In the private neighborhood of Skyview, centrally-located and close to downtown work and nightlife, UT, shops and restaurants, QC Stadium (soccer) and Formula1, but shielded from city life, you'll find this beautifully maintained early-1950's craftsman bungalow, perfect as a temporary family rental or homebase for living/working in Austin. Our home features an open living/dining area, multiple office space options, well-equipped kitchen and a large backyard with open-lattice pergola shaded by mature oak trees. Original oak wood floors throughout offer a continuous flow through the open and well-lighted house.

We've lived in, and loved, Austin for over 25 years and especially appreciate the location of our house for outdoor activities (biking, swimming), eateries (yum!) and entertainment (car race, UT event, Austin public library). We restored our home ourselves, using only quality materials and craftspersons, while retaining the original feel of a mid-century home. Every renter has appreciated - and scored us 5-stars and commented on - our personal attention.

Why they chose this property

Skyview is an exclusive historical neighborhood, accessed only via 2222. It's a hidden gem among the central Austin neighborhoods because only those who need to be in Skyview are driving in Skyview (i.e., no "short-cuts" to busier areas/main streets of Austin). Neighbors are caring and alert, daily walking dogs, running or strolling baby carriers. Its serenity and quiet allow for enjoyment of our home and remote working, as many of our long-term (monthly) renters have done.
