We enjoyed our stay. It’s an old house and the floors creak but it served us well. We really like the antique decor - old radios, turntable and telephone. It’s listed for 12 people and the host is willing to have 12 people there, but there are only beds for 9. This wasn’t an issue for us because the host communicated that to us when we inquired. The host is very responsive to questions.
Great House with very cool antique motif …tons of interesting items in the home and very comfortable to spread out and relax! Property is equipped with all you need for a home away from home! Great location in Gillette and walking distance to downtown. Enjoyed the Frontier Auto Museum - they even have a great cafe. Would definitely return again!
Clean, comfortable, and nice amenities! The complimentary auto museum tickets and mugs were a nice bonus. The living room is a nice space for the four of us to hang out, the kitchen and dining area is great, and the front porch is a fun place to visit about our hunts in the evening. The fenced in backyard is also great for privacy and playing games with family and friends. They also have boot mats right inside the door which we appreciate as hunters so we can keep the place clean without taking our boots off outside. I highly recommend staying here.
Absolutely outstanding property!Tons of charm, quiet, comfortable would highly recommend ,and if we ever have the need to stay in Gillette again would rent this property again .The one and only problem, and it is a small one was we couldn't get the TV in the living room to work, connectivity problems, and it's very possible we just didn't do something right lol.Great old house, loved our stay
This was by far one of the most interesting and memorable homes we’ve ever stayed in. It perfectly blends old-school charm with modern comfort. The house is spacious, spotless, and full of character—every room tells a story. Located right in downtown Gillette, it’s convenient yet peaceful. We loved it so much we’ve already decided to rent it again next year. A must-stay if you appreciate a mix of history and modern luxury!
Excellent historical residence. Decorations were relaxing, sept. is a great time of year to stay in Gillette. Walking distance to area shops and resturants
It was a lovely stay in the house. The house was clean, quiet and safe. It has a great history and is lovingly furnished. Be sure to visit the museum that the house belongs to. Thank you for the lovely time.
We absolutely loved staying in the Ross House. Our hosts were amazing and the house is absolutely beautiful. It was very well stocked with everything and anything we could have possible needed for our week long stay. Our kids want to stay here EVERY time we come to Gillette!
Older home in the downtown area has a great deal of charm. It has a lot of modern amenities. It is a delightful refreshing little Haven in the middle of Gillette. Brianna is an exceptional host and make sure you visit the frontier museum one block away.
Four of us stayed at the Ross House on a pronghorn hunting trip. The house was spatious, comfortable, and clean. We enjoyed hanging out on the front deck every night to share stories. Communicating with host was easy. I highly recommend!
It was fun but didn’t care for the stiff blankets and towels. Also lack of wash cloths. The 2 thermostats should have been labeled. But overall we would stay again

Beautiful home
This home was truly beautiful and filled with interesting antiques. It is located on a steep hill, which cause a few issues since there was a good snowfall, making it difficult to get out of the driveway and up the street. The hosts were not very responsive and did not do any snow removal after it snowed. Overall, the home worked well for us as far as number of beds and comfort inside of the home.

We apologize for the inconvenience of the snowfall. Its hard to fix a situation if no one reached out to us to ask for our assistance for snow removal. The guest never reached out other than for the door code and letting us know they were checked out.

This is a very cute house with beautiful antique furnishings. The location was good for us. We loved the bright colors and the front porch. It was quite comfortable. We had a couple issues. The amount of glassware was very skimpy. There were only 3 stemless wine glasses (two plastic), a few juice glasses and some blue glass jars. We went to the local Salvation Army and bought wine glasses, coups and cocktail glasses to use while there and left many of them at the house (you are welcome). We would suggest that more bath towels be included - 3 bath towels on the main floor for three women felt insufficient. Yes there is a washer and dryer, but we did want to do laundry while there for a busy weekend. The outdoor tables in front and back and the leaves and debris on the back patio needed to be cleaned before guests arrive. Also the check out process and time were not communicated until I sent a message to ask about it. This could be a (more) fantastic stay with some attention to these details.

We are Gillette natives; we own Frontier Auto Museum and love preserving history. We have started our vacation rentals based on that love for preserving the past. These properties all have a special story and place in the community, and we wanted to keep it alive. The houses are decorated period correct and all have fun and unique features. We hope you can enjoy these unique homes and also make your way to the museum for a full experience!
Why they chose this property
We are located in the original downtown Gillette filled with lots of character and only a couple blocks away from our historic downtown. You will find locally owned shops, restaurants and attractions all within walking distance.
What makes this property unique
This beautiful craftsman home in the heart of downtown is full of 100-year-old trees, you can see the handmade craftsmanship throughout. The home was where my father and his siblings grew up. We were able to purchase the house in 2019 and bring it back into our family. Besides the remodeled kitchen and updates in the bathrooms the home is original. With built in cupboards and nooks, this home has lots of character. It's decorated with antiques that make it very cozy and a great place to make family memories.
