About this property

Beautiful self-contained lodge in the heart of Weardale

A self-contained log cabin with a separate kitchen/lounge available for holiday let, The Lodge is set in the heart of the Weardale Valley.

The Lodge is located within the boundaries of our home, with its own private garden and access, decking area and access to a Hot Tub to unwind, which is located in a conservatory at the back of the main house with private access.

The Lodge is fully equipped with all modern facilities to make your stay comfortable and relaxing. Set in a small village approximately 300 meters from the River Wear, amongst the beautiful rolling hills of the Northern Pennines. Easily accessible by road to Durham, Newcastle, Hexham and Darlington, and equally accessible to outdoor adventurers and explorers alike.

Our cleaning policy is a 3 stage regime, to replace, clean and disinfect based upon guidance provided by the WHO and local government recommendations.

Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

Fantastic Peaceful Break

If your looking for a nice scenic peaceful break to unwind away from the hustle and bustle this is the place to go. Fantastic value for money and great for recharging the batteries. This is our 2nd stay at this lodge so would definitely recommend and will be going back.

A wonderful getaway

We had a lovely and peaceful Christmas time at the lodge, just as we did two years ago. The owner is very friendly and helpful, the property is clean and well-equipped. I would highly recommend relaxing in the hot tub after enjoying the scenic walking routes in the area :-)

Perfect Place

The Lodge exceeded expectations. The photos do not do it justice and its setting is far better then may be expected from looking at Google Earth. Emma and Lee (the hosts) are very welcoming and have made The Lodge supremely comfortable both inside and out. It is very well positioned in Weardale for exploring a beautiful part of the country both by car and on foot. If you are looking for a quiet and comfortable place for a short stay, then The Lodge is perfect.

Perfectly quaint....

Booked a quick couple of nights away in this perfect, friendly lodge, everything you need has been covered(even down to the ice cubes in the freezer, great little touch👍) great base for walks nearby but only one village pub for socialising, so hop on bus into Woolsingham couple of pubs.....and recommend the club👍👍👍(just ask Emma and Lee the host's 🍻👍) very helpful host's not bothering you but there to help with any problems 👍 100% recommend this perfect little lodge if like us your a lover of the Dales.....

I cannot tell you how wonderful this property and the hosts Emma and Lee are. The property is spotless and has everything you need I using a hot tub, fire pit and bbq! . The hosts are attentive but not imposing. Nothing is too much trouble for them. I cannot reccomened highly enough that you try this property out. Read the reviews they are very accurate of our experience. 5 stars out of 5 stars without doubt. Julia my wife said that the massage she had was the best she had ever had too. Thank you Emma and Lee for looking after us so well. We loved it.

Stay in someone’s back garden

The young lad that showed us in explained the property was very professional and friendly But could have explained more Tv waste tuned in and couldn’t get it to work Decking was told now to go on it as unsafe It was so hot in the property and only one small old fan The property was clean apart from mildew in the shower Jacuzzi was great but so dark walking back to property Bus service is good as not a lot in village

Hello Karl, Thank you for your comments. The lodge is situated at the top of a tiered garden, on the description it does state the lodge is in the boundary of our home and once checked in the entire area is for private use. With regards to the upper decking, this is something that does need replacing, in accordance to this you have 3 other areas to sit and relax. The mildew in the shower on the silicone does need replacing, which now it's quietened down and will be replaced. Once again, thank you for your comments. Kind regards Emma

FANTASTIC
