We are wrapping up our stay at the Lodge and love our stay here! We've traveled and stayed at many places as a family and the lodge is one of our all time favorites! Right up there with a room in Costa Rica, over looking the water. The lodge is magical! You hear running water while nestled in the mountain. Everything about the rooms here are so thoughtful, very clean, and feels extra special. The beds are very comfortable (I have a special body with extra needs and was very comfortable). They made sure we knew about the freshly stocked s'mores bin to use in one of their beautiful fire pits on the grounds. My family with 8 and 10 year old kids enjoyed playing bags, rocking in the porch swings and sitting by the fire when we weren't rafting and ziplining with Nantahala outdoor center. Heads up, if you're planning a trip here, grab groceries in Bryson City if you're needing breakfast. We picked up oatmeal at the convence store at NOC - I should have planned for that. Dinner at NOC is a bit pricy, but super delicious! Pizza is reasonable and really great! The lodge offers good to cook on property during peak season in the summers (maybe ask about this ahead of time). We lived the bonfire pits, bags, porch swings and rockers. Even when there were 7 rooms of the 10 full, it felt quiet. It's a dream!
