The Space
Large 1400 Sq. ft. of living space
3 bedroom apartment. Comfortable for families. If you have children we have a pack n' play and a bin of children's toys (ages 3+), also children's dishes and a high chair. Overall we have 1 large King bed and 2 queen beds, a queen sleeper sofa in the living room and even a deluxe queen size inflatable mattress. Blackout curtains and 4KHD tv's in each of the 3 bedrooms and the living room. The new Kitchen is fully equipped for longer stays, including a dish washer, and clothes washer and dryer! New bathroom with ceramic tile flooring with a marble look finish, shower and bathtub. Access to backyard deck. Free private parking for 2 cars. (Use only spaces marked 717 in front of our garage). Enjoy walking distance to many great restaurants. Near the Metra train station, 30 mins to Chicago. Also near the Rialto Theatre, Louis-Joliet Shopping Mall, Joliet Slammers Baseball, Harrah's Casino, Haley Mansion, Historic Joliet Prison where Blues Brothers movie was filmed, New Lenox sports complex and more.
House Rules:
The maximum house capacity is 10 people so please respect our home and do not exceed this number. Unauthorized parties, guests, events and smoking of any kind are house rule violations and will result in fines / fees and immediate cancellation of booking without refund. Damage to items or the apartment, or excessive mess requiring extensive cleaning will be charged. In the summer months, the AC limit is 71 due to the older home lack of modern insulation. We have ceiling fans or portable fans to help circulate the cold air
PET FEES:
We have a modest pet fee.
If we have to clean up pet urine or droppings in the apartment or pet droppings outside we will charge additional.
We must be notified if you have animals, and the number of them, even if they are service animals. Animals must not be left unattended unless they are crated. They cannot be left loose alone in the house.
Note: You must be 21 or older to book. You must provide a photo of your D.L. or State ID upon request.

This newly renovated beautiful brick building was built in the 1920s in the Historic Cathedral District of Joliet. We are two blocks from St. Francis University, and 5 minutes from Downtown night life such as Harrah's casino, the Rialto Theater, Joliet Slammers Baseball stadium and more! Almost everything you could need is walking distance. Restaurants, shops, entertainment, and public transportation.
Getting Around:
There is a bus route 1/4 block away, which will take you downtown to Union Station where you can take Metra trains to Chicago or take Amtrak to a much further destination. Uber, Lift, and taxis are also available.

Please remember that you will be staying in privately owned apartment, not a hotel. Therefore, we ask that you treat our space with the same respect you would show your own. If there are any problems that arise, we will do our best to attend to these situations ASAP!
For the safety and security of our guests and neighbors, the exterior of the building is monitored 24/7 by recording security cameras covering the front building view of the street, the side parking area and the rear deck and parking lot.
We provide free parking for 2 cars (a 3rd space may be available upon request). Unauthorized cars will be towed at owner's expense

The apartment was very clean and equipped with the essentials for a great stay. The host responded to messages very quickly to ensure we had a great stay. Definitely recommend.
The kitchen was well set up, the bedrooms were a good size and the beds were comfortable. Great place to stay if you want to be near downtown Joliet or near the University of St. Francis.

Host was welcoming the interior was fine although hand towels , hand soap for the bathroom and Kleenex would have made it a five. The exterior was a mess! Garbage in the backyard and vomit I. The yard made us go around the house thru cars to the front yard to potty the dogs. Not found until snow started to melt!

Thank you for your feedback. I must clarify a few things. I have never seen our bathroom without hand soap. I am not saying the guest lied but our cleaners make it a point to always have a hand soap in all bathrooms.
The garbage in the yard must have been dropped accidentally by a previous guest and after 2 heavy snows where we had 10 inches of snow, nobody saw this until the thaw. The guest even acknowledged this but didnt emphasize it enough in our opinion. We never leave visible garbage anywhere on the property. As far as where the garbage cans are they are literally right outside the front door. Yes if you walk out the back door you have to walk along the driveway but why would you do that? We found this comment confusing.
All this said, we always do our best to make every guest as comfortable as possible. The goal is not to have a 'gotcha' moment. If there is something you need or find missing please let us know and allow us an opportunity to make it right. Dont wait until the stay is over and vent any fristration. We are happy to correct any small oversight because no host is perfect 100 percent of the time. But most of us try and care very much. Just read our many great reviews to see this.

The host was very helpful and accommodating. They provide more than we expected and have tried to think of everything. There were extra blankets, plates, cups and utensils for children; a pack-n-play. The kitchen was well stocked. The space was well maintained. Finally, the host communicated consistently with us to make sure everything was a promised. I highly recommend this host and property

My family and I enjoyed our stay in this beautiful apartment. The check in was easy. The host provided all the information needed to check in prior to arriving. The place was super clean which made my family and I extremely happy. I would definitely stay again if I am ever in this area again.
This place was everything as listed. Nice rooms and plenty of room in the common areas. It is in the heart of the town and located on a busy street. You can hear the traffic, but we live on a highway, so that didnt bother us too much. Would definitely stay here again in the future if we go back to visit.
We were in town for a wedding and this was a great alternative to a hotel for 8 of us coming from 4 different states to get to hang out together in between wedding activities. Spacious, clean and cutely decorated. We just had to be planful with the shower schedule with one bathroom. Very doable. Thanks James!

Myself and my two teenage daughters took a weekend to go to a softball camp in Mokena. We found this place when looking and it looked so nice and James was so very quick and responsive to all messages. Minus all the road constructions and detours to get to the house location the place was great. It was nice and cozy, real warm feeling in the home. Would recommend James and this house again for our future stays.
James was a lifesaver on this trip. We had a nightmare experience at another property and needed a clean, comfortable place to stay at the last minute for our family of five plus two dogs. It was a tall order to find a place but James was communicative, flexible, and so accommodating. The property is really comfortable and well stocked with everything we needed. Parking was easy & convenient and we had some of the best Mexican food we've had in a long time from some of the local restaurants. Highly recommend James & this property!
Check-in was easy. Enjoyed marked parking spaces. The unit was nicely decorated, spacious and comfortable. We didn't stay in the neighborhood because we were visiting family in Lockport. Very convenient for meeting up with them and going to DeKalb for graduation. I probably drank too much coffee, but hey, the Kuerig and pods were right there. We didn't need any of the baby equipment, but it looked well supplied if you have a baby.
The communication with the host was excellent! The door-opening code was sent exactly when promised about an hour before check-in time. Everything in the house functioned well. Parking was extremely tight and I had a small car! Our first night was Friday and the neighbors were noisy, Barking dog woke me from 12:00 - 1:00 AM. Loud upstairs neighbors clomping around and laughing loudly until about 1:30 AM kept us up. Road noise was very loud until at least 2 AM. Saturday night was much quieter and calmer. Most things were very clean, but inside of bathroom door was very dirty. Living room furnishings seemed cheap and uncomfortable. Overall, it was probably a fair value for the money and location.
We recently stayed at this hidden gem because we are having work done on our home. We needed a space that was clean, quiet and spacious and allowed for some privacy for our children to continue their e-learning during the day. The apartment has beautiful natural light during the day, There are three spacious bedrooms that are decorated perfectly. No detail was overlooked. The kitchen is clean and spacious and has all the pots and pans needed to cook a family meal. The appliances are clean and new and work well. The high chair and toddler friendly dishes and utensils were a plus. Again it was the small details of the space that made it welcoming.
The beds are comfortable and the bathroom with its high ceiling is nice, new and modern. Parking spaces were adequate. I was able to commute to work. Host was helpful with any questions we had. Highly recommended.
There is a nice living room area with comfortable couch and a nice work desk. The wifi was perfect for the kids schooling and remote work.

This was a great place to stay for us. We have a one year old and there was hardly anything that we had to move off the floor. He could crawl around without us worrying that he would mess something up. Also, there was a pack n play and high chair provided which was great! The host was communicative.
