We loved our stay in this amazing home. The sunrise and sunset view are unbelievable. It was perfect for our family vacation and super close to Arroyo Seco and the Taos Ski Valley.

We appreciate our guests. And we welcome the diversity of Taos, i.e., older & newer homes and one mobile home & several million dollar homes which surround us.

Fantastic Family Ski Trip
This house was super clean ... and literally had everything we wanted/needed. The house, appliances, and furnishings are all in great condition. We just can't speak to how the owners would address any issues/problems ... because we didn't have any!

Awesome ski vacation
Overall another great experience at Casa Buena Vista. We stayed there two years ago and came back after a great experience. We were not disappointed. Rick and Anne have such a wonderful home in a great location, and really make sure you feel at home. The location is perfect between the town and the ski valley. After a long day up in the mountains skiing, we headed back to the quiet home, lit a fire in the kiva, had a nice home cooked meal and roasted marshmallows for smores with the kids. It's the perfect setup and we will be back for sure.

Wonderful stay, great home and helpful hosts
My family had a wonderful stay here for New Year's week, and we'd highly recommend it.
The location is very convenient if you plan to ski or explore the mountains but still want to drive into town – it’s halfway between the town of Taos and Taos Ski Valley. The home is private and peaceful, adjacent to an open grazing field with a backdrop of mountains.
When we weren't skiing or exploring the area, we enjoyed the kiva (wood-burning fireplace) and cooking in the well-stocked kitchen. The house is clean, comfortably furnished and well cared-for.
The hosts are super-responsive and helpful and answered all our questions within minutes.

Amazing!
This was by far the best location and best home we have stayed in for our family ski trip near TSV, and we go yearly. The bed linens, the layout of the home, they have all the extras you forget about when you are packing and it just makes the stay and trip so much smoother. We will rent here every year. Our 4 kids and us fit in this house perfectly, and everyone having their own space when you come in after long days skiing is such a plus. They are also extremely responsive to answer quick questions. Truly a gem.

Our fourth stay at this property!
We've stayed at this property 4 times in the last 3 years. I just can't say enough about the owners of the property and the property itself. Both are WAAY above the norm for Home Away rentals and I would actually say that they are superlative.
When it's time to go back to this area there is absolutely no debate for us. We look to see if this specific property is available and if it is we book it. No questions asked. You truly would be hard pressed to find another rental as well equipped and with as lovely a view. We will indeed go back when we have the opportunity.

This house could not be more wonderful and charming.
You come up a beautiful winding road heading north towards Arroyo Seco, passing humble abodes and million dollar properties and an old spanish cemetery decorated with lights and flowers. It is straight out of the painting of northern New Mexico. As you turn down the entrance, the view is stunning and the humble driveway hides charming Adobe with a huge empty field for a clear view of the Taos Mountains. The house is super cute with large bedrooms and a nice den that the kids loved. The kitchen is well equipped and the laundry room and storage are a big help for spring break. Our hosts where consistently checking in during the snow storm and could not have been more accommodating. I would totally recommend this house!

Wonderful guests & family and we would wholeheartedly welcome them back!!!
We had the best time at this place. It is located in between the ski valley and Taos in a quiet area with great star views. The kitchen was great for cooking and we had many a good card game on the dining table. Slept four comfortably and our brother-in-law has a nice snooze on the futon. I loved having the office area to catch up on some work, and the wifi worked great. We watched movies using the surround sound system and it was quite the viewing experience. I could not recommend this place more for a family or a group of dedicated snowboarders. We enjoyed our morning walks over to Arroyo Seco to get some delicious sandwiches and burritos at the Taos Cow. Finally, Richard was an awesome host: communicative and friendly and worked with us on a couple of specific requests. This place has everything you will need for a trip to the Sangre de Cristo mountains!
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this home. The kitchen was extremely well-equipped—truly a dream for anyone who enjoys cooking, with everything we needed and more. The home is very ADA-friendly, which made it easy and comfortable for our family member with a broken ankle. The hosts even went so far as to remove the area rugs for us before we arrived, to avoid a trip hazard. The view was nothing short of incredible—like a little piece of heaven to wake up to each day. We sat for hours each morning on the porch with our coffee, enjoying the sunshine, mountains, and fresh air. The hosts were exceptional—communicative, helpful, caring, and incredibly generous. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was seamless. The beds were cozy and comfortable. There was a surplus of fresh, clean towels and linens. We had access to a washer and dryer, with plenty of soap available, making us feel right at home. The showers had excellent water pressure (always a nice bonus!) and the entire home was clean and welcoming. Parking was easy, and the area was peaceful and quiet, perfect for relaxation.A two minute drive away is one of the most delicious sandwich shops, which also had a small market with fresh fruit, including some of the best peaches we have ever eaten. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay and would return in a heartbeat. We highly recommend this home!

Another great stay!
This was our third time staying at Casa Bueno Vista, and each time gets better than the last.
The description is completely accurate. The location was perfect for us. It was about a 20 minute drive to either the ski valley or the town of Taos. The house is easy walking distance from the town of Arroyo Seco, and can easily access places like Taos Cow by foot. The area is very quiet, and the views are amazing. A little off the beaten path, but close to everything.
The house was very well equipped, well maintained and very clean. Everything you can think of needing is provided. The owners even leave a small assortment of shampoos and lotions from a local company in the bathrooms. It was the perfect setup for a great vacation. Nothing better than spending the day skiing then having a nice warm fire in the kiva.
Shortly after arriving, Rick called to make sure everything was ready for us. One of the days we had a brief internet outage, and I sent him an email. He called in less than a minute and walked me through getting the internet service working again. Extremely responsive and helpful owners. You couldn't ask for a better setup. We will be back for a fourth visit!

Great Guests Make All The Difference in "Another Great Stay!"
The house was fantastic for our family of 4! Clean, well taken care of and great location! Only 15-20 minutes to Taos Ski Valley and 20 minutes to Taos town center! Richard was incredibly responsive and helpful when we had a small issue! Highly recommend this property!
Very comfortable, well-designed house. Great for our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children), clean, had everything you need, quiet, driveway off the main road, and great sky views at night! Taos ski valley only a 15 minute drive from house. Would highly recommend.
This house was fantastic - it is a nice layout for a family with beautiful views. It is just a short walk to Arroyo Seco, but you feel like you are in a remote location because it is surrounded by large undeveloped lots with mountain views just beyond. Richard and Anne are very good communicators and they give you a well stocked house. Simple supplies like paper towels, laundry detergent, and sandwich bags are provided and make it that much easier to just enjoy and leave daily household chores behind. The kitchen is fully stocked - even a cappuccino machine, but you can also run to the Taos cow about 2 minutes drive/8 min walk away for coffee/breakfast/great green chili stew if you want to not do anything. To note - screen shot the directions to the house as cell coverage drops low when you enter the town - and while it is not far from town, the tiny roads can get confusing for navigation systems. The directions in their email they send are excellent and the wifi makes up the difference when you get there. We highly recommend.
beautiful property that had everything we needed for our family of 5. easy access to Taos Ski Valley or going to grab food in Taos. The decor & kiva really gave it a homey feel & the whole family enjoyed hanging out at the house at the end of a ski day. Richard & Anne went the extra step to provide us with a Christmas tree for the holidays & also warned us of an upcoming winter storm. Couldn’t ask for anything more in a rental & looking forward to returning.
My husband and I and our two kids, 10 and 8, stayed in this lovely home for a week during Spring Break. The home is extremely well stocked with various coffee/espresso makers, cast-iron pans, any kitchen item or accessory you could think of, and tons of spices. The location is superb if you are skiing or want to be close to Taos. Arroyo Seco is a very charming and quirky town with unique shops and great restaurants! Also, the views are amazing! We will definitely rent here again!
Clean and cozy home in a great location between Taos and Taos Ski Valley. Easy commute. Home is warm, inviting, with great views, and has EVERYTHING you could need for your stay! Owners, Richard and Anne are so helpful, kind, and responsive to any questions you may have.
Very clean cozy place with direct views in all directions. Close to Arroyo Seco and all of the services and amenities there, including Aceq, one of our favorite Taos restaurants. Richard and Anne are highly organized and efficient, and think about things like wood and firestarters for the Kiva, which means all you have to do is relax! We would definitely rent Casa Buena Vista (appropriately named) once again!

Disliked: Location
Fell short of expectation....
My family and I were looking forward to our NM Christmas getaway. The property looked nice in the pics....but sometimes pics don't always reveal the entire scenario. The road leading to the house is a dirt road that goes by a couple of junky looking properties that are quite an eye sore. There are some other places that look nice, but I would not have dared to drive on this road at night for the first time. The first day that we there I drove our van at a slow speed and I drive into a pot hole that I could not see because of the snow and the front bumper valance hit some ice that damaged it. It is going to cost me a little over $1,000 to replace it. Overall I guess the house was okay....cracks in the tile floor were a bit odd, but it was clean. Overall we paid too much or what we got, but we booked late and there was not much too choose from. The trash can that was provided for the house was full and I could not leave trash in it. Contacted Greg the property manager by text and he said that there should be two cans up the drive close to the road.. There was only one and it was full. He said that I could leave the trash inside and they would take care of it when after we left. I did not expect they were going to charge me $42 from our damage deposit for the trash bags that I left....That was petty to say the least. It is not a terrible place, but if I had to do it all over again I would only do it for 1/2 of what we paid
Beautiful home with breathtaking views. Enjoy the silence, privacy and on a clear night, the galaxies of stars above.

You can’t do New Mexico better than this
This is the third or fourth time we’ve stayed at Casa Buena Vista. We keep coming back because the views are stunning, the house is amazingly well stocked and the beds are really comfortable. And did I mention the views? We can see all the way across the valley from the front porch. The view makes my heart happy.

Terrific Week in Taos!
After having stayed in a dozen VRBOs we can confidently say that this house is well-above average. The views of the mountains all around are breath-taking, the house itself is beautiful and extremely well-equipped. In fact, we have never been in a vacation rental in which the kitchen was so well stacked with pots, pans, etc.. We ended up cooking some elaborate meals, particularly after we collected over 5 lbs. of Porcini mushrooms on one of our hikes. The owners have also been extraordinarily thoughtful in providing directions and labels for almost everything in the house. There was never any confusion about where do find or how to operate something. The only aspect that could bear improvement is that the grounds are barren around the house. But we didn't mind because our eyes were captivated by the mountain views. We will definitely come again for our next skiing vacation in Taos.

Wonderful stay, great hosts
Everything went very well with our stay in this terrific house. The house is very well equipped and well taken care of, and has a great view of the mountains. The kitchen is well stocked, including extras like an espresso machine. The location is quiet and serene, and convenient for hiking in the mountains near Taos ski valley, and for visiting the galleries and restaurants in the town of Taos. It's also walking distance to the Taos Cow (ice cream/breakfast) and restaurants in Arroyo Seco. The owner was a pleasure to work with and very responsive. Highly recommended. We look forward to staying again in the near future.

Welcome - and we invite you to experience the magic of Casa Buena Vista!
Why they chose this property
Casa Buena Vista is a dream come true!
It was in 1985 when we first experienced Taos...and the magic lives on! And we now call it our companion home - a perfect getaway with 'all mod-cons.'
We love Taos given its beauty, culture and people - rich with art and steeped in history. Home to Taos Pueblo, the Village of Taos Ski Valley and a colorful array of surrounding communities like the charming Village of Arroyo Seco.
We chose to reside in the charming Village of Arroyo Seco given its small New Mexican village atmosphere - variety of restaurants, art galleries and specialty shops - and location [situated majestically below Taos Mountain (and the Taos Ski Valley Canyon) and conveniently between the Town of Taos (9 mi) and Taos Ski Valley (9 mi)]. And there are many folktales told in New Mexico about how some towns came to be. There are few, however, which can match the beauty of the tales surrounding the founding of the Village of Arroyo Seco.
