Spectacular property, breathtaking views, tastefully decorated, peaceful and serene, fantastic owners. Everything about this property was fantastic, from the scenery, to the atmosphere, to the response and helpfulness of the owners. The pictures just don't do it justice . Will absolutely stay here again.
Beautiful property on the Flathead River in Columbia Falls
We had an amazing stay at this property and hope to return! This home is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated with rustic, outdoorsy pieces and artwork. Incredible sunrises and sunsets with the mountains and river as your backdrop! It was super clean with the most comfortable beds we've ever slept on in a rental property or hotel! Our friends have already bought the same bed pillows (Denise gave us the brand name) and they intend to also purchase the same mattress! The outdoor space is inviting with a table and chairs to eat at, Adirondack chairs around the firepit, a swing and a bench at the edge of the ridge overlooking the river, and the (much appreciated after a day of hiking!) hot tub. The kitchen was well stocked with all the essentials.
Two things to note (which would not stop us from booking again): 1. If you are a light sleeper and like the windows open at night, bring ear plugs because the train comes though town during the night and the tracks are close to the house; 2. The downstairs bathroom does not have a full shower--it has a hand-held shower head in a tub. Neither of these things would prevent us from staying here again though.
My family of four (mom, dad, and two teenage girls) stayed with Denise from July 24th through July 29th, 2022. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend this property. We used this home as our access point to Glacier National Park. Drive time to the West Glacier entrance was approximately 20-25 minutes and about 1.5 hours to the Two Medicine entrance. We did not make the drive to Many Glacier but it normally looked to be a 2.5 hour drive.
Pre-arrival and arrival communication with Denise was perfect. Denise provided home access codes and detailed driving instructions 5 days prior to our arrival. This lead time gave me ample opportunity to ask any questions or receive clarifications on the property and how to get there. As it turned out, I did not have any questions at that time, but I view providing this information well in advance as superb customer service.
Upon arrival, we found the home itself to be immaculate. It is tastefully decorated with a more modern approach to fixtures and furnishing, but still managing to keep the “cabin” vibe with some of the art and decorations. There were also other well thought out touches which I have not typically seen in other rental homes. Examples include: bear spray (obviously location specific), lavender essential oil spray for bedding/pillows, three separate coffee options (Nespresso, Kuerig, and a normal drip coffee pot), binoculars, a spotting scope and telescope. The “House Rules” book was also informative and complete, giving us a good overview of the home and its amenities. The book also includes a page regarding bear safety for those who did not necessarily prepare for this beforehand.
Looking down at the Flathead River, the views from the rear of the house are beautiful. There is ample outdoor space. The outdoor area is also well appointed with a propane fire pit, hot tub, dining table, grill, and two additional seating areas. One note: mosquitos in the area are ubiquitous and bug spray was a must for our family.
During our stay, Denise periodically checked in with us to ensure our stay was meeting our expectations. She also provided suggestions for restaurants and other things to do including weekly farmers market time and location, local hiking trails and tips on visiting Glacier National Park. She was always quick to respond to questions.
Checkout was straightforward and simple. All the instructions for departure were in the House Rules book and were ali
