We enjoyed our stay greatly. The property was well located but situated so it seemed like we were in the middle of nowhere while still being a short drive to the attractions we wanted to visit
This was the perfect place for our family reunion. We enjoyed going to nearby wineries. Close to the Trees of Mystery, and Crater Lake. Plenty of room for all of us. If we were to do it again this is the house to stay at.
This house is located in a very private location surrounded by a beautiful forest. Sounds of birds and wind are all I heard while sleeping with the window open
The kitchen is huge and full of everything you could possibly need.
Great spot!
We stayed here and visited the Oregon caves. It was a great location. The home was comfortable. We saw lots of wildlife! Loved our stay! Fresh flowers on the table. The home has a good feel and the kitchen is better stocked with cooking pans, utensils etc than my own kitchen. Property owner must care about this home. Looks like it’s been in the family for generations. Good family home.
Wonderful property and home that accommodates a family very nicely. The only drawback regarding location is the skunk smell from a neighboring farm. But you can't get away from it in this area (and maybe it is restricted to this time of year), and it is only noticeable outside. We appreciated the air conditioning as it gets hot in August and we sincerely appreciated finding a home this size available to rent in Takilma. Cindy made sure I got my walking stick back after I had locked it inside when we left. I appreciated her kindness!
Our family of six adults, two teens, two tweens, and a Black Lab were so happy to make the Garner House our home for the past five days. It's at the end of a country road, close enough to town (8-10 minutes) for easy errand runs, yet absolutely tranquil on the edge of the forest and surrounded by quiet.
There are plenty of board games and puzzles, a full ping pong table and dart board in the garage (with ingredients to make four-square and Twister, too). Don't know the rules to ping pong, darts, or four square? No worries, as the interpretive binder will guide you through!
The binder also includes clear directions for using the home, closing down before you go, and ideas for daytime trips. Our family hiked in Redwood National Park, visited the beach in Crescent City, and took a tour of Oregon Caves National Monument -- all are within a 75-minute drive of Garner House.
We loved the entire experience.
Loved, loved our stay at this home away from home tucked “in the woods” and not to far from town. A great house with rustic eclectic decor and very, very clean! Open area for large groups made it a perfect place for spreading out! Wood burning stove added to our Thanksgiving coziness. Beautiful area with great hiking! We’ll be back next Thanksgiving!
