Manna House (Eagle suite) is a clean, comfortable guest house. Immaculate furnishings and lots of conveniences to make the stay memorable. Private hot tub was greatly appreciated after our 5 hour hike to/from Sandy Island. Mark is a gracious host.
Our room was well designed and situated with a lovely ocean view. The property is well cared for and the host is attentive, responsive and with great attention to detail.
We really enjoyed our stay on Denman Island. It's very peaceful with a few lovely hiking trails with views and simply enjoy nature.
Wonderful spot, great setup. Cozy and clean. Wonderful view and facilities. Perfect for a weekend getaway. Mark was very responsive and welcoming. Highly recommend.
Mark did a wonderful job helping us to get settled. The lift room was charming and truly unique. Our own private Japanese hot soaker tub was a blissful addition.
The local hiking trails and scenery were wonderful. Boyle’s provincial park and Helliwell park on nearby Hornby island are absolute must visits.
Great place to have a relaxing weekend in a very cute and cozy place. The eagle nest was a great place for us two, with everything we needed for the weekend. Just the hot tub and cold plunge were available at out time but it was great to have this spa experience with our private hot tub and cold plunge. Even on a very rainy week-end we enjoyed it a lot
Everywhere on this island tends towards natural BC beauty. Manna House is the west coast curated by a landscape artist surrounded by a cutting edge spa. My Scandinavian soul was in heaven in the ocean beach sauna. Looking forward to returning midwinter. Woke up in the middle of the night looking straight up into starry starry night. The body work was divinely inspired. We took west coast cuisine to the next level. Good times.
Manna House is something special! Restful and beautifully appointed Eagle View unit had both garden and ocean views. The unit was immaculate, the bed comfortable. Mark was a genial and informative host and even went as far as to arrange the requested Orca sighting! Four orcas swimming off the beach on morning, just breathtaking. Thank you as well Mark for setting up the hot tub which was enjoyed in the evening. I plan to return in the future for sure.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Manna House. Mark is an excellent host. After spending the day mountain biking on Hornby Island, we loved soaking in the Japanese cedar hot tub, cooking meals in the well-stocked kitchen, and enjoying our meals on our private deck overlooking a lovely garden with nighttime lights and birdsong that create a magical ambience. Our upstairs suite had a stunning view of the ocean, and the whole place is top-notch in terms of amenities, decor, architectural details and opportunities to relax and enjoy nature. We also enjoyed our time swimming in the ocean which is a two-minute walk away and relaxing on the beach in comfy chairs. Next time we will try some of the other spa features offered such as the oceanfront sauna, infrared sauna and massage. In fact, we enjoyed the Japanese or Ofuru soaking hot tub so much, we are hoping to get one for our cabin in the Yukon! Highly recommend Manna House!
My husband and I stayed in the Eagle view suite for six days in May. It was everything we could have imagined. Comfortable queen bed with ocean views and sounds waking us. The rest of the suite was clean and well appointed. The bathtub with its skylights was a wonderful experience! The private patio overlooking the backyard and oak barrel hot tub was scrubbed clean for our use and very much enjoyed. Just a few minute walk across the road was a spectacular waterfront area with fire pit, hammock and cedar sauna available for rental. Mark, the owner, was very responsive to any questions or guidance we needed. The one thing we would advise is bring some eye masks as the bedroom window has no blinds or curtains so the sun wakes you up very early! We would absolutely return here in the future.
My husband and I had never been to Denman Island before. We wanted something that felt like it was "off grid" but wasn't really. This place did not disappoint. We were in the Eagle's Nest (this isn't the room's real name but that's what we call it) and it was darling! When we come back, we will be requesting this room!
It was lovely having our own cedar hot tub outside, and having our own barbecue, and bring across the street from the beach. It was a lovely vacation!!!
This place is not for people who want the "perfect" resort. It's not the Hyatt. It's a cozy B&B with lots of extras. It's quirky and charming and it's a little bit of heaven.
Thank you, Mark, for taking such good care of us. 💜
There were some lovely aspects about this stay: Erin’s massage, the orufu hot tub, the ginger pussycat that occasionally visited and the stars seen through the skylights.
Unfortunately the fp was not functioning and we had wanted this for our time away. The water pressure was too low, if we had known we would have adjusted our times (begin filling the bath 3/4h in advance). The dishwasher was very loud, did not dry the dishes, nor was conveniently placed being way too high. Mark had conveniently placed a stepstool to access though. The meals were fine however not exceptional, especially the cod and salmon dishes. And lastly and definitely the most important, we are tall (5’8 and 6’) and this lovely spot is not appropriate for tall people given the many sloped angles, especially over the toilet!
So much time, thought & care was taken into making the stay special. The setting was beautiful, minutes from the beach, communications with owner Mark was easy & with clear instructions, as well as the apartment was immaculate. The stay was the perfect getaway to relax & rejuvenate . . . a truly magical experience! :-)
Denman is a relaxed nature centered community. Beaches even on the busiest of weekend were calm with a couple of friendly folks around. I found it to be much more relaxing than some of the more busy islands while you can still easily access Hornby or Vancouver Island should you be looking to adventure.
These lodgings were absolutely wonderful. While technically living in the same house with two other apartments - you'd never know. The cedar hot tubs are next level amazing - may partner claimed to not like hot tubs had his opinion absolutely transformed be the fragrant red waters in our charming private back yard. We used the electric bbq everynight and it was such a treat - easy to clean and offers a nice grill.
The layout inside was just exquisite - both my partner and I are designers and we appreciated the level of thoughtfulness and detail put into every decision in the space. The tub is heavenly and while the water is a little sulphury across Denman Island - our skin never looked so good ;)
The quiet, the birds and Mark's wonderful hospitality made this spot an absolute favorite.
