Circa 1838, Quintessential Southern Greek Revival Center Hall, Pool & Grounds
Iconic Raised Center Hall Villa in the Lower Garden District. One of the oldest surviving in the area, being brought back by noted preservationists to its intended use as a family home. It remains a decadent working project. Beautifully unfinished yet completely intoxicating from the moment you enter with it's ethereal rooms and grounds. A true Grand Center Hall with original floors and 14' ceilings, enormous open porches and balconies. Feeling forgotten by time yet all modern conveniences at your fingertips. Completely unique, even for New Orleans. We look forward to hosting you for that special occasion visit to New Orleans, especially if you are looking to stay someplace completely different and special. A selection of coffee and tea as well as a welcome basket of artisanal cheeses, crackers and baked goods are complimentary during your stay.

This property is super cool! Was great to learn about its history directly from the owners during check in. The pool was such a great bonus. If you want to stay somewhere historic in New Orleans this is a great option and the hosts were so friendly! The location is perfect for a family, close enough to all the action with a 5 min Uber ride but in a quiet and safe neighborhood. We loved it!
We wished we could have stayed longer and spent more time at the house. Though it is a work in progress, the finished details are incredible. The new millwork and other carpentry is at a level that is all but unheard of in the last century. The effort to thoughtfully incorporate modern amenities while preserving a sense of the home's 19th century history is amazing. Beyond that, the Lower Garden District location close to Magazine Street was convenient with lots of things to see and do within walking distance. We would also be remiss not to mention that the host was incredibly generous and provided an extended and compelling tour of the place upon our arrival. We genuinely cannot rate this property highly enough.
This place is a gem! Urbania House was the perfect backdrop to share our love of Nola with friends for the first time. The house is like something out of a movie. High ceilings and huge yards, long porches and filled with artistic antiques. The family is still restoring it so you get to see some of their Plaster Work and European carpentry. The neighborhood is awesome and walkable to great restaurants and an easy walk through the Garden District or on Magazine Street. Only a block away from a nice park with huge oak trees and fountains surrounded by mansions. Restaurants nearby are great and our favorite for breakfast was Surries which was literally like 200 yards away. Patsy and her family are wonderful and greeted us on the back porch for a sip ;) and wonderful tips on the neighborhood and history of the house (which may or not have a friendly ghost;) oh, also there is a fantastic old pool with a dark bottom which was a great way to relax and cool off. One of the highlights was Miss Patsy teaching us how to make her traditional Carolina BBQ sauce in her gorgeous kitchen. We will be back!
Such a wonderful experience provided by our hosts. From the moment we were welcomed by William to the lovely flowers and home baked chocolate cake by Patsy waiting for us in the kitchen, we knew we’d selected the right home for this special occasion. The home has character and charm and is nestled in a quiet neighborhood close to everything. This house truly is a piece of old New Orleans but with the comforts of the modern day. I can’t recommend this house or the hosts enough. A solid 10 in my book.
We had a wonderful stay at this is unique home for a girls weekend. The hosts were kind, helpful and responsive, I highly recommend this house, great location.
William and Jules provided our family with an excellent stay in Nola. Their home is filled with furniture, fixtures and all sorts of unique details collected to create a one of a kind stay. Various parts of the home are a work in process, but that did not take away from what we found to be a comfortable and unique environment in a safe and remarkably convenient neightborhood. We look forward to returning.
We had a unforgettable trip to New Orleans thanks to this incredible home and generous host. Banks immediately made us feel welcome and was always available to answer our questions and offer recommendations. The location was perfect. It was a close walk to great cafes and shops. The house itself was beautiful, comfortable and clean. We enjoyed cooking meals in the amazing kitchen and eating them on the lovely porch. If we go back to NOLA we would definitely stay at this house again!
So much more than a house! Will and Jules are generous hosts who have created such a special and beautiful New Orleans experience for their guests - it was the perfect home for a 4 night getaway with friends for a big bday. The architecture, beautiful interior design, antiques + treasures, and collected, creative quirks were so appreciated. Lots of hang out zones, comfy beds, and attention to detail that feels more boutique hotel than I’ve seen in any rental! There is so much to do and see within walking distance and everything else is a short ride away. We packed so much in 4 days! They provided tons of great recs for food, drinks, and activities to be sure your NOLA stay is special. Perfect stay. Would definitely return!
What an amazing experience to stay at this wonderfully unique and truly delicious home!
We loved every single minute of our time there. There are quirks aplenty, architectural delights, yummy surprises and the location is perfection. If you are looking for an RH designer cookie-cutter place to stay in New Orleans - well, you should just skip right on by this listing. BUT...if you are looking for a one in a million experience in a one-of-a-kind New Orleans GORGEOUS home (in a little bit of continual progress - which 100% adds to the charm - architectural collections abounding!) then this IS the place for you. There isn't a single place to look that doesn't have something interesting, wonderful and fun.
Thanks to the owners for letting us share in this home of yours. Thanks for making us feel like friends and not renters. Thanks for always being available. And especially, thanks for sharing with us the stories of your home - which we adored. We had so much fun (and if you ever need any photos of your home - we have a million!).
We had a family getaway and this property was amazing! Comfortable, historic home with beautiful modern upgrades was wonderful. Great location for all the things we wanted to see and do, and owners were absolutely the definition of Southern hospitality. New Orleans never disappoints and Urbania House was dreamy!
Loved staying at this historic home. It was everything I thought it would be. Big, beautiful and unique. The hosts Jules and William were awesome. Very hospitable and kind. I would recommend this wonderful house to anyone who wants to stay in a beautiful , unique New Orleans home. It made our trip with family so much better.
Banks and Jules thank you for the use of your beautiful home. It was a perfect home for our crew and walking distance to any where. Loved it will be back
Great home for 3-5 couples to spend a long weekend in and about NOLA. Great walking access to the FQ and garden district. Loved sitting on the front and back porches in the breeze. Loved the history of the home. Great owner hospitality and restaurant recommendations. Thanks Banks and Jules!
We had a wonderful stay and the house was everything we expected and more. We were looking for a quintessential NOLA house with a great location and we got it. The house was well equipped, spacious and the owners were wonderful.
William and Jules are the best hosts! If I could give them 10 stars I would. Checking and out were so easy. The property was wonderful and so comfortable. The neighborhood is walkable to shops and restaurants. Would 100% stay here again! If you are planning a group trip this is where you need to stay!
The property is an antique Greek Revival that has been used in major movies taking place in New Orleans. It is great to be immersed in this historic place while bathing in all that the city as to offer. Host were wonderfully accommodating and available.
We had a great time in this house. Everything was super clean, beds comfortable and the kitchen had everything you’ll need. The house itself was amazing, plenty of inside and outside spaces to hang out. Great location, not too far from everywhere we wanted to go and plenty of places to walk to as well
We had a group in town for a wedding. The wedding events took most of our time but when we had time at the house we really enjoyed the pool. It was a very hot week so taking a dip and catching up with friends was great.
The owner was very communicative, responsive and gave us tons of great nearby recommendations.
The location can’t be beat.
Magical property! We very much enjoyed our time here. It is, as advertised, a work in progress but that only added to its charm. The back yard at night, with the pool and string lights on, is so lovely. Beds are very comfortable! House was equipped with everything we needed! Can’t wait to come back

Welcome! Urbania House is a family home and passion project that I’ve been in the process of restoring for a number of years. I was a French and English antique dealer in the Carolinas for several decades before moving 13 years ago to join my family in New Orleans.
I believe It’s the imperfections that makes the perfection of space and place. At Urbania House, the furniture, art and objects all have a history and story…my goal is to transport you to another time and place when you stay with us. Cheers! Patsy
