A large Victorian house close to the centre of Bakewell. The house sleeps 10 people, and there’s easily enough space to hang out and not be on top of each other. Two living rooms, one with a television and the other more formal. Dining room next to the kitchen, though there’s outside seating as well. 6 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, an office space and a lovely secluded garden. Lynwood is near the end of a quiet, private road and will give you a great base from which to explore the Peak District.

The house was a great space to have all the family and they could come and go as they pleased, Ben the owner was great on answering any queries before we arrived. We had no issues during our stay. Location is 5 minutes walk from the town centre, would definitely recommend if you need a large house.
The house was perfect for us. Ideal location which was peaceful yet very convenient for the lovely town. Plenty of space in the house and the plentiful supply of kitchen and bathroom basics was much appreciated. Very good communication from the host, Ben.
Six of us (all in our sixties) stayed in Bakewell for our annual university reunion week. We were looking for a house with six bedrooms, close to town centre shops, restaurants and pubs and with easy access to walking in the Derbyshire countryside. Located in a quiet private road, this property fitted the bill perfectly -it was clean, roomy, well-stocked with essentials and everything worked perfectly...plus Ben was a more than helpful host

About the host
Your host
Hi there. I live in Shropshire, but have had a “love affair” with Bakewell that goes back a while. Over lockdown with not much to do, I though it might be fun to buy a house to do up as a holiday let (it was!). I now get through best of all worlds....a nice bit of income (and happy travellers), and a place in the peaks to use myself. How cool?! :)
Why they chose this property
Old and beautiful, but not so old that it was falling apart! Tons of space inside and great light and ceiling heights. Quiet private road with lots of parking sealed the deal!
What makes this property unique
It’s not that unique, but I inherited a really lovely well planted garden from the previous owner.
