Hi I'm Sherri! Kerry and I are long-time locals! I moved here in 1994 and met Kerry one day while hanging at St. Augustine Beach with friends shortly after I moved here. We dated and then married two years later at the Pena-Peck House on St. George Street in the garden!
I'm a an Air Force Veteran, retiring after 30 years in 2017. Kerry has lived in the area since the mid 1970's. He has more than 40 years of construction experience, and for a time he and his brother were custom home builders. Kerry and I, along with our son Korey, are top producing real estate agents with the Sheryl Nelson Group at STA Realty.
We are the proud owners of the High Tide Gallery, located just across the Bridge of Lions on Anastasia Island near the Lighthouse. High Tide Gallery is an art gallery that specializes in local artists, and currently hosts the art of more than 60 local artists! Our guests receive a 10% discount on purchases at the gallery. Stop by 850 Anastasia Blvd, St. Augustine, FL 32080.
They live right here in St. Augustine and ensure the property is meticulously cared for and in pristine condition before a guest's arrival. This is a passion project, much love, blood, sweat and tears has gone into making The Mermaid's Tale feel like home for their guests. Kerry and Sherri stay there a few times each year during the slow season, and it helps ensure the house is stocked with supplies and maintenance concerns are taken care of on a regular basis.

Why they chose this property
At the time we purchased 94 Park Place, the Lincolnville community was in shambles. Many of the houses you see now have been renovated and restored! The neighborhood is safe with extremely low crime rates, but back then that was not the case. The house was in extreme disrepair, and we had to board up the house until we had the funds to renovate. That time came January 2020, and it took all of that entire year to complete the project. We kept some remnants of the old house but what you see now is mostly new construction and new materials. The floorplan was also changed, as the original was a shotgun house and the layout left much to be desired! We added on the deck for extra outdoor relaxation space and future plans involve fencing in the property to give it an even more cozy vibe. The driveway used to be the location of an identical shotgun house (we call it the sister house) and at some point was torn down. St Johns County records indicate the property was built in 1910.
We love the Lincolnville District, which is now an official historic designation! It's a short walk to historic sites, restaurants, festivities, etc. If you're on bike, it's even better. The distance isn't too far. Pedestrians and bikers need to be cautious, sometimes tourists in town are driving distracted or locals may be in a hurry and may not see you. Be sure to use crosswalks! The Old Town Trolley now has a stop at the end of the street at the Lincolnville Museum & Cultural Center! Usually in the late evenings, you'll hear a horse carriage on the way back to the stables. At the very south end of Lincolnville on Riberia Street, there is a public pool, recreation center, ball fields and basket ball courts at the Eddie Vickers Park. Keep going to the end of Riberia and you'll find the Dr. Robert B. Hayling Freedom Park where you can walk paths and observe birds and marsh life that live along the San Sebastián River.

What makes this property unique
There is nothing "vanilla" about this house! We installed rustic yellow pine wide plank floors, solid wood cabinets, a porcelain white farmhouse sink, Pella windows and comfy furnishings! We've added a shed in the back to store gear like beach chairs, a beach wagon, bikes and a corn hole game set. We've also added patio lights, a chiminea and chairs for enticing outdoor enjoyment!
