About this property

Twin Bear I, a Cozy 1 Bedroom Cabin In the Woods! Spring and Summer Visits!

Welcome to Twin Bear I, a cozy one bedroom, 1-1/2 bath cabin nestled on the side of Bluff Mountain, about 5 miles, or 12 minutes, from downtown Pigeon Forge, 6 miles (15 minutes) from The Island and 8 miles from Dollywood. It's located away from the high traffic areas, while still convenient to everything you would want to visit in the area. Completely renovated in 2021, this cabin offers all of the comforts of home in a unique setting.

As soon as you enter Twin Bear I, you'll be amazed at how spacious, beautiful and comfortable this cabin is. This is a true log cabin, with chinking between the logs inside and out, giving it a charm and character not found in every cabin. There is a cathedral ceiling in the living room, with large windows, giving the cabin an open, airy feeling.
The main floor has a living room with a stacked stone, wood burning fireplace, which is seasonally available and comfortable seating. Windows on either side of the fireplace bring lots of natural light into the cabin! Cable TV and WiFi are included. The kitchen was updated in the spring of 2021 and now has new granite countertops. It includes a refrigerator, full sized stove and microwave/stove hood combination, and is full of the dishes and cooking necessities to keep you happy through your stay. We even have a Tennessee cookbook, so if you want to try cooking some local specialties, you have a place to start! There's a dining table for 4, perfect for a quick breakfast or a lingering, romantic dinner. The full bath is on this floor, and includes a tub with integrated shower, along with a new, granite topped vanity. This cabin also has a washer/dryer, so if you want to do a quick load of laundry, it's very convenient. We do provide a couple of laundry pods, but if you're going to do a lot of laundry, you might want to bring more.

Upstairs, you'll find the loft bedroom with a cabin style log king sized bed, made up with luxurious linens and a warm quilt. There is a bright and cheery window, and the bench at the foot of the bed holds your luggage. Off the bedroom is a half bath, completely remodeled in the spring of 2021, with a new granite topped vanity and toilet, and soft towels. The bedroom is carpeted for warmth, and is open to the living room below.

We do have a new, state of the art water filtration system in this cabin, which assures you that you are drinking and bathing in the cleanest possible water, without any of the trace odors sometimes noted in country wells.

On the covered back deck you'll find seating, along with a private hot tub. We have placed a basket of towels near the hot tub for your enjoyment. It's very secluded and quiet, with a nice wooded view. Relax on the deck swing if you're not using the hot tub. In the side yard, you'll find a state park style charcoal grill and picnic area. A fire pit with Adirondack chairs completes your beautiful surroundings. This picnic area is private, intended only for use by Twin Bear I. Whaley's is a small store down on Walden's Creek Road, just past the turn off to get here; they have some groceries, bundles of firewood for $3.99, and are just a charming store!

If you like to ski, check out Ober Gatlinburg in downtown Gatlinburg! Cades Cove is about 30 miles away, so if you're a nature lover or like old historical places, it's a nice way to spend a day. It is an 11 mile loop through a well preserved old settlement, with log homes, barns, and churches, along with an abundance of wildlife. If you're a fisherman, the Pigeon River is about 20 minutes away, and the National Park is about 30 minutes away. Enjoy mountain air on an easy hike along Boulevard Trail or check out Rainbow Falls Trail and be rewarded with a remarkable view of the highest single-drop waterfall in the Smokies.

Some of the other many attractions include: Dollywood and The Island in Pigeon Forge, Ripley's Aquarium in Gatlinburg, Tanger Outlet Mall, Great Smoky Mountain National Park. Walking the Gatlinburg strip is nice, especially during Tunes and Tales. The Biltmore House in Asheville is a fun day trip, as is Harrah's Casino in Cherokee.

This is a great cabin for a romantic getaway; there's lots to do in the area, and it's a nice spot if you just want a little down time. If you have a friend who would like to visit at the same time, Twin Bear II, VRBO # 2187893, is right next door. The listing is www.vrbo.com/2187893 With an easy walking path between the two, this is a fine place for friends to vacation together, while still retaining privacy.

A couple of important things to note:

We do not offer refunds due to weather. We would highly recommend trip insurance to protect your vacation.

Rates are subject to change at any time before a reservation is confirmed.

Fireplace is in operation from October 1 to March 31st only. The fire pit is available year round.

Husband's Birthday Weekend
I booked this VRBO for my Husband's birthday weekend. The cabin had a unique A-Frame structure. The couch and kitchen chairs were not comfortable to sit on (from the perspective of a plus size individual). The King Size Bed and a recliner in the den area were very comfortable to relax and sleep in. The hot tub was my favorite feature of this cabin! One of our neighbors were very loud during evenings as of it was a group of college students celebrating spring break. We had no cell service when we arrived at the cabin to check in. We only drove about 1-2 miles away from the cabin to regain cell service to pull up the instructions to check in (which I can say was a fault of my own because prior VRBOs we have booked usually didnt require us to pull up a code to use for entry, but instead had the door unlocked with a set of keys for us to access in the home). We didn’t require any assistance from the host during our stay. Their was a guest book that was overfilled, but my Husband managed to find a spot to write an entry before we left the cabin to head home. I rated this VRBO 4/5 overall because I didn’t feel comfortable with some of the furniture during the entire stay as well as the lack of cell service and loud neighbors. The cabin did have the password for WIFI network available in the cabin! My Husband enjoyed burning cedar in the firepit outside below the cabin. There was also a fireplace in the cabin which we did not use but the flue was opened upon our arrival.

Anniversary Trip
My wife and I stayed here for our 12th wedding anniversary. It's a beautiful cozy cabin in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Close to Pigeon Forge, as well close to the "backdoor" entrance for Cades Cove and Gatlinburg. A++
