About this property
Heavenly Kauai Destinations Hale Moi near Hideaway beach side A
Notice: this unit has been completely renovated this past Summer. We installed a new water heater and refreshed the interior finishes. The exteriors of the complex have also recently been renovated by the association.
Enjoy a prime location for an affordable price on the North Shore of Kaua'i above Hideaway beach and by Hotel One, you can walk to Pu'u Poa Beach and enjoy stunning sunsets. Please note that folks pay $3k for rooms at Hotel One and you can stay next door for a tiny fraction of that price. Take in beautiful tropical sunrises on the private lanai overlooking the jungle. Walk to Queens bath and Pu'u Poa Beach below Hotel One. This is side A which includes a full kitchen, full bathroom and a washer/dryer. Our beautiful condo will provide everything you need at an affordable price for the North Shore of Kauai. The kitchen and the bathroom feature granite countertops.
You will have full private access to the entire side A, which is private and features a kitchen and bathroom and the large main room features a living area and a sleeping area and a private lanai.
We live in Hilo, Hawaii and we have staff on the North Shore that can be of help in case of an emergency.
Hale Moi is located on the Eastern tip of Hanalei Bay, overlooking Hideaway beach and a short walk from the St Regis Hotel. It's a short and easy hike to the beach below the St Regis Hotel, which is simply spectacular and offers stunning views of Hanalei Bay. You can also walk to Queen's bath. Please note that Princeville is on a bluff at 200' elevation. To get to any beach you will need to walk back uphill. Also note that Hideaway beach is aptly named because it's hidden and the terrain to access it is steep. The walk to Pu'u Poa beach below Hotel One is an easier walk.
While there is shuttle service to and from the Hotel One, we still recommend you rent a car. The North Shore of Kaua'i is rural and thus everything is spread out and is not well served by public transportation.
First and foremost, you are booking a condo situated in the tropics on the windward side of Hawaii. Expect to encounter heat, frequent rainfall, and overall high humidity, and bugs. While our condo has great exposure to the pleasant cool trade winds, there will be days without trade winds where it will be much warmer. We do our best to provide you with a mold free and bug free environment. However, this is the tropics, so we cannot guarantee the complete absence of mold or bugs. We do recommend guests sleep with earplugs due to the large number of Kaua'i roosters that crow at all hours of the night.
One additional note on the weather: while most of the time it rains at night and early in the Morning, it's not unheard of to get rained out. This is rare but we want you to know that we do not offer weather based refunds unless it's a natural disaster. If you happen to be unlucky and you run into such a rainy period, there is usually a dry sunny beach somewhere on the island within an hour's drive. You can reach out to us anytime for suggestions on where to go.

We really enjoyed our stay here. Well equipped kitchen and loft beds were perfect for the kids. View from deck into lush trees with all sorts of birds. Really nice and relatively quiet location. Only 15 min walk to hideaway beach (our favourite spot to snorkel on the trip) and Queens Bath. Close to pickup location for Kayak and Na Pali Coast tours. Good grocery store nearby.
Air-conditioned, has virtually everything we could ask for. The balcony mesh doors were a bit hard to shut but having breakfast out there was always worth it. Bonus points for cardinals hopping around and stealing leftover crumbs.
A small secluded beach with lots of natural shade within walking distance was also great.
I used to live in the Hale Moi complex for many years and I love the location. Sunset across the street, walk to the One Hotel and a greenbelt with birdsong off the back lanai.
This place was perfect for my sister and I. The stair case inside to the loft was a little steep but manageable. What a blessing for the price!
Mahalo!
The place is cute, quiet and easy access to beaches and shopping. AC worked fine, beds were comfy and kitchen was stocked with all the supplies we needed. Private back porch for coffee in the morning night light. Very happy. Thank you!
The A/C needs replaced it has black mold in it and makes the unit smell awful. The unit holds 5 people but yet there was only 2 clean towels in the bathroom. There is only 1 bathroom and no mirrors anywhere else. So getting 4 girls ready is a nightmare because of the only mirror being in the bathroom.
Overall a great place and incredible location. Great area for walks and to catch the sunset. The proximity to Hideaways Beach was a huge draw. The back patio opens up to a lush forest, filled with birds. A few things to note. It can use some updating in the unit and some things didn't function correctly (fan and a window shade). It can also use some better kitchen equipment. The A/C unit is also incredibly loud if you're a sensitive sleeper.
But it's very reasonably priced and the location is excellent!
great location. parking a bit funky. Few items in the house were not functioning properly. like the toilet but my husband fixed it thank goodness! screen door very hard to open.. could use newer towels and pans. however the hosts were very responsive and offered a compensation.
Apart from the noisy a/c which took a bit of getting used to, this was our home away from home in an absolutely beautiful spot. When not out doing activities we enjoyed walking on the path around the beautifully kept golf course and going to the lookouts to watch the sunsets. The whole community is well designed and cared for and in an easy spot to get to places on the North Shore by car. A real boon was having the washing machine and all the beach equipment. The keyless entry was much appreciated as well as the prompt response by Axel to any questions. I also have to compliment the housekeeping service in the person of Robert who so kindly and graciously helped us extract the dish scrubber from the sink disposal !
Bright, nicely furnished condo in a great location.
Bright, nicely furnished condo with easy parking and even easier check out instructions. 5 minute drive to Foodland Princeville Marketplace and less than 5 minute walk to a fantastic sunset lookout. Walk to shuttle pick up for Hanena State Park and Hideaways Beach. Condo has boogie boards, pool noodles, snorkel stuff, chairs, umbrella, soft sided cooler, even a small hibachi beach grill. Plenty of toilet paper and paper towels, plenty of pods for dishes and laundry. Balcony is secluded with a treetop view to observe birds. The condo sleeps 2 downstairs and 2-3 upstairs. The upstairs is a loft with no wall but is still private. The stairs to the loft are steep, going down can be a little difficult, don’t put your elderly parents up there. So grateful for an window AC unit which does a great job of cooling not just the main level but the loft as well (as long as you keep the ceiling fans going) but it is quite noisy. Sleeping upstairs it just sounded like white noise but my friend who slept on the main level right next to the unit complained that it was quite loud. Not at all a deal breaker but thought I would mention it in case you need silence to sleep. Otherwise the condo is very quiet. Would definitely book again.

Fairly affordable in Princeville, probably wouldnt stay here again
The place looks as described in the picture but there were some issues that never got resolved. The place is set in a beautiful golf community surrounded by mountains, pretty safe, but i like to have secure doors when i sleep, especially having 3 kids. The front door is just a code door that feels janky and no padlock and the sliding glass door lock is broken altogether. I emailed the first day, no response. I found a tree branch to put in the track to keep it semi secure? Weird. Issue number 2, the bathtub wouldnt drain which was really gross as youre up to your ankles in possibly the previous renters germs. I texted the numbers listed, they messaged back apologizing and asked me to put the drano down the drain, we tried that as well as a plunger to no avail. They said theyre working on a plumber, never heard another word. Would have been a lot better stay if these issues would have been addressed. Little things where corners shouldnt have been cut like water in the hand soap in the bathroom and kitchen. Super thin toilet paper and dingy towels. We stayed a week so the shower situation was a big one. Oh well, the island made up for it.
