Roger’s Retreat is exceptionally well located at Fallen Leaf Lake, close to Marina, Cafe & easy walking distance to Desolation Wilderness. The “cabin” is very specious, well furnished & maintained, and an oasis of comfort after a long hike or busy day on beautiful Fallen Leaf Lake.
We had a great stay at Rogers Retreat this Summer! The home was exactly as advertised - comfortable and plenty of room for our family to enjoy. The location to the Marina and hiking trails can’t be beat!

We want to go back!
We rented this property a couple of summers ago for a summer vacation for our family with nearly adult children. We, and they, absolutely loved it. Close to everything, well-stocked, easy to access. We are hoping to rent again this winter.

Thank you so much, we love this home too! It is only a summer/fall rental though.
I cannot stop thinking about the wonderful family vacation we had at the Roger's cabin at Fallen Leaf Lake. 4 generations of our family gathered for a week down memory lane for my father and I. The setting is private and gorgeous. The lake is a dream. The property is so lovely and well designed. Plenty of space for all of us. The kitchen is extremely well equipped. We spent most of our time on the lake or the deck. Perfect!

So happy you made family memories. Thanks so much for staying with us.
I already did this. Great property, but no heat. Normally not at issue, but temperatures in first part of week were high 30's to low 40's, space heaterwpuld be nice. High 80's at end of week, which drove the ants in (especially master bath). Might review the pest abatement procedures.
Fabulous cabin near Fallen Leaf Lake, very close to store / marina. Only 2 picky points: 1) has garage with key entry, but never got to work. Probably need to assign code along with lock box code, would be helpful. 2) Shows TV, DVD etc, but no direct tv box, no satellite dish, so no tv - more important, DVED player sorta works, but picture totally whited out, so not too useful. Did get wildfire clearing instructions while we were there, which we passed on to 24 hour maintenance number.

Thanks so much for staying with us. Apologies on the garage entry and DVD player, we will look into both issues. Fallen Leaf Lake has no cable service, which is noted in the listing details.
After reading some of the other reviews , we prepared ourselves for a bit of a rundown / rustic place , but were pleasantly surprised that the house looked and felt much better than described . First of all , it was SUPER CLEAN - from windows , to carpet to beds - no dust , no cobweb NOTHING that could have been overlooked .
The house is also a lot larger then it looks , the clean and open garage was great for keeping some of our personal stuff that we didn't want to bring up . The bedrooms are spacious , the two living areas are great for adults and kids - the kitchen had everything we needed . The only thing that I might have suggested - we didn't bring any beach towels and the property doesn't provide and the tv didn't work ( or we simply couldn't figure out how to work it )
but all in all - we definitely enjoyed the house . We stayed previously in a much more expensive home nearby and one that looked much better in the photos , but after seeing and staying here we all said that THIS property is a much better home. Although some furniture are a bit odd ( a mix of styles etc ) - one can feel that the owners take care of this place with pride and attention often not seen and felt in rentals .
Definitely will rent again .

Thanks so much for staying with us and taking the time to provide feedback. Apologies on the TV, we'll look into that. Happy you enjoyed your stay.
When we arrived, we were so excited to see how beautiful this home was just nestled back in the forest in its own corner of heaven. We loved the fact that it had such an amazing view of Fallen Leaf Lake with the tall majestic trees around us. The inside of the home was huge and roomy, and every room provided adequate comfort and unbelievable views to relax. Be prepared for no cell, no internet, some books & magazines, no games, and we had to go into Stateline to shop for what we could find. The reservation said there would be games, but there weren’t any, some puzzles yes, and a partial deck of playing cards. I brought a few DVD’s because the reservation said there was a DVD player. The DVD’s there were very specific to one’s taste and not something you would provide to renters as a selection. I tried to use the DVD player at first and it would not work, so I had to put a call into Maintenance. Unfortunately, he was not available the same day we arrived. I called him the next day, and I must say he is the nicest, most helpful and just easy to work with person ever. Kudos to your maintenance man!!!! He came over that day and fixed the DVD with instructions on how to work it and how to use the functions (as there are (4) remotes and very difficult to just process the use of the TV alone with it). At the same time, he was able to help me with the washing machine knob that didn’t work either. Thank you for that!
When our family books a rental we always, always clean our rental by vacuuming, and respecting the rules of the company/owner and going the extra mile so they know how much we care about their property. We did that. However, I could not vacuum because the vacuum was broken. But myself, and my family made sure we did everything we could to clean up to show our respect and appreciation for your property. I’d like to add that perhaps it would be worth the investment to replace some appliance items or just repair them. At the same time, it would be a good idea to throw away the partial collection of old games and replace them with actual complete games for guests. Do it for the guests, they would appreciate it.
