Breathtaking Views from this amazing mountain getaway

Luxuriate in this amazing setting at 4,400 feet of elevation in the wonderful Glenville community. This well-maintained log-style home provides comfort and tranquility with wood floors, a wood-burning fireplace, and two bedrooms/baths on the main floor. An upstairs loft area with a trundle bed offers bonus space. The newly added lower level has an additional living area, another bedroom and bath as well as an additional room for more friends and family.

Convenient to cool Lake Glenville, the endless hiking trails of Panthertown Valley, and at least eight major waterfalls and countless smaller ones that lie along the area's streams, the area has a myriad of chances for exploration. You'll also find hikes that take you to cliff-top views of the surrounding mountains, or to the sandy beaches of deep, clear swimming holes. Bring a picnic to your favorite hangout spot on one of these beaches or perhaps to a cliff where you can end your meal with a dessert of wild blueberries. Whether you are just looking for a space to experience the fresh mountain air in peace and quiet or you wish to experience all the adventures the area has to offer, this home is for you.

First trip to NC mountains

Wonderful house. Has everything you need. Views incredible. Drawback is that it is on top of mountain. Very windy road to get up to house.

Incredible Unobstructed Mountain Top Views!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We absolutely LOVED Whispering Ridge!! This log home was so cozy and comfortable. The views surpassed our expectations! Eddy, at Silver Creek Real Estate Group, was extremely helpful throughout the booking process and our stay. The main level consists of a well-stocked kitchen, living room, master suite, hall bathroom, another bedroom, and large covered deck. The downstairs consists of a sitting area/TV, additional master suite, hall bathroom, another bedroom, and large deck with fire table. The loft is spacious with a trundle bed and desk. Note: As other reviewers mentioned, the drive up the mountain includes a .9 mile dirt road but turns back to pavement just before the final climb to the house. It is so worth it! We would definitely stay here again!

I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second time renting and the experience was exactly the same. The view is so beautiful and was great to come home to after exploring. Just like last time, Eddy McDonald from Silver Creek Realty came out to help set up the TV. And just like last time, the place needs a good cleaning — webs all over the unnecessary chachkies, lamp shades, etc. It’s a long winding drive up the mountain to get to the rental, but, again, once you’re settled in, it’s all worth it for the view.

The cabin was well equipped and cozy. Do be aware that the last 1.5 miles of paved roadway to the top are curvy, narrow and have grades of up to 20%.

Amazing mountain views

The place is casual and well laid out for small space. The porch is amazing - every morning and evening a new experience with clouds and sunsets. Beds could use new mattresses but rooms were comfortable. WiFi was great and we were able to work easily. Love this area lots of hikes, close to lake Glenville, good restaurants, shopping and golf. A great mountain get away with our family and pups!

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property is secluded and has a beautiful view from the deck and also you can see The mountains just sitting in the LR. We were always so appreciative of the quietness of the property after a day exploring. The property management (Eddie) came right out when we had an issue with the TV. Be prepared for quite a drive up the mountain to the house and the turnaround you have to do in the driveway. Again, worth it for the location and view. The house is relatively clean, but it’s definitely time to scrub down the woodwork, window sills, floors and corners. Dust and webs. House has a lot of decorations and lampshades kind of thing that need to be wet dusted. That said, we would return. The house really is great; just needs some intensive cleaning.

Amazing view!

House was lovely! It was pretty well stocked and comfortable. The view was truly remarkable....never gets old! There was a nice new Weber grill, which was handy. We had a few minor issues early on in our stay and Eddie the property manager was quite responsive and quick to help. Once we figured out the TV it worked really well. The internet connection was very good and we had cell phone service at the house. One bit of constructive criticism would be the rail around the deck should be fortified/replaced. I would not have been able to stay here with small children. It is a very high deck and the railing is inadequate with open gaps large enough for dogs/kids to get through. Would definitely recommend and would rent again.

Great Views and Getaway!

Cabin was wonderful...for both staying in with a fire, sitting on the porch and enjoying the sunset and heading out to nearby hikes and waterfalls.

Million dollar view.

We loved everything about the house. It had everything I needed to cook dinner. We ate out on the deck with the incredible view. Coffee maker didn’t work but within 30 minutes I had a new on delivered. By the management. The drive up the first time was a bit hairy but then we got used to it. Would rent again.

Beautiful views, cozy stay & great location!

This cabin had everything we were looking for - beautiful views, convenient location & relaxing mountain vibes for my husband & our dog to enjoy the weekend! (the address was actually closer to cashiers & highlands than we thought based on the Vrbo estimated location…tip: definitely follow the directions from the rental company, gave clear & easy directions from cashiers!) Kitchen was well stocked, we were able to cook most meals, and even used the grill outside. Having firewood available was great to enjoy an evening fire. Really nice touch to have toiletries in the bathrooms - shampoo, conditioner, soap, etc were all supplied. We absolutely loved hanging out on the deck, gorgeous views! (Although if you are bringing little kids, I’d be a bit wary of the by the edge as the railings were a decorative log, wouldn’t want them leaning against them at the edge) The booklet with info for restaurants & hikes was helpful as well…Thanks for a great stay!

NC Mountain Getaway

The location is close to the top of a mountain and requires about a 25 minute commute from main road to get there but it is worth it for the breathtaking mountain views from the wraparound porch . The house itself is cozy and well appointed, welcoming and pet-friendly . There is so much to do in western NC from hiking to waterfalls, biking, zip lining, shopping , etc. and this location was close to it all. The property manager was very professional and helpful in providing a list of things to do.
