This place was prepped for our stay but not cleaned well at all. Pet oder was strong when we entered. We contemplated leaving but it was late so we did contact the host as VRBO suggested and she did come right away. She "re- made" the beds with new, clean sheets , replaced the maloderous towels with fresh towels, she addressed a couple of areas needing the most attention and we did stay. All the previous reviews that mention the problem with cleanliness are written spot on. Hire someone who has the skill the time, or the simple desire to clean! Thats all it would take for this place to get a better review.

Skiing Vacation

For the location and price this was very convenient for our group. The house itself is in need of attention. The host was friendly. There were multiple different types of dog hair throughout the entire house. It was gross to constantly feel I was picking it off my clothes. The dog kennels take up a lot of space, so if you’re not traveling with a pet this is not ideal. The kitchen supplies is very limited, not even having enough water glasses for the number guests that I paid for.

Charming inside/outside needs a little TLC

The house worked well for our family. Great location for our activities and needs. The inside was clean, rustic and charming. The outside however could use a little help. You need to do some lawn work and trimming. We could barely sit on the small front porch without being attacked by weeds. Your listing also needs to advise that you are right next to a junk yard. Although there is a fence separating the property from the junkyard you can still see old cars, etc. all over. Not a pleasant outdoor presence!

I’ve never had a weed attacking me on our deck but what I think our guest may possibly be referring to is a rose bush by the steps that hangs a little over the rail when in full bloom. I enjoy it and would not call it a weed but I guess people do see things differently. We are next to an auto repair shop. There is a privacy fence between us and the shop but when you go to the upstairs bedroom and look out the window you can see the old cars,etc over the fence. I have placed the bed by the opposite window so there is no reason to hang around that side of loft area as to check out the site. The house is conveniently located off the highway, affordable, comfortable, and clean. The back yard does have a fire pit, chairs, and wood and that is on the opposite side from the auto shop so no view of anything but neighbors yards from that area. I placed the fire-pit as far from Highway as possible.

Misleading Listing

I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was unacceptable. The listing described a “modern home,” but what we found was far from it.The one air conditioner was a noisy window unit that rattled constantly, making it difficult to relax or sleep. Although the property was advertised as non-smoking, there was a strong, lingering smell of old cigarettes mixed with pet odors — very unpleasant from the moment we walked in.Within less than an hour of being there, we noticed itching and bug bites. We even saw a small jumping bug on our arm — extremely concerning for a rental that’s supposed to be clean and welcoming.When we contacted the host, they offered to move us to a different property — 30 minutes away from the venue we booked this place to be near, which defeated the entire purpose of our reservation. To top it off, they refused to issue a refund despite the clear misrepresentation and the unacceptable conditions.10/10 do not recommend. Save yourself the frustration and book elsewhere

Disappointing Experience – Property Not as DescribedUnfortunately, this property was not ready for guests upon arrival. It was dirty, had a strong unpleasant odor, and did not feel safe or properly maintained. The floors were soft and uneven. The first thing we saw when entering was a black curtain with a sign that read “Do Not Enter,” which immediately gave an unsettling impression.The yard was overgrown and unkempt, and the driveway access was difficult – tree branches scraped the top of our vehicle as we pulled in. Also concerning was what appeared to be a junkyard next to the property, and back storage space packed full of junk, adding to the overall sense of neglect and lack of safety.The owner acknowledged the smell but ultimately did not honor the full refund less fees that was initially promised. We did not stay at the property due to health and safety concerns and were very disappointed by the condition and handling of the situation.This experience did not meet expectations or reflect the listing accurately. I would not recommend this property to future travelers.

Disgusting, Difficult owners

Completely disgusting and filty home. Dirty sheets on 2 beds, sheets appeared left over and not washed from prior visitors, kitchen filty, kitchen towel obviously soiled, trash can smelled and not cleaned, stivetop dirty, bug traps seen, filty bathtub. Left immediately after seeing the house. Owner difficult to reach and argumentative upon my calling her, challenged me mutiple times while speaking with her on the phone trying to get my refund. Still trying to get my full refund now, difficult process with vrbo too. Would never rent any home this owner lists. Pictures taken for accuracy of this statement if needed.

Good property/Good value

The home was older, but clean and comfortable for 7 of us. Good price for the space. The yard could use some clean up/tending. These items would have been helpful: hair dryer, kitchen wash cloth, dish towel, bathroom wash cloths, directions on the TV/remote OR state in the description they are not included. The host did not send a code for the lockbox, so our entry was delayed by 90 minutes. She did refund us $20. Make sure to get the code ahead of arrival.

Mini getaway

The house is perfect for a mini getaway. They have pretty much everything you could need. Things to know: 1. The wifi is super spotty. We were not able to connect our whole trip. But we spent most of our time out of the house so it did not impact us. 2. I recommend bringing a thicker blanket especially if you get cold easily. There is a quaint brewery in Saint Croix Falls I recommend. Also, check out Interstate Park and do a river cruise.

Happy to hear our guest found some beautiful scenic places in our area…there is so many! 😊When we arrived to clean the house the modem had been unplugged so this would explain their internet problem. We have never had issues with internet there. We do have extra blankets in a basket in the living room but anyone is welcome to bring their own blankets to our home if they prefer their own.
