We checked in very late. The location was fantastic, live up to everything claimed. Great game room, indoor and outdoor pool. The room had the space needed for our weekend Christmas in Virginia. We will look to book again for an extended stay.
Great property with many things to do for kids and adults. Local friends and family were able to visit with plenty of room. Would return and stay at this unit.
We enjoyed everything about the property, the outdoor pool, the bar and kitchen, the arcade, the mini golf. They had everything you can ask for. It was close to Busch Gardens, Water country and Colonial Williamsburg. We would definitely go back.
We spent one last week with the grandchildren before they all go back to school. Everyone had a great time. There was so many activities for everyone on the property.
We were very happy with our stay at Wyndham Kingsgate. The Suite was in excellent condition, clean and well equipped for our stay. Check in was easy. Kids (13-19) enjoyed the pool and game room and we all enjoyed the lawn Chess and Checkers. Close to everything we planned to visit (Jamestowne, Col. Williamsburg and Busch Gardens). We had a blast and would GLADLY stay here again. Price was awesome for the time we stayed and the space of the property. Highly recommend!
The room needed a little updating. It was clean but a little worn. Had to call because one bathroom had no shower curtain. Also called to have a lizard removed one morning. The door in the foyer would not shut properly. Overall we did enjoy our stay.
The location was fantastic for our stay. The place was clean and comfortable. The kitchen is very sparse, but the necessities were available. The king bed did not have a fitted bottom sheet; just a flat sheet that was too small and tucked in. The washing machine did not drain properly. It took a long time for the water in the showers to warm up. The front desk made it seem like a sales meeting was required, even after I declined twice. But the apartment was very nice. Everyone was comfortable. The hosts had everything ready with the resort. The only information I didn’t receive in a timely manner was the check-out requirements.
We decided this year to take a family history vacation with our two homeschool children and my Dad, a huge history buff for Colonial Williamsburg Homeschool Days. We rented the three bedroom L.O. and it was absolutely PERFECT for our needs! My husband kept remarking that i did a great job finding our place.
The kiddos had their own king-sized bed and bathroom to share, which they got an enourmous kick out of. My husband and I got the very spacious Master suite, and my Dad got his own everything in the lock off portion. We were all so comfortable!
The furnishings were just gorgeous - I especially loved the Colonial artwork. The kitchen was well appointed and we enjoyed our breakfasts and dinners in between our history adventures.
Then the property itself was incredible! We didnt get to take advantage of too much since our days were packed taking in the sights, but we did visit the Activities Center one evening and were so impressed! We all enjoyed the arcade - even my Dad! My kiddos think this needs to become our next family tradition.
Thank you for a wonderful, memorable stay. If we ever get to come back, we will book here in a heartbeat!
It was a great vacation. The room was super big and accommodating with every necessity you could need. The property was great. The kids loved it. Owners were super helpful and quick to respond.
Our reservation was not for the correct dates she notified me 5 hours prior to checking in. Then host promised us the same facility and after days of. I response we had to make the choice to find a place for the missing days . Paid out of pocket then she messaged me 15 min prior to check out that she made reservations for somewhere else . This was absolutely ridiculous and not professional. I would never book thru Vrbo again after speaking w an agent on sat trying to get all my money back and now you want proof from
Me that I spent money for another place .

A mixed bag
We stayed at the Wyndham Kingsgate for a week in Williamsburg with our adult children and their significant others. The accomommodations worked out well for the 8 of us, using the sofa beds. First, the location is great for touring around Williamsburg - we easily visited Colonial Williamsburg, Yorktown, Busch Gardens and Water Country. There are lots of great places to eat nearby, and we did plenty of that! It was very very hot the week we were there, so we also had a couple pool days, which were lovely! Not too crowded, and they have a separate, adults only pool, which we really appreciated. We tried mini golf, but it was just too hot. Also spent part of an evening in the arcade, which was fun, and free! There really was more going on at the property than we took advantage of, for example - a nightly movie in the theater and other activities that might be good for families with younger kids. We tended to stay in our unit playing games together, and that was great too. Everything seemed very clean, and the resort, other than the unit itself, was well cared for.
Now the not so good. We arrived on a Friday night and check in was a long process. Very inefficient! You have to talk to 3 different people before you can get in your room, and people were lined up to the outside waiting. We got in about 5:00 and we got through all the lines only to find out our room wasn't ready, so we went to dinner and came back when things had calmed down. The last step in the check in process is ostensibly to get your keys and bracelets (which function as keys) but it's really a pitch for a time share talk. Not too hard sell, but they did call us later to see if we were interested. When we said no, there was no more pressure. But honestly, we weren't even tempted to hear the pitch because of the condition of the unit we stayed in. Yes, it was dated, and I can accept that, but there were stains on all the furniture, the dishwasher door was broken and the dishwasher had flooded the nearby carpet. When we called about this, they were responsive and solved the water issue. The door stayed broken. The folding door that was in front of the washer/dryer was also broken off its track. We just set that aside. But it just made everything seem run down. In spite of the maintenance issues, it did seem clean, and the beds were comfortable. Once we had to complain of noise from upstairs, but otherwise, we had a good stay. Probably wouldn't go back though.
The property is conveniently located to major attractions in Williamsburg, and easily accessible to local dining options.
The check-in process can be a little congested with so many people checking in at the same time. We had to wait.
The individual unit was clean, well-stocked kitchen for eating in. Room was dated, needs updating. The property management communicated often to make sure we had what we needed at all times.
The pool was crowded. It's summertime. There was little supervision - especially kids running & jumping in all areas. The deck around the pool was not cleaned off daily - hairbands and fake eyelashes were there 3 days.
My family enjoyed the location. The property management has lots of activities for families. We had a great time, despite the inconveniences above. Will consider again in the future.
Super easy check-in! The facilities for our group were perfect - 5 adults, a teen and child. We loved the rooms! Kitchen was equipped with all we needed. The pools and other activities were great to have available. We were in a very quiet unit with a balcony overlooking a small wooded area so felt very private. We would highly recommend this place!
If you love Marijuana, then you'll love this place! Can you say contact buzzzzz
We were consumed with the smell of marijuana once entering the building. All rooms marked "no smoking". The rooms definitely need updating, 1 to 2" gap between the main door and floor. Hot water barely comes out of bathroom sink and the dishwasher leaks. Arcade was nice for kids and indoor/outdoor pools were nice. Overall I would give the property a 3 out of 5.
Super friendly sly, quick check in process. We were pleasantly surprised w the amount of kid friendly activities they had on grounds. There’s a nice gym, indoor and outdoor pools, playground & mini golf. There’s a theater w 2 showings a day w a great variety in movies, two separate rooms in the club house filled w coinless (free) arcade games for all ages, air hockey & a variety of oversized yard games outside the clubhouse- including checkers, connect 4 & ping pong. We weren’t on the property much but when our 2.5 year old was napping- all these activities were a great distraction for our 3 older boys. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Only down side was that the onside tavern wasn’t open.
