The room is small but was adequate for our needs. The host was attentive and quick to respond.

The room was clean but that’s about all it was. If you’re look for a place just to sleep, that’s about all this was. The bathroom door was hung upside down, so the door didn’t close well, the front door to the cabin did not have weather stripping and you could see light, and you could feel the cold air come in. No window shades to block light, the curtains were really thin so they didn’t block light either. There was no mattress cover. Can’t stand that! The front step into the cabin was sunk back so it was awkward to step into the cabin. I don’t recommend staying here unless you are looking for something really cheep
The room is exactly the size that its listed as, so there should be no surprise when you walk in.
It's a clean and quiet space to stay. The shower was the best part! It was spacious, warm and had great water pressure.
We will be staying again for Christmas.

We loved having you stay with us and we look forward to seeing you again.
I was disappointed that the water in the shower wouldn't stay hot. There was also no ledge or shower caddy to hold toiletries.

Oh my, this is not a how we want to project our property. I have taken your concerns and have dealt with them accordingly. Thank you for your concerns. However, I wish you would have taken the time to let me know as I would have had the housekeeper there immediately to correct any issues you may have. We want every stay to be a good one.

Not great
I never got the text or email for the code to get into the room, I had call and leave a message then wait for them to call back. We didn't get the room we booked, we were directed to a different room. The room was so hot because the A/C wasn't on. The vents on the A/C to direct air flow was broke. We had to wait for the room to cool down, it took hours. There was no hot water in the shower.

The room was absolutely tiny. Ot was listed as a cottage but was really more of an old motel. We found a piece of broken blinds in our bed. The hot water only lasted 2 minutes. Construction on the property started at 7 am. There were no amenities available. This was highly over priced for being an old run down motel
This is an optimistically titled property on the Main Street in San Saba, TX. It is a fairly typical small-town motel property and the rooms are all within fifty yards of the traffic on the main road through town. Frankly, there is not much competition in San Saba. Clean and decent motel, not really a destination.
The town itself is a small town in a ranching/pecan growing region with a nice municipal park and historical museum, and a few restaurants. Nice rolling Hill Country region. San Saba is convenient for hiking in the Colorado Bend State Park, and way out of the traffic of the cities. Best Pecan Pie I ever had at Oliver & Company. The County Historical Museum in the municipal park is worth a visit. All in, it was about what I expected and it is a low cost weekend opportunity away from Austin or Fort Hood. Hiking/fishing in CBSP is the main touristic draw.

We are terribly sorry that you did not find our humble property up to par. We have taken your review to heart and have decided to rebrand as a motor lodge as to give a more accurate description of our property. San Saba is growing and attempting to be better every day. We appreciate your comments and hope you consider us again in the future.
Room gave a cozy and inviting feeling, decorated wonderfully and very comfortable. The location made it easy and quick to get to destination. I will book again at Wildflower if I ever return to San Saba.

Not the most comfortable place
The place is very small with not a lot of room to move around. The one review posted said they had a microwave and mini-fridge. Our room had neither and I had to discard prepared food I had brought to heat up. Bed was rather lumpy and squeaky. There was a 12 cup coffeemaker but 2 packets of 1 cup only pods. Coffemaker was dirty, I had to wash it. It is on the main road so traffic can be heard all night. About the only good thing I can say is that it is conveniently located in downtown San Saba.

We are sorry you did not enjoy your time with us. That room is quite small. We would have moved you if you could have let us know about your dissatisfaction. We are constantly working to improve our place.
After hiking all day at colardo bend state park, we drive to the room. It was great, day off stay, the owner sent us the room number and code for the door lock. When we had a question, we called the owner and she responded immediately.
Inside our room, there was also a microwave and mini fridge, a coffee pot and wine glasses we could use.
We are outside in the chairs, which were comfortable, and turned on the lights while drinking our wine. Such a cute spot outside the room for us to wind down .

Thank you so much for the kind words. I really appreciate you choosing us for your getaway and we hope to see you again.
As a special education teacher, my focus and specialization revolve around behavior and its impact on academics. I find great fulfillment in working with students who have diverse learning needs, particularly in the middle school setting. It is a dynamic and rewarding experience to help these young individuals navigate their academic journey while addressing their unique behavioral challenges.
Beyond my professional life, I am a wife and a mother. My husband is a Marine Veteran who has transitioned into a sales role. We have been blessed with two wonderful children who bring us immense joy. Our family is complete with two dogs, two cats, and two fish, creating a lively and loving environment.
In 2019, my husband and I embarked on a new adventure when we purchased a 1943 motor lodge. We immediately set to work renovating the interior to transform it into a cozy and inviting space for guests. The journey of managing our own motor lodge has been both exciting and challenging. Each day presents its own obstacles, but we approach them with a positive mindset, knowing that every hurdle brings new lessons and opportunities for growth.
Life has a way of surprising us, and my husband and I are a testament to that. We have known each other since high school, but it wasn't until 25 years later that we reconnected and embarked on a whirlwind romance. Our love story is filled with excitement and a deep appreciation for the second chance we were given.
Why they chose this property
San Saba holds a special place in our hearts because of our strong family ties. My grandmother, who hails from San Saba, instilled in us a deep appreciation for the town and its unique charm. Growing up, my father had the privilege of calling San Saba home, and his memories and stories painted a vivid picture of the community's warmth and character.
In 1998, my parents made the decision to retire in San Saba, drawn to its tranquil beauty and tight-knit community. Their presence in the town allowed us to forge lasting connections and build relationships with the locals. San Saba became more than just a destination; it became a second home.
Throughout the years, I have cherished countless visits to San Saba, creating cherished memories that have shaped who I am today. Exploring Mill Pond Park, with its serene landscapes and picturesque views, has always been a favorite pastime. The Regency Bridge, a historic landmark and the last suspension bridge in Texas, has captivated my imagination since childhood. And no trip to San Saba would be complete without a visit to Harry's Department Store, where the spirit of the community thrives.
Our family's ties to San Saba run so deep that you may even find some artifacts belonging to our family proudly displayed in the local museum. It is a testament to the enduring connection we have with this extraordinary place.
When we had the opportunity to purchase the motor lodge in San Saba, it felt like destiny. It was our way of giving back to the community that has given us so much joy and cherished memories. Our goal is to create a haven for travelers, offering them a glimpse into the rich history and warm hospitality that San Saba is known for.
We cannot wait to welcome you to our motor lodge, where you will not only find comfort and relaxation but also a touch of our family's legacy. We hope that your stay with us will be filled with unforgettable experiences and a deep appreciation for the remarkable town of San Saba.
