Newly renovated beautiful old smithy from 1850 into a charming farmhouse.
6 double rooms with 5 tiled bathroom on second floor, reading chairs upstairs lounge downstairs with TV, dining hall with a great open fire, complete modern kitchen, 2 guest toilets, terrace with furniture in the garden.
Wifi.
Hiking, biking, fishing, walking in the forest or visit old town of Eskilstuna, the fairy tale castle Story Sundby (park and café is open, visit to the castle must be pre-booked), Julita - a fantastic mansion and park.
The lake Hjälmaren 500 m from the house with a rowing boat, 2 paddle boards etc.
Swim at Gillberganäs, a small beach for the village approx 1 km. Walk along the lake and find your spot or drive/bike to Lövön - our nature reserve at Biby - and bath from the rounded cliffs.

Wonderful Farmhouse

We are thankful to have been guests in that adorable farmhouse, which is set up so beautiful. Everything we needed was there, if in the kitchen or wood for fireplace. As well Katarina has it decorated very lovely for our stay in christmas time. Our group enjoyed the time together in the house very much and the landscape with lots of snow, what we hoped to have experience. Thank you Katarina for everything, your great trip advices and to answer our questions every time.

Absolutely fantastic. Highly recommended.

Recently stayed for seven nights with family and friends. Katarina was a fantastic host. The house far exceeded our expectations. Rooms have been renovated to a superb level. Tasteful designs and modern equipped bathrooms. Closer to a 4-5 star hotel than a guest house. There are two bathrooms downstairs, a shared bathroom upstairs and four en-suite bathrooms. Definitely felt like a luxury having so many en-suite. The location is very private and quiet. A little slice of heaven on a large working farm. We enjoyed long nights outside around the barbeque, enjoying nature on the expansive decking. The kitchen is large and well equipped with everything a large group would need. An added bonus is the close proximity to a slow moving river, leading onto an expansive lake, and a nearby swimming beach. There is a private jetty with access to rowing boats, a SUP board and a canoe. We made extensive use of these and it was magical. Definitely a bonus as usually you would need to pay extra for these types of facilities. If you love Swedish nature, then this will be exactly what you are looking for. Close proximity to a large shopping centre with everything you would need, including a System Bollaget. Recommend double checking with Katarina that the Wifi has been fixed. We struggled with it. Ended up resulting in a week "digital detox". Tough with five teenage kids in the group! :-) So also double check this if you need to work from the location. You'll need the Wifi as the cellphone reception is not strong in the area. Overall, highly recommended. Little slice of heaven. We and our friends will definitely be back. Thanks Katarina for a fantastic stay!

Vi hade en väldigt mysigt och bekväm vistelse i Smedjan. Huset är väl utrustat för gäster. Allt finns och utrymme i huset gör det lätt att bo som större sällskap tillsammans. Sångerna är bekväma. Det var jätteskönt att vara här. Så trevligt. Tack!

En härlig semestervecka med goda vänner 70-80 år i ålder! Bra utrustat hus och fina utrymmen överallt. Lite svårt med brant trappa till andra våningen. Saknade jacuzzi som utlovats i annonsen. De av oss som använde WiFi påtalade den svaga anslutningen. F.ö. mycket nöjda, så tack för denna vecka som vi kommer att minnas med förtjusning!

Absolut empfehlenswert

Wir hatten einen tollen Urlaub und Katharina ist eine eine aufmerksame und liebe Gastgeberin. Das Haus ist super ausgestattet mit allem was man benötigt. Einen kleinen Abzug gibt es, weil im Inserat steht, dass es einen Whirlpool gibt,der aber nicht vorhanden war.

Vi hade vårt bröllop i smedjan och det var helt fantastiskt. Fin lokal i fin miljö. Perfekt för bröllop där man kan ha gäster som sover över. Rummen är riktigt fina och ägarna hjälpte oss med att se till att det fanns bord, stolar, dukar, glas, vaser mm. för att det skulle räcka till bröllopet. Rekommenderas varmt!

Underbart boende

Vi hyrde huset i några dagar med föräldrar, barn och barnbarn. Huset var stort och rymligt. Stora sällskapsytor som gjorde att vi kunde umgås i flera dagar utan att det kändes trångt. På övervåningen finns de bra planerade och stilfullt inredda sovrummen med tillhörande badrum. Trappan upp till övervåningen är delvis rätt brant. Köket är fullt utrustat och resten av huset också. Det fanns allt från schampo och hårfön till kubbspel och pingisbord. Värden svarade snabbt och hjälpte oss med alla våra frågor inför resan. Bl a rekommenderade hon en kock, som vi var väldigt nöjda med. Vi kan verkligen rekommendera detta boende.

Super schönes Haus mit liebevoll und hochwertig eingerichteten Zimmern auf großem Anwesen. Bietet die Möglichkeit zur absoluten Ruhe, aber auch Beschäftigung für die ganze Familie. Viele Spiele für draußen, Grillen, Strand und Wandern und Paddelboot in dazugehörigem Naturreservat vorhanden. Sehr gastfreundliche Gastgeber die gerne für Tipps zur Verfügung stehen.

Biby Herrgård is one of the oldest inhabited wooden mansion in the county of Sörmland in was built around year 1600. Johan Klingspor who lived at the Stora Sundby, a fairytale like castle nearby, bought Biby 2013 and moved here with his wife Katarina 2019 after a generational change to his eldest son.
Over centuries Biby and Stora Sundby has had the same owner twice and now for the third time.

Why they chose this property

The family Klingspors were friends of family Celsings and decided to buy the estate when the Celsings decided to sell Biby after many centuries.

What makes this property unique

Biby is famous for many reasons especially the landscape with an ancient touch and quietness. The wildlife and birdlife is interesting. The nature reserve of Lövön is a part of Biby and is a beautiful little peninsula surrounded by the lake of Hjälmaren.
