work on your laptop, tablet or cell, this is a great place for internet connectivity. The building has fiber optic 5G internet installed with speeds over 300MBPS. WIFI signals are very strong throughout with extenders on each floor, including the palapa -- where you can work or zoom while taking in the views of the Bay of Banderas. Our PH Azteca Montana Suite has a direct internet connection and the smart TV has cable channels.

Close to beach

PROS - location was very walkable to the beach, close to the main road, and the room was similar to the pictures CONS - I'm fairly certain I got some bites from something inside the room (I had the normal bug bites from outside, but something I think in the bedding gave me a strange rash all over my body - not bed bugs, but something else, unless there was something in the ocean that did that) ; location is also a bit in the cuts ; it's close to the beach, but in a rural area (I had no issue with this, but some others might)

Your host, Bonaventure, is a true Newfie. I was born in Newfoundland before Canada joined Newfoundland in 1949. My co-host & wife of 40 odd years, Frannie Thorburn - Polo, is a true Ugandan who was born in Kampala before England gave it its independence in 1962. I am an engineer who graduated from UBC with a degree in Civil Engineering in 1971. Frannie graduated from Vancouver Island University in 2009 with a degree in Travel Management.
Because I worked as a water & health engineer in Uganda, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia, Tanzania, India in development aid for the governments of Norway, Sweden, Canada & the United Nations plus several NGO/private organizations, our family has had a diverse worldly education. We have traveled the world and experienced many cultures. My wife, a Cultural Sharing Consultant, has traveled even further afield. We love interacting with all cultures on our planet.

Why they chose this property

For our ideal retirement nest or just chill-out location, we searched all over Mexico during & after our visits, since our first visit in 1981. We got more serious in the past few years & found our hacienda away from all the bustle, but still close to a neat growing modern city, Puerto Vallarta. We liked our Suites de Mita muy mucho! So we plunged... we bought it, gutted it & brought it back to life with a Mexican, Newfie, African Flair! If you have access to Google Maps Street View, there may still be an ole photo of what our hacienda looked like before the renos. It sure was a challenge but entirely satisfying

What makes this property unique

Every suite is unique in our Boutique Hotel. Every floor is unique. The new 3rd floor has a unique open common area for all guests to use & enjoy. The spiral staircase to the roof sends you up to the colorful heavens when viewing the spectacular sun rises or sun sets or the blue ocean.
