We’re genuinely disappointed to hear this review, especially considering the many positive interactions we had during your stay and your repeated requests to extend the booking — none of which mentioned any issues such as an odor. We’d like to clarify that the $1,000 charge was a reduced fee due to serious policy violations, including exceeding the agreed-upon number of guests and bringing two unauthorized dogs onto the property. These are clear breaches of the house rules, which are outlined in our listing and rental agreement. At no point was this fee ever presented as a refundable deposit — this was communicated transparently and documented entirely within the platform’s messaging system. This was done in a good faith effort to provide you with accommodations when we could have evicted you and your group for these violations. Additionally, we are currently dealing with over $1,800 in property damages caused during Brandon's stay, specifically to the garage structure and garage door. We always strive to provide a fair and welcoming experience to all guests, but in this case, the disregard for our rules and property made this stay exceptionally difficult. We do not take negative reviews lightly, but it's important for us to address misinformation and protect the integrity of our rental for future guests.
