About this property

Stay on the ranch in beautiful ranch house

This is a unique opportunity to have your home away from home nestled right in the middle of our working family ranch. This stunning two bedroom, one bath home was built in the early 1900's and recently updated and styled for comfort, the real western experience, and offers some of the most spectacular views out of every window. The home is ready for artists, regenerative agriculture enthusiasts, families, fisherman, hunters, wanderers, and those of you with a gypsy soul. It is less than a ten minute drive to town but remote enough that you won't have any neighbors. It is totally set up to dine at the house, inside or outside on the gas grill. The den is set up with a library, games, and toys. Wireless internet will let you connect whenever you need to. The master bedroom features hand painted brands that are all regional family ranch brands. The bathroom rocks a long clawfoot tub to soak and relax or have a quick shower. Walk outside, look at the mountains, see the horses in the front yard or go for a walk on the ranch. We are a working ranch, there are times we will be moving cattle, putting up hay, training horses, and irrigating, tagging calves, sorting cattle, among other things. If that's not your jam, this isn't the place for you. If you're mildly curious about family ranches in the west that are working towards increased soil health, stewardship of all living things, and regenerative agriculture, then this is the place for you!

Amazing Ranch Stay
We had one of the best vacations we’ve ever had! The ranch and the family were super friendly and very accommodating answering all our “city folk” questions about ranch life. Our inquisitive 6yo made fast friends with the horses just across the driveway, greeting them each morning and evening. We were able to watch the farrier re-shoe a horse - fascinating! The home is private, clean, and well appointed inside. There is a generous mud room for gear, hats, hiking boots, etc. There is no air conditioning, but it’s not needed. We were there during Aug. temps were mid 90s every day but the home was cool and very comfortable (60s) inside nearly all the time. Mary our host was gracious, responsive and accommodating, wonderful to work with. Other highlights include: gorgeous mountain views and sunsets, Amish store 2 miles away - great for lunch. Salmon area has hiking, rafting, horseback riding all close, and a cute downtown area. Check out the Highlander brewery, you won’t be disappointed. We will be back in the area again and will definitely seek out another stay on the ranch. Dan and Ann Quiet Close to town/ also close Animals across the driveway if you have a horse lover in your family, leave plenty of time to get to know the animals

Amazing!!
We were in town for the Beaverhead 100k race and couldn’t have had a better place to stay. The place was wonderful and right in the middle of the ranch with views of the mountains and horses for neighbors! The host were extremely gracious to our whole family. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Secret Haven
Thank you, Mary. Your guest house is amazing. Your hospitality was beyond what one can expect. The accommodations exceeded my/our expectations. Thank you for taking time from your busy day to enlighten us with the history of the land and of the old buildings which remain on the property. We definitely plan to return and stay longer next time. Highly recommend!

Off the path
This is a great place that is off the path. The home was clean and inviting. We didn't spend much time there as we were out and visiting with family. Great place to stay.
