The (non-smoking) apartment on the ground floor is in close proximity to the attractive Rüttenscheider Str. With its variety of shops and restaurants.
The Folkwang Museum is directly opposite; Aalto Theater, Messe Essen, Gruga-Park, university clinic and the judicial district are within walking distance.
You can reach Essen City by tram or in 15 minutes on foot.
There is a fully equipped kitchen with dining area and access to the balcony, the daylight shower room is new. The bedroom has a double bed (180x200)
equipped, the sofa in the living room can be folded out. The facility includes a radio / DVD player and a flat screen TV, WiFi is available.
There are free parking spaces in front of the house and nearby, and there are several underground stops within a 5-minute walk.

Great place to stay!!!

Gertrud was super responsive, and very accessible should we need her. The place was very clean and within walking distance to everything. We used the uber scooters everywhere, which got us from the door to the convention centre in 6.5 minutes. We will stay here again for sure!

Very comfortable home base for Essen/Ruhrgebiet

We had a great stay at Gertrud's Rüttenscheid apartment... it was quite comfortable, and had everything we could need for our weeklong stay in Essen. The apartment looked just like the photos, and was spotlessly clean. The location is excellent, just across the street from the best museum in the Ruhrgebiet (Museum Folkwang), and just a few blocks from two U-Bahn stations that quickly get you to the Essen Hauptbahnhof, and from there, anywhere in the region. But why go anywhere beyond Rüttenscheider Straße? That street (just 1.5 blocks away) has everything you could need- grocery stores, cafes, restaurants, shops, and more. And don't miss the nearby old pub Ampütte- lots of character, great pub food, full of locals both young and old. Gertrud and her family were terrific hosts, making sure we had everything we needed- both our arrival and departure was effortless. Although this apartment would be great for business travelers, we were here to visit all the wonderful industrial tourist sites the Ruhrgebiet has to offer, and the location made it very easy to visit attractions in Essen and beyond. Hope to stay here again next time I come to the Ruhrgebiet, and I would recommend it to anyone that is staying in the area!

Ein wunderbares Zeit in Essen. Die Wohnung liegt zentral und ist gut ausgestattet. Sauber und ruhig. Die Abwicklung war unkompliziert, durch die herzlichen Gastgeber fühlte ich mich gut aufgehoben. Gerne komme ich wieder.

Die Gastgeber waren sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Wir wurden herzlich empfangen. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten gibt es in der Nähe und kostenlose, öffentliche Parkplätze auch. Die Wohnung war sehr sauber und gemütlich eingerichtet. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und würden wieder kommen.

Zwei wunderschöne Wochen

Wir haben 14 Tage in Essen und Umgebung verbracht. als Standort war die Wohnung ruhig und trotzdem super gelegen, alle Versorgungsgeschäfte fußläufig, viele Restaurants. Nähe zu 2 Ubahnen, Museen.Die Gastgeber sind sehr entgegenkommend, freundlich und hilfsbereit, gut erreichbar.Wir kommen gerne wieder.

nette Wohnung in toller Lage

Wohnung ist gut mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln erreichbar, einige Sehenswürdigkeiten sind auch direkt zu Fuß machbar (Folkwangmuseum direkt gegenüber). Schlüsselübergabe unkompliziert mit einigen guten Tipps. Ausstattung gut, es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Wohnung von dichtem Grün umgeben, war ein großer Vorteil bei heißem Wetter, da die Wohnung recht kühl blieb. Für einen Besuch von Essen und dem Ruhrgebiet sehr zu empfehlen!

Sehr nette Gastgeber, zentrale Lage

Von Beginn an habe ich mich wohl gefühlt. Bemerkenswert das Vorhandensein der notwendigsten Dinge, die man am Anfang in einer Ferienwohnung gerne hat. Ebenso der kleine Balkon mit Blick ins Grüne inmitten der Stadt. Freundliche Nachbarn in einem ruhigen Haus. Komme gerne wieder.

Schöne zentral gelegene Wohnung

Lage: zentral und dennoch keine Parkplatzprobleme, mehrere gute Restaurants und auch das Messegelände sind fußläufig erreichbar. Wohnung: liebevoll eingerichtete Wohnung mit top ausgestatteter Küche, hinten heraus ruhig mit schönem kleinen Balkon. Sehr nette Vermieter.

Gelungener Kurzurlaub mit Schwerpunkt Tennis (Senioren).

Teilnahme am Tennishallenturnier für Senioren in der Hafenstraße war möglich. PKW Parkplatzfindung hat auch geklappt. Die Wohnung selbst ist ein Gedicht, mit Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Der persönliche Empfang erspart Stress. Ruhige obwohl zentral gelegene Wohnung. Sehr freundliche, erfahrene und hilfsbereite Gastgeber.

Sehr gut ausgestattete Wohnung günstig gelgen zwischen zwei Straßenbahnhaltestellen

Für zwei, oder auch dreit (Sofa im Wohnzimmer) Personen ist die Wohnung super, auch für längere Aufenthalte. Die Küche ist super ausgestattet, das Wohnzimmer auch, mit Schreibtisch und großem TV. Internet sehr gut. 200 Meter rechts aus der Tür ist der Rüttenscheider Stern, 300 Meter links aus der Tür die Straßenbahnhaltestelle Gemarkplatz. Der Hauptbahnhof ist ruckzuck zu erreichen. Läden, Cafés, das Uniklinikum, das Folkwanmusemus, alles ganz in der Nähe. Vermieterin ist sehr nett und flexibel.

Eine tolle Wohnung mit dem Folkwang-Museum vor der Tür

Die helle Altbau-Wohnung ist liebevoll eingerichtet und bietet alles was man braucht. Trotz ihrer zentralen Lage ist sie ruhig. Die U-Bahn-Haltestelle Rüttenscheider Stern ist wenige Gehminuten entfernt, umgeben von zahlreichen Cafés und Restaurants. Wer Museumsbesuche mag, findet das Folkwang vor der Tür. Der kostenlose Eintritt ermöglicht mehrere kurze Besuche, die gut in die Tagesplanung passen. Das Gastgeber-Ehepaar bereitete uns einen charmanten Empfang, einschließlich eines Willkommens-Weins. Hierher kommen wir gerne wieder.

Sehr ruhig gelegene Wohnung in zentraler Lage; mit allem ausgestattet was man benötigt. Auch Parkplätze (sind nach wenig Suche) vorhanden. Als Ausgangspunt zur Erkundung von Essen und des Ruhrgebietes unbedingt geeignet.

Zentral und ruhig

Zentral gelegene Wohnung, direkt neben Folkwang-Museum, sehr ruhig, Bäcker fußläufig erreichbar. Sehr nette Vermieter. Wir waren mit dem Fahrrad unterwegs und konnten die Industriedenkmäler gut erreichen. Selbst mit der Bahn nach Wuppertal war es kein Problem und sehr günstig (10 Euro p.P. Tagesticket incl. Schwebebahn).Wir haben unseren Urlaub sehr genossen und würden die Wohnung weiterempfehlen!

Unterkunft mitten drin und doch abseits

Industriekultur in Essen und Umgebung

Die Wohnung ist hervorragend für einen Kurzurlaub in Essen geeignet. Es waren alle notwendigen Ausstattungen vorhanden, besonders reichhaltig war die Küche ausgestattet. Die Wohnung liegt zentral (Folkwang-Museum und nahe der Rüttenscheider Straße), ist aber sehr ruhig. Gerne wieder.
