The Tonto House boarders the National Forest yet is minutes away from the market, hardware store and restaurants. The Tonto House is in the very center of adventure. To the south there's Roosevelt Lake (10.5 miles) with boating, fishing, skiing, swimming, sailing and personal water craft sports. To the West there is four Peaks Wilderness with hiking, mountain climbing, rock hounding, hunting and off road trails to explore. To the North is the Mazatzal mountains offering more adventure. To the East of Tonto Basin more adventure awaits in the Ancha Wilderness offering hiking, off road trails and trout fishing in Salome Creek. Don't forget to visit the Tonto National Monument and take the tour of cliff dwellings of the Salado Indian people.
