The Space:
Morning light stretches across the valley as mist lifts from the hills, and the quiet feels deeper at this elevation. It is the kind of place where you linger indoors with a drink, then step outside to breathe in the mountain air.
The cabin is set on a mountain top in Great Cacapon and is designed for couples, families, or small groups who want space to unwind together. Large windows frame the valley below, and the layout encourages shared time while still allowing for privacy when you need it.
Sleeping arrangements
The cabin offers two bedrooms along with a loft sleeping area. The loft includes beds and a sofa bed, providing flexible sleeping options without crowding the main living areas. Fresh bed linens and extra pillows and blankets are provided to keep you comfortable throughout your stay.
Living space
Seating is arranged for conversation, movie nights on the TV, or simply watching the light change across the landscape. WiFi is available for streaming or video calls, with a dedicated workspace located in a separate room with a door.
Kitchen and dining
The kitchen is set up for preparing full meals and everyday cooking, making it easy to stay in on chilly nights. The dining area connects naturally to the living space, creating an open flow for shared meals and relaxed evenings indoors.
Outdoor living
The large deck offers sweeping views across the valley, while the hot tub provides a refreshing retreat after a day of exploring or an afternoon spent indoors. The BBQ grill is available year-round for those who enjoy cooking outdoors regardless of the season.
Comforts and amenities
Bathroom essentials are provided, along with towels and hot water. The cabin is pet-friendly, welcoming dogs to join you during your stay. Self check-in with a lockbox allows for an easy arrival, and free parking is available on the premises. A private entrance adds to the sense of seclusion and independence.
The area
Beyond the cabin, the surrounding region offers year-round appeal. The Great Cacapon River is nearby and known for kayaking, canoeing, and fishing when conditions allow. Berkeley Springs is about a twenty-minute drive and offers restaurants, shops, spas, and a well-known arts scene that draws visitors in every season.
This mountain-top retreat suits guests who appreciate quiet surroundings, expansive views, and the comfort of a cabin that feels especially welcoming when the weather turns cool.
Note
The tap water often has a yellow/light brown appearance due to high minerality levels -- specifically iron and manganese. We’ve had the pipes/well inspected and there’s nothing wrong with them; the presence of iron/manganese is normal in this area, and the water is perfectly safe to drink. We recommend bringing bottled water.
Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up!
We often take our three little kids and dog to the cabin with us, so we're very family- and dog-friendly. Unfortunately we don't allow cats (we're allergic).
Wi-Fi is provided, but due to the remote setting, service can sometimes be slower or spotty. We suggest downloading any essential content in advance.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

We had a nice time at the cabin even with wild swings in the weather from 80degrees to 40 over the course of 3 days. The cabin stayed comfortable and we had no trouble with check in, the hot tub, or anything else. It was a beautiful place to stay with lots of good birdwatching.

Thanks again for staying with us. Glad the cabin stayed comfortable through those wild temperature swings and that check-in and the hot tub went smoothly. Happy you enjoyed the birdwatching — we’d love to welcome you back anytime.
The property was clean and it's quiet spot, easy to access, private, beautiful views, perfect for a short stay or a long stay in any weather. Check-in and check-out were straightforward and host was very responsive over text. There was a power outage in the area our first evening and the host stayed in touch to make sure it came back on. Loved it, would absolutely book again!

Thanks again for staying with us. We’d love to welcome you back anytime. :)
We had a great time even with the horrible fog and cloud cover the first two days. My dog loved it and we enjoyed the ability to get away from the hustle of city life. Hot tub at night was great. Pictures on the site are a little dated but overall highly recommend and plan on returning.

Great place to stay with a winding mountain road to the house. We loved everything about it but didn’t have any coffee in the morning. However, the natural light with a view supplemented quite well.
Not happy about double charge for cleaning fee, but not much I can do about it. Cleaning is not done very well, cobwebs and lady bugs were found. Lots of lady bugs, obviously not swept up from main living space. Otherwise it was great spot to just relax and enjoy the fantastic views .

Rustic cabin with great view
The view from the deck is really quite nice. Other than the view, the cabin is pretty basic, no-frills but in nice location. Here are some reasons we rated the way we did: The check in time is 4:00 PM; check out by 10:00 AM- We requested to check in early; received a reply text stating "apologies, the early check in and late check out upgrades are no longer available. For the early check in, we'd just have to make suer our cleaners are given enough time to disinfect and set things up for your stay. What we can do is send you a text as soon as they're done and you may check in anytime after." That was around 12:30. I sent a follow up text at 3:47 as we hadn't heard back. A manager immediately replied, no mention or follow up of the "early check in" request. "Apologies, the code was sent to the number on the account (it definitely wasn't sent to my number). Communication by the property managers could be improved. Safety hazzards/health risks from raised nails and raised boards on the deck. Black moldly caulk around the tub. All of the teflon pots & pans are unsafe to cook with because they are badly scratched with aluminum exposed and flaking/peeling teflon. The warming drawer of the oven had droppings of some kind in it along with remants of old food. Lastly, the fees were higher than the per night rate & already included a cleaning fee of $89 even though guests are required to clean, remove and dispose of trash.

Thank you for staying with us. We’d love the chance to welcome you back and provide an even better experience next time! :)
We selected this property specifcally because there were recliner chairs in the main room. Our dad hadn't slept in a bed since our mother died 10+ years ago. The recliners had been replaced which was a disappointment, but ours alone. Others wouldn't mind progress. Because of this, I had to sleep in the loft which was no a problem because I do geocaching and at 60+, I have been know to climb a tree or two.. But serirously, the chalet has a beautiful view and is well suited to people who are younger than my sister, me, and our 93 year old father.
We spent about 4 hours at the property when a juvenile rattlesnake living under the house (4 ft from only entrance to the house) bit my dog in the face. We spent 5 hours at the emergency vet and had to leave our dog at the ER vet which needed up costing us $1,500. When we got back to the property we decided it would be unsafe to stay due to the snakes being under the house and large holes under the sink area for mice (mentioned by owner in house manual but still leave open wall with just insulation for animals to CLEARLY come in) and other “critters” to come into the house. We slept on top of the covers of the bed with our other dog on the bed with us for roughly 3 hours until we got the call from the vet that our dog was ok. Before we left we sent a message to Tony (owner) to let him know we would be cancelling the rest of the stay due to the safety concern for ourselves and our dogs since there is at least 1 poisonous snake and most likely a nest of more under the house within 4 ft of the entrance. We cleaned as quickly as we could but since we had really only been there about a half of a day, there wasn’t much to do. The message we got back from Tony was that they will cancel the remainder of the reservation (which they made available to rent to others immediately), have animal control OR a staff member come out for the snakes (obviously his top priority isn’t safety, $$$ is), but we will not be refunded because the cancellation policy states that we should expect bears, coyote, etc. He said “we are sorry you chose to end your stay, but these things happen and come with the territory”. Ironically the 24/7 ER vet that was open on Labor Day said they almost never have dogs in for snake bites….
PLEASE BE MINDFUL THAT BASIC MAINTENANCE TO PROPERTY IS POOR! Holes in house to clearly let animals inside, buildup on fridge handle, baseboards caked in grime and dirt, grass overgrown everywhere even in “fire pit” area, trees down by driveway area but not removed, picnic table in yard unusable due to overgrown bushes. If you are looking to rest and relax in a peaceful setting, this is not your place because you will be in constant fear of what you will find outside and IN!
If this can happen to our dog 4ft from the only entrance it can happen to any person, and if it was to a child it very easily could have ended up much worse!
Very quiet secluded older property located off the paved road and onto a long gravel road. The driveway to the house is not paved and has a rock hazard protruding from the ground. The photo view is slightly exaggerated because of locust trees obstructing the valley. The possibility to walk around the vicinity of the property is poor and wild. We went to Ca capon State Park, and Resort 30 minutes from the property which was wonderful to visit. The bathroom is clean but in my opinion should be upgraded. The Wi-Fi was excellent. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need to cook and serve. The water is high mineral but the owner supplied a Brita water pitcher was was excellent to provide potable drinking water. Hot water was reliable all the time. My wife and I only used one bedroom of the 3 rooms with beds. I paid full price for all the unused bedrooms. The bedrooms have drawers but no closets for hanging clothes. Since the property is so secluded and without street lights, it is important to return in the day-lite hours.
Tony was a great hose that responded quickly when we had any questions. The property was gorgeous, great views, cozy interior, fire pit, what more. A 10 - 15 minute drive on some excellent mountain backroads will take you down to the river. Can’t wait to go back
Perfect spot to get away from everything for a few days. Picturesque views from the deck made for a great hangout spot.
A word of caution, the area leading to and around the fire pit is rocky and uneven. The firepit is on a pretty steep decline which makes it a little dicey in the dark.
The cabin was pretty much what I expected. I found the cabin to be comfortable and welcoming. The deck was the best part of the house. Some comfortable furniture for lounging on the deck would have been a very welcome feature. Also the trees could use some pruning to maintain the mountain vista.
This cabin was perfect for our quick anniversary getaway. It's comfortable and cozy and the view is stunning. All essentials are provided which makes going away for a few days stress free. We took the owner's advice and got pizza at Tony's and hiked in Cacapon Resort State Park (Ziler and Central trails). Also checked out Berkeley Springs Brewery and would recommend all of it. You won't regret booking this place--we truly enjoyed it.
This is an outstanding place to get away from it all. The cabin and the views are as advertised with things to do locally in Berkeley Springs. We would recommend this stay to anyone, especially in need of a recharge.
This property was just what we needed for a weekend getaway! Plenty of sleeping accommodations, the kitchen is nicely stocked with cooking tools, and ample seating for lounging. The location ensures privacy and great views of the mountains! Host was extremely helpful with questions and communication from the host was excellent!
Do yourself a favor - book this vacation rental and enjoy a cup of coffee out on the deck while watching the sun rise!!!
If you are looking to get away, this is the place. Lovely sorrundings and a view into the valley to die for.
Property owner is responsive via text and proactive with communication.

I live in DC with my wife and three young kids. I love camping/hiking, drinking (and sometimes brewing) great beer and wine, exploring new restaurants and shops, and traveling all over.
Why they chose this property
We spent years searching for the perfect getaway, and wanted to be close enough to DC that we could do a day trip. We fell in love with the area – and Valley Vista in particular. We love how cute and cozy our cabin is, and all the fun outdoor activities we can enjoy year-round. :)
