We have just returned home from a fabulous family reunion in this beautiful home found in a beautiful area. We hiked and biked and hot tubed and played games. It was all lovely.
This house is an excellent option for anyone looking to ski or stay near Sunday River. Proximity to the mountain is excellent, you can get to South Ridge in about 5 minutes. There is a two car garage that you have access to which is really helpful if there is any inclement weather forecast. House is clean but bring your own soap and shampoo if you have a large group and are staying for a few days. A small amount was provided by the host.
The listing reflects the home quite accurately. There are multiple areas to gather and a beautiful outdoor space that has protection from the weather. The owner has updated their kitchen accessories which was mentioned in previous comments. Great summer stay. Right at Sunday river for trails and the Grafton notch is 10-15 minutes away.
A+++++++++++
If I could rate this property any higher, I would!
Great Communication
Absolutely Spotless
Fantastic Views
We have rented quite a few VRBO properties & this is by far, the nicest!
The Spa & Firepit, made for great family times outside on the deck.
I would rent this again, in a heartbeat!
Spent a few days midweek to do some skiing. The house was less than 5 minutes from the lodge. It’s located across the street from the Matterhorn Ski Bar. We had seven adults and there was more than enough room. The house is beautiful inside and out. Everyone loved the hot tub. The house came with everything you’d need, including plenty of firewood. I would agree with a previous post regarding cookware. If you are planning on cooking in you may want to bring some of your own pots and pans.
I would definitely recommend this house.
Great house. Tons of different places to gather for larger groups. Beautiful big living room, kitchen and outside that can very comfortably fit 8 adults and two children. Would highly recommend
Some of my family live in Hanover, Maine and my sisters and I planned to stay at this mountain retreat so we can all cook out and enjoy the beautiful views from Peaks. The house and location are absolutely magnificent. If you like to walk or cycle you can do so right within the area and soak it all in without busy roads. Our first night and day were great Beds super comfortable, living room views great, kitchen nice. Only criticism is limited kitchen supplies it’s like a bachelor ski pad where there is no thought of families who want to stay in and cook and enjoy the house and views in the summer.
Despite that we loved our first day. Family came to visit and we sat outside in the beautiful deck and marveled. We loved the property, landscaping and there were raspberry bushes! We went to visit our family that evening for dinner and when we got back that was when heaven turned to hell. Thousands and thousands of gnats were inside the house. Walls, ceilings, and furniture were black because they were covered in gnats. We had no defense. There were millions of them outside on the windows and doors. It was insane and a gave me a true understanding of how Steven King gets inspiration for a novel. We contacted the property manager and his responsiveness was immediate. He worked with us to relocate and although the location of our new place wasn’t as great the house was equally as beautiful and we contended with some gnats that got in from the outside which is to be expected, we were in the woods!
So, if you are looking for a summer place, I’m not so sure this is the one although the views are spectacular. My recommendation is definitely a winter rental when bugs are not to be found. Just remember to pack and bring cookware, cooking utensils, and spices if this is a family rental and you plan to cook in.
Beautiful home and property! Very well maintained and the list of amenities is long and thorough. The interactions with the hosts was smooth and seamless. I would certainly consider this property again in the future!

This property was magnificent! Every year we do a getaway with my brother's family and my mom and our young adult children. The house was perfect for everyone to have their own space, while enjoying time together. We cooked and enjoyed the hottub and firepit. We did day trips to North Conway and Gorham (for some trail riding). The only suggestion for improving the experience would be a regular toaster, and some additional kitchenware. Overall an absolutely beautiful property and wonderful experience!
This property was perfect for my group of friends to stay the weekend. Very clean, organized and the owners were extremely helpful and quick to respond to any questions. Had plenty of room to hang out, the outdoor setup was great with the hot tub and fire pit so everyone could do what they wanted but still be together. Close to anything we needed - stores, restaurants, bars, etc.
We had a FANTASTIC time! The place was so comfortable, views to die for. It was the quintessential ski haus! There were a couple things I thought they could improve - no serving platters or bowls, non-stick pans were worn, not enough pots, not even salt and pepper available. 7 wine glasses, no champagne, could use another chair in the dining area - there wasn’t a chair in any bedrooms either (odd).
If you're skiing at Sunday River, this is the house for you. Home was well equipped (outside of some odds and ends in the kitchen. If you're cooking bring your own spices) and well kept. Can't say there is anything much better than sitting in the hot tub after a long day of skiing, looking right at where you had been the whole day. We were there during a snow storm and the private road was well plowed. The driveway even received a mid-storm plow. Property manager was very communicative and easy to work with. Don't think twice about booking!
Great secluded accommodations. Very clean and spacious. Amazing mountain views with great access to fantastic adventures and dining. A+++. Would highly recommend and will definitely return. The communication was excellent and courteous. Overall the stay exceeded our expectations!
