About this property

Hartville Hideaway in the Hills - Miner's Cottage

Escape to this historic, miner’s cottage nestled in the secluded western town of Hartville, Wyoming (population 62). Recreation within minutes at Guernsey State Park, offering everything from boating, river floating, kayaking, water skiing, jet skiing, sailing, to beach activities. Wildlife is plentiful, providing opportunities for bird watching, fishing, and hunting. Hike or mountain bike the trails. Tour historic sites and archaeological digs. Dine at the famous, five star Miners' bar.

This beautiful cottage features a living room with 72 inch, smart TV, access to several streaming services, and Wi-Fi. Bedroom is outfitted with a comfortable queen sized bed for 2 and a variety of pillow options. Plenty of closet space and a full bath featuring a rain shower head.

Kitchen Amenities include a mini fridge, microwave, coffee station, disposable dishes, cups and silverware. Complimentary water and snacks are provided. Please note: the cottage is not equipped with a full kitchen for cooking. Eat at the famous five star, Miners' & Stockmans' steakhouse or several restaurant options are available in Guernsey, just 4 miles away, including the local grocery store.

Cell service can be spotty in Wyoming. If you have Verizon, your cell will work at the cottage as we have a network extender. If you do not, cell service may be intermittent or non-existent.

A lovely outdoor courtyard with seating is yours to enjoy. The studio on the property houses our gourmet Salt Water Taffy business, so you may see us from time to time as we access this building. Next door to the cottage is our personal home…so if you need anything, just holler. It is important to keep the gate to the deer fence (surrounding the courtyard) closed, or the deer will eat all of my lovely flowers.

If you are here to play…Guernsey State Park is only 2 miles away with a multitude of recreation options in addition to other area attractions such as Register Cliff, the Oregon Trail Ruts, Fort Laramie, and several archeological digs.
If you are here to work…Hartville offers peace and quiet for a good night’s sleep and a comfortable, homelike atmosphere after a hard day’s work.

Either way…put your feet up and enjoy your stay. You’re going to love it here.

I can’t overstate how nice this property is. The decor is exquisite. If you are passing through this area as we were don’t miss this place. The owner/host is perfect. Also, don’t miss dinner at the Miners & Cattleman’s Bar & Steakhouse.

About the host

Host profile image
My husband and I live in Wyoming...love to fly fish, snow ski, collect antique books, are serial home renovators...and will sleuth out delicious bakeries at every opportunity.

Owning our own business for over 20 years (a home décor company and a salt water taffy company) has afforded many opportunities for us to travel. We have two fur babies, a German Shepard and a Lhasa Apso, whom we adore.

We are polite, respectful, disciplined, tidy people with a sense of accountability to you and to our neighbors.

Please note, we travel a great deal and our response times may be delayed depending upon internet / cell service. If my response time is slower than expected, I apologize in advance.

Sincerely,
Alice & Nate
