One of the highlights of the area is the Knuthenborg Safari Park, the largest of its kind in Northern Europe, where you can experience exotic animals up close. A visit to the Medieval Centre in Nykøbing on the neighbouring island of Falster is also well worthwhile. Here you can gain an exciting insight into bygone eras with faithful replicas and lively demonstrations. Another cultural gem is Pederstrup Castle, which now serves as a museum and offers interesting insights into the history of the region.
