Great space, felt very at home in Anacortes. Loved sitting on the porches enjoying the beautiful weather, and walking on the beach. Would definitely stay again if in the area.
Amazing place. Great unit, great location and a spectacular view. It had everything we needed and more. One of the best outfitted units I have rented. Highly recommend!!!

We were extremely happy with this accommodation. We celebrated my mothers birthday here and it was easy for her to move about the main level and onto the patio with her walker.
The kitchen is very well stocked with every cooking gadget you could need.
It was so nice to sit on the patio and just watch the water, birds and otters. We also enjoyed walking the beach during low tide and seeing all the sea life.
We will definitely be staying here again!
The home was beautiful, the host provided all of the necessary information in a timely manner and the views cannot be beat! Right on the water and fabulous.
What a gem of a property. Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The view is breathtaking. The home is comfortable. The kitchen was truly well stocked. Which I really appreciated. I loved the thoughtful details of having a multipurpose charging brick that we could easily plug our cords into, upgraded towels, plenty of seating inside and out, the heat lamp over the outdoor dining, and everything was good quality and in excellent shape. The instructions were clear and good communication when we had questions. I would have appreciated an 11 am check out so we could have enjoyed one more cup of coffee on that incredible deck staring out at that view.
Overall, the stay was wonderful! The bedroom situation downstairs that you have to walk through to get to the upstairs suite was kind of awkward. Also, checking out at 10 AM is difficult, especially with a toddler. 11 AM, I know it’s only one hour, would’ve made a world of difference. That being said, I could see us coming back here again because the view is so beautiful, the beach was amazing, and it was so quiet and peaceful.
Great location between the tulip farms and Anacortes on the water. Saw eagles in the mornings. Sleeps 6 comfortably. Our 7th slept on the couch. There is no longer a bunk room as the listing says. Loved the swivel chair in the living room to watch the water or talk to the family - great place for morning tea!
Wanted to get away someplace close that felt far away. Found this gem on the bay with amazing views. House is as described with plenty of room for four adults. Kitchen is well appointed, and the living area is very open and comfortable. View from both decks were amazing and right on the beach! Definitely bring your kayaks!
We brought our kids to Whidbey Island to show them the area we used to live. We went to Anacortes for a whale watching trip and watched F-18’s in the pattern over Whidbey Island NAS. The stay was so relaxing. Thanks for letting us enjoy your special place.
The place is remote and reminded me of a place a writer would love because it’s so serene and quiet. The view is spectacular! Great communication with the host who gave great instructions. Great for a family gathering.
Family get away for first timers to the NW US. Anacortes is a perfect location for access to the San Juan's and whales and stunning nature hikes. This was a lovely cottage set directly on the bay with privacy, nature and beauty just out the window. The icing on the cake would be kyack out the back porch.
A peaceful, beautiful, property to use as a base for exploration of tulip fields, Deception Pass, San Juan islands. Our small family enjoyed every moment at this wonderful rental. We are originally from Skagit County and what a perfect spring visit from our home in Montana. We will definitely return.
Great property, well appointed and convenient. It is 10-20 mins from all the local attractions and a great place to use as a base. There were 5 of us and everyone had their own space. The kitchen/living room/ dining room is an inviting open gathering space and the kitchen well equipped. The skylights and wood details throughout the property are charming. The view is as lovely as the pictures show! We only wish it had been a bit warmer and no burn ban in place so we could have enjoyed the beach more. Thank you for a wonderful Labor Day weekend!
property listed as 3 bedroom 2 bathroom. but 1 room is not a real bedroom, no door or no real privacy. it does have a curtain at night. Also This is the first rental house have rented has no W/D.

Hello Yuan-
Thank you for staying with us. We hope you enjoyed your stay overall. We advertise that there are three sleeping areas and under description talk about the king bed being semi private with a slider door and curtain and that you have to go through this space to access the upstairs primary en-suite. We will certainly look at our marketing to determine if we can somehow make it more clear for folks. As for the washer/dryer, we don't advertise access or use of any washer/dryer. It's in the garage and that is locked off as we store personal items and household items in the garage. The homes within the bay are all on very small/sensitive septic systems that can easily be overloaded with too much water use and cause a backup/run off in the yard, so providing access to a washer/dryer to guests who don't understand this system can cause the septic to be damaged/overloaded.
Beware of Unjustified Charges and Frustration: A Disappointing VRBO Experience
I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at a VRBO house for two nights, and I feel compelled to share my negative review. Our stay began on a promising note, with us being quiet, respectful guests who adhered to all of the cleaning requirements outlined by the host. However, what followed has left me extremely frustrated and disappointed.
The crux of the issue revolves around the host's unwarranted attempt to charge us an additional $720 after our stay. The reason? They claimed that we had two additional guests staying with us who were coming and going all weekend. This assertion is not only baseless but completely false. We had my in-laws over for a coffee during our stay, which lasted less than two hours. They certainly did not stay overnight or occupy any bedrooms.
The host's blatant attempt to charge us for non-existent guests feels like nothing short of an attempt to take advantage of us financially. It's disheartening to think that a host would resort to such tactics to squeeze more money out of their guests. As a result of this unjustified charge, I am now forced to dispute the charges with VRBO, which is adding unnecessary stress and consuming valuable time. This entire experience has been nothing but a headache, and I would strongly advise anyone considering staying at this property to think twice and explore other options. Save yourself the trouble and frustration – do not stay here!
We had an absolutely amazing stay at the house. The beach was beautiful. The house was clean and well maintained and provided plenty of room for our family. We hope to return someday!

The Similk Bay Beach House has been in my husband, Robert's, family since 1989. We were both 19 then and over the next 30 years we would enjoy countless memories with friends and family. We are blessed that we now own the property and can share it with others! This is our forth nightly rental property. We acquired our first nightly rental with the purchase of our Mountain house in Leavenworth, WA in 2005 and started renting that out nightly in 2006 on VRBO/Homeaway and also on Airbnb, along with two Woodinville, WA studios where we pride ourselves in being a Superhost ever since inception! When we aren't in Woodinville working, we are for sure at Similk Bay Beach house for relaxing!
Why they chose this property
We enjoyed many years on the beach with family and friends. Our children grew up playing for hours handling baby crabs, digging for clams, building forts and of course many s'more making bon fires. Our oldest daughter was just proposed to this spring (2021)on the beach! This beach will be calling you back once you visit!
What makes this property unique
Easy to access as everything is one level (except the master bedroom ensuite). Many decks to enjoy different views from. Calm bay to kayak and boat in and safe beach for children to play on.
