We had a wonderful stay at this property. The home was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, and it fit our family’s needs perfectly. The location was great for our visit to Montgomery, and the property provided a relaxing and welcoming space during a very special family occasion. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to others.
It was an easy experience and definitely worth booking again

My wife chose this historic home because she really appreciates places with history, and also because it is conveniently close to Maxwell Air Force Base. The home is in a quiet neighborhood, the rooms are comfortable, and the layout is very spacious. It’s also close to restaurants and entertainment, which made getting around very easy.Even though the house is historic, it still has modern comforts like air conditioning and heat, which we appreciated. Overall, it was a pleasant and comfortable stay.
He enjoyed the location as it was near many of the places we wanted to visit.Bed was comfortable and the house was very spacious for the two of us. We had a great time.
Wonderful location for our stay In Montgomery. It is a little over a mile to downtown. An older home that is comfortable. Michael is a very responsive host.
We rented the entire duplex and I have to tell you that this location was very nice and in a great location. The property manager was very helpful with all of our needs.
We were in Montgomery to visit the Legacy Museum and other civil rights sights and this place was wonderful. It is a spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bath with a lovely living room and dining room, full kitchen and perfect location. The host, Michael, was very responsive to a minor issue that arose and the place was perfectly clean and comfortable for a 4 night stay. If and when we return to Montgomery, we would absolutely stay there again.
Property was very nice. Close to downtown and although on a busy street, not any road noise. Easy check in and communication was excellent. Beds were very comfortable. We were very happy with everything about our stay. Would not hesitate to book again.
This is a beautifully renovated house in the Garden District of Montgomery. There is ample space and it's the perfect location to get to downtown or other neighborhoods in the city. It's quiet and perfect for a weekend getaway or longer stay. Highly recommended!
My brother and I enjoyed this nice older home and would stay again. A bit of repair in a couple areas would enhance the property. We are used to overlooking minor issues as long as our vacation agenda and relaxation in the surroundings are not impacted. We had a wonderful visit to Montgomery because everything was so close we saw more sights than expected and had some great dinners!
This beautiful house provided everything we needed while we were in town for a wedding. Beds were extremely comfortable and we had all the necessities. Updated appliances all throughout. If the neighbors are noisy you can hear them pretty easily and there was a lack of counter space in the two bathrooms (as expected in an older home like this) but regardless we loved staying here especially with the excellent pricing that you just can’t beat!
I love the open space in this older home. The host was very prompt with any issues or questions I had. This house is on a main road but the noise was minimal. The driveway went to the back of house which was a plus. The onlu thing I wluld suggesr is a few more cooking pots pans pyrex dish, replace door knobs and porch light on front and back porches. The beds were average.

Nice & clean with lots of room. Space felt like being at home. Quiet neighborhood. Only complaint (which is just an opinion of convenience) would be the bathrooms. Do not expect it to be a typical 2/2 where at least the master has a bathroom. Definitely would rent again.

Not a safe neighborhood.
Very old house, not in a great neighborhood. This is part of a duplex. Yard not kept up-grass to knees. Mold. Bugs. Woke up the last day to people fighting in the road in front of house. Here for ball tournament and brought pets. Served purpose for showering, sleeping, and being able to travel with pets.
The property is situated in the Garden District, next to Cloverdale in Montgomery—governor’s mansion is on the next street over. It’s good to see people investing in revitalizing this historic area!
This unit is part of a duplex and is exactly like the pictures. Comfortable bed and plenty of space for our family of five to spread out. Plenty of amenities with well stocked pantry, laundry, and bathroom needs. The entire place was spotless clean, which made it very welcoming upon arrival.
Downtown is about a mile away with Cloverdale (and great restaurants) a couple minutes away.
Thanks for a great stay.
This property was very nice to stay in. The beds were comfortable and the place was clean. The neighborhood was nice and very close to the Garden District. I really enjoyed staying here.
What really stood about the property was the host. He was very clear in his communication and very quick to respond. There were a couple of items that I requested for the house (i.e. lightbulb and other items) and Michael was very quick to respond to my request and brought it over quickly. It was greatly appreciated. It definitely made the stay more enjoyable.
Definitely will keep this property in mind for the next time I come to Montgomery!

Plenty of room, nice kitchen and washer and dryer. Didn’t know it was more a duplex there was another rental I assume. Parking was difficult. We were in Montgomery for AJCA, we don’t drive compact vehicles it just not doable. The beds have seen their better days. And the AC!!! Coming from barns all day and walking into 81 degrees isn’t ideal. It was well past midnight before the temperature was acceptable. I get it older home but again not the ideal situation we were hoping for.

We enjoyed our stay at Modern Midtown Retreat, it is conveniently located near all the downtown historic sites and only 1.5 miles from our planned activity of kayaking at the Montgomery Whitewater Center. There was ample off street parking behind the house and outdoor space for drying gear overnight. The house was large and very clean in an older residential neighborhood. We encountered only two issues which we managed easily; first, we did not find any instructions about using the house or what was expected (we cleaned everything we used, took out trash, ran the dishwasher and left our laundry), second, the third bed is actually a narrow folding couch so it would have been difficult if we had been six adults (our grandkids sleep with their mother and Dad took the couch). Montgomery is an interesting destination steeped in history and we thought this rental was a great value for our family get away, thank-you!

It was beautiful except for the mold
When we entered the back door entrance there was a strong musty smell and it looked like there had been water damage in the ceiling where the fan and a/c screen were. The a/c screen had what looked like black mold spots. My husband began having a reaction to the mold so we left immediately.
