About this property
King's cottage by the Lake
This rustic chalet with a lake view and easy lake access comfortably accommodates 6 people. The lake is shallow and warms up quickly in summer. Come & enjoy a relaxing weekend sipping coffee on the front porch and watching the sunset at the beach or bring your bikes and explore the area, play badminton with the family, or take in a show at The Cabaret. A 15 min walk along the path brings you to the village, where you will find a cafe, grocery store, chocolate shop/bakery, restaurants, and a pub.
King's cottage was originally built by Bob King and his family in 1965 and has retained much of its magical charm. The grounds are big enough for the kids to play and the lake inviting for all to enjoy. We have built on his initiative to add some comforts making it the perfect place to relax year-round and enjoy with family and friends, young and old.

We had a great stay at King’s cottage. Claude was there to meet us when we arrived. We were happy to have been able to bring our dog along. There was great access to a wonderful trail along the lake, and into town where you will find everything you need, groceries, pub, cafes, and a pharmacy. A great place to use as a base for seeing all that the area has to offer.
This was my second time at this property and it was just as I remembered. Claude is an amazing host and makes everything easy and simple. I plan to return again in the future.
The cottage is clean and comfortable and Located 30meters from a walking/ bike path that goes to the village and all the way to Orford park. It had everything we needed including privacy and trees all around.
The cottage was lovely and the beds very comfortable. It was very clean and had a cozy interior that invited you in. It had everything we needed and then some. Claude and his wife were great hosts and fun and interesting to talk too. We loved the deck where we could watch bikers and joggers and pet walkers go by. Our dog Ellie especially loved it. We hope to be back next year! Thank you Claude.
We walked to the village, had a cup of coffee, then walked back. Loved the terrace, our dog spent hours watching people on the walking trail. Impeccably clean, comfortable beds. We would recommend.
We are three retired school teachers who enjoy traveling together. This trip was specifically designed to allow viewing of the fall splendor in the Eastern Townships, and we were not disappointed. The VRBO was perfectly located, and well-appointed. A warming fire in the iron stove in the living room was an added bonus.
Cozy, charming cottage with everything you need and then some! Close to everything (shops, bakery, pub, etc., at walking distance). Being next to the bike/walk path is absolutely amazing. Welcoming host and attention to detail throughout.

Brigitte and her family are wonderful guests. Respectful, courteous and delightful. We welcome them back at any time.
My wife and I needed to escape the city and it was absolutely what we needed. The place was fantastic... and most of all really relaxing. We enjoyed the walking trails around the lake and the quietness of the area. We definitely recommend. Two thumbs up!!
We rented this cottage for a winter getaway for march break. It was exactly what we were looking for. Lots of room. Close to the ski hills and other outdoor activities. There was also a trail right outside the place for walking and snowshoeing. The cottage was clean with lots of space for everyone and games to play in the evening. The location can’t be beat and the owner was available if there were any questions.

Jocelyn and her family were great guests that took full advantage of everything nature and the house had to offer. We would be thrilled to have them back.
The location is great: it's about 20m from the lake; a couple of restaurants, a cafe, a nice bakery, and a big grocery store are within walking distance.
For those who enjoy hiking, there are several trails for walking and hiking: some of them start in Eastman, for some others you need to drive for 10-15 min.
The house matches its description on the website (actually, it appeared bigger than I expected). Everything we needed for a comfortable stay was provided. There was even a blackboard with the list of local restaurants and bakeries (which was a nice touch).

Hello Olga, Thank you so much for the beautiful review. We are glad you had a great stay here and welcome you back anytime.
All the best,
Family of six (two couples and two seniors) for an early summer long weekend get away. Cottage was nicely appointed, kitchen well equipped, very large covered deck which came in very handy since the weather was not very cooperative (chilly and drizzle, with a couple of downpours).
Kitchen table is bar-style (high, with bar stools) so a little awkward for full meals with 6 people, but great as breakfast and lunch counter. Great bike/walking path next to property.
Short walk to the lake and dock (across the bike path, so not "in the back yard", the only "disappointment" we had), but still relatively easy to get to with kayaks.
Plenty of firewood for campfire, but be warned the bbq is charcoal not propane.... Plan accordingly.
Host was very friendly, responsive, and right next door if any issues.
Overall great weekend. Thank you Claude!
Un gros merci aux propriétaires et espérons vous revoir l'an prochain!!

Des invités formidables, très sympathiques et sociables, qui nous ont appris quelques choses sur notre propre quartier et sont les bienvenus quand ils le souhaitent.
We really enjoyed our stay at this chalet. Very clean, comfortable, and spacious, with a cozy fireplace in the living room. The location was also very convenient as we were a short drive for groceries, and also close to Granby and Sherbrooke for short day trips (approx 30 min drive). There are trails nearby for snowshoeing and cross country skiing. We had such a relaxing time, and the host was also very gracious. Highly recommend this chalet!
Super bien situé, Parfait pour les activités sportives et village très accueillant.
Super facile et j’ai apprécié l’exactitude de l’offre et la facilité du site pour la réservation .
