My friends and I came to Elements for a relaxing weekend away and couldn’t have been more amazed and impressed and rejuvenated and rested! The property is so beautiful and everything you need for restorative weekend away. Hope to stay again another time!

Exceptional property

This is now a new family fav. 4 separate little buildings for privacy and quiet time. Lovely grounds. Very functional (in a good way) kitchen. Community space is welcoming.

Amazing property

My 3 girlfriends and I spent a week in October at the Elements. What a beautiful property. The redwoods are amazing. Enjoyed the hot tub and outdoor kitchen, patio and the guest cottages. Heather could not have been more accommodating. She was quick to respond to any questions we had. Sonoma County is beautiful and we enjoyed exploring the area. Would definitely highly recommend staying here. Raymond's Bakery is a must see. We went there our first evening for pizza and wine and good music. Their bakery was excellent as well.

Dream getaway

This home was an absolute dream. It's secluded among the grandiose redwoods and has every accommodation you can imagine. Born, raised and living in the city, this was exactly what we needed, a country getaway. The property easily accommodated 8 people and we all enjoyed cooking dinners in the beautiful chefs kitchen and grilling steaks on the outdoor grill. Watching stars from the hot tub was a perfect nightcap. Wine tasting and restaurants were a bout 20 minutes away. You can't go wrong in this "postcard" home. We will definitely be back.

perfect family retreat

My family celebrated my mother and father in laws 75th birthday. It was an outstanding venue for family to come together and enjoy the "elements". The grounds and home was in perfect condition and well appointed. We were able to visit wineries in Sonoma, Napa and Dry Creek. I wish we would have dined more at home...3 nights were not enough! My husband and I plan on returning by ourselves for a special retreat! Michael is a gem and can make anything happen! Thanks for sharing this wonderful home.

I love it when guests enjoy Elements like I do. It is a home, but its orientation is towards nature and comfort. It is a retreat, and in the most amazing location. The real praise is when guests return every year for a special retreat or occasion. I know then how my efforts have succeeded. I am delighted that Deborah and her guests had such a good time.

Fantastic Holiday Retreat

We vacationed at Elements with a group of 6 adults, one infant and our dogs. Our stay was nothing short of amazing! The location of the property is perfect, nestled in the woods, but close to the coast and wineries. Michael accommodated our all of group's needs and remained in touch with us throughout our stay. Having the three separate living spaces gave everyone the space they needed, but allowed us all to hang out together anytime we wanted. The hot soaking tub was perfect spot to enjoy a glass of wine on a chilly fall night. The kitchen is well appointed with most everything needed to make perfect wine country gourmet dinners. Overall an amazing place to spend a holiday vacation and a good value as well. Raymond's Bakery in Cazadero is a must!

I am delighted that everyone had such a good time despite the weather. One of the essentials when enjoying the north coast is a standby generator. The power outages over the Thanksgiving Holiday didn't affect their stay in the least. And I agree with you, Raymonds Bakery is a real local treasure. I hope you will come back in the Spring, when they start having local bands and entertainment. Mark and Elizabeth are the local champs at jitterbug. And as a owner, I want to thank you, great guests are always welcome.

Enchanting forest

We really enjoyed our time at Elements. The setting is very private, quite, exactly what I was looking for. It was awesome to wake up in the forest, drink coffee and look at the trees. I loved that we could spend time together with my parents in the main house and take an advantage from staying in separate houses when we needed it. Out kid had so much fun at the yoga house. I hope we left everything in the right place. Thank you for excellent bathrooms, comfortable beds, fun washer and drier, well equipped kitchen, the web, Netflix, the heater in the house. It does matters.

Perfect Stay!

Hannah and Bryan were very accommodating and responsive hosts. They were easy and professional to communicate with. Elements has all you could ever need in a vacation rental. Nestled in the redwoods, it felt like a retreat. Everything was very clean, comfortable and thoughtfully organized. The kitchen cabinets even had labels inside which made it very easy to find what you need when cooking. The outdoor entertaining space was great for intimate family dinners and chats around the fire. The entire property had great sunlight the whole day. The River is a quick jot down the road and the beach was a 15 minute drive. This place was spectacular! My family and I spent 3 days there and wish we could have spent more. We will definitely be back for a longer stay! Thank you Hannah and Bryan!

Fabulous Retreat

I rented this property for my husband's 50th birthday. This place exceeded all of my expectations. First of all, the owner could not have been more accommodating. Before I arrived at the property, the owner provided me with great recommendations for my trip. Second of all, the property and surroundings were stunning - a beautiful, private retreat in the middle of giant redwood trees. This property has it all - you never have to leave..... Beautiful outdoor patio, commercial grade grill and indoor kitchen, awesome firepit, jacuzzi (in the middle of the beautiful redwoods), etc. Also, the property was very well kept and clean. I would highly recommend Elements. This place is truly something special and I will be going back again. Thank You Michael. Sincerely, Boop!!

It was important to me that my party venue have the perfect balance of tranquility, beauty, nature, style, comfort, and luxury; Elements did not disappoint. In fact, it far exceeded my expectations. Michael, the owner is a delightful person. He addressed all my questions and concerns and was extremely helpful when it came to suggesting local activities, restaurants and favorite shops. He magically merged rustic beauty with sophisticated style. I wanted a place where I could entertain my friends in luxury and comfort, and give them the feeling of being in a secluded forest setting enchanted by the natural beauty of the surrounding mountains, and towering redwoods, yet provide them all the “creature comforts” of a spa resort where they could relax and unwind. We also enjoyed Austin Creek’s many swimming holes, just a short walk from the property. True to its namesake, Michael created a perfect blend of all nature’s elements: wood, water, earth, fire, and air. Whether you are looking for solitude, intimacy, celebration or assembly, Elements provides a full spectrum of experiences. I can’t wait to return!

A weekend at The Elements

My husband and I and two other couples stayed at The Elements May 6-8, 2011. We stayed one evening at Solage Calistoga and had an amazing time, then it was time to drive West to The Elements. I was worried that maybe I had made the wrong decision and should have stayed at the hotel the entire 3-day weekend. Then we arrived. For one, the property was gorgeous: up on a hill surrounded by beautiful redwoods, stream running nearby, and the gorgeous view of surrounding mountains. Each house was immaculate and well-appointed with everything we needed and more, and the outdoor entertainment areas were fabulous. My absolute favorite piece of this property was the hot tub area. A deep, wooden hot tub built into a deck surrounded by redwoods (just as the photo shows). The lighting is perfect and made the experience complete. We could see the beautiful trees and the stars above us. We were able to spend a day driving around the area and easily made it down to Bodega Bay for beautiful views of the coastline, then to Guerneville to Boon eat+drink (yum!), and on to wineries and dinner in Healdsburg. Despite the remoteness of The Elements, we felt that we easily enjoyed the Russian River Valley. The combination of one night in Napa Valley and two at The Elements made our trip perfect. I wanted two completely different environments in one short trip, and I came home so well-rested and refreshed! Michael was very nice and accommodating despite my late arrival, took the time to show us around, and even set up our cell phones on his 3G MicroCell signal booster. One more note: make sure you make it down to Raymond's Bakery. Wonderful breads and pastries (and the pizza looked so good, but didn't get to try any). Raymond and his family, and the staff were extremely welcoming and sweet!

I am sometimes forgetful about asking guests for a review, I now how important time is these days. But when I see a response like Jamie's, I get a real sense of satisfaction. I want guests to enjoy Elements like I do, and to really enjoy its incredible serenity. I agree with Jamie about Raymonds Bakery, and Boon Eat and Drink. But Jamie was here for only two days and just began to experience the real magic. When you stay longer, you really understand that time here seems to move slower, and you smile more often.

Things needed

It would’ve been very helpful to have fold up stands so there was a place for your suitcases besides the bed. Dressers, or even shelves on the wall for clothing is necessary. Just some hooks to hang jackets on would’ve been useful.

Fantastic place

We had a wonderful experience at Elements. The kids had plenty of room to run around and the adults enjoyed the great kitchen & BBQ facilities. We all enjoyed the hot tub in the woods and the deck in the trees. Really such a beautiful spot, the pictures don't do it justice.

Beautiful place, amazing stay!

We had a family reunion and this place was perfect. The property is absolutely magical surrounded by redwoods and a small creek, perfect for larger groups and dogs. We each got our own little unit house. We got carried away Sunday afternoon and played loud music, but the owner was really sweet and just reminded us to lower the volume a bit. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful property, sort of strange set up!

This would be a perfect property for a group of couples or a family reunion. I was traveling with good friends and it was sort of weird that we all stayed in separate buildings – something I obviously should have thought about when reading the description. Other than that, it was a gorgeous property and I loved the outdoor patio. I’m in a motorized wheelchair and the bathroom in the main house was absolutely perfect for my roll-in shower chair.

Get away Mountain House

This house is a little far from things but that can be a good thing. Very expansive place. Great kitchen, separated housing areas for sleeping all with bathrooms. Jacuzzi works well, sitting below a canopy of redwoods. Extremely quite.
