Clean, rustic cabin. Kitchen was complete. Only thing lacking was a hot water kettle but heating water in the microwave worked fine. The no-moon (new-moon, technically) allowed for spectacular views of the dark-sky stars. Burgers at the rustic Plush General Store nearby were delicious. Would definitely recommend and we are looking forward to staying there again. Out “in the middle of nowhere” which was exactly its attraction.

Clean and comfortable, considering the location, it was a value. The sunstone mines are relatively close by and the Royal Peacock mine is driving distance.

The cabin was very clean. Heater/AC worked well. Kitchen area was perfect for meal preparation for us two. The bed and pull-out couch were comfy and cosy with warm comforters. The view from the cabin is spectacular. It feels like a remote location though is within a half mile from the town of Plush.

This property is not appropriate for an RV that is taller than 10 ft or requires more than a 110 plug in.It does have an amazing panoramic view.

We had a great time staying at this cabin! The space was clean and comfortable for our family of 4. We really enjoyed the views, as well as all the activities that the area provides. We will certainly be back.

Upon arriving at the cabin we were greeted by Dusty the cat. If you're a cat lover, you will enjoy him. The cabin had a very comfortable bed which our friends used. We slept on the hideabed sofa which was surprisingly great. We all slept well and felt rested each day. We spent a couple days looking for sunstones. Upon arriving back to the cabin one night, we were greeted by a covey of quail. The serene, quiet wonderful views made for a fantastic get away. We will definitely do this again!

This cabin was glorious! It was stocked with everything we needed, easy instructions, views that take your breath away, and cats! Yes, cats! My kids fell in love with one of the sweet kitties that roams the property. I do recommend arriving in daylight hours if you can. And bring insect repellent (that isn't just a cabin area thing, thats an Oregon thing). We were incredibly thankful for the air-conditioning.

Ranch getaway

Wonderful ranch life for a weekend. The little cabin had hot water issues so we were upgraded to the big cabin and loved it. Very spacious and clean. The best part was the wrap around porch with a beautiful view of the surrounding ranch land.

A/C failed after one day. Smelled gas on other occasions, ended up sleeping with windows open to dissipate and mitigate gas smell. Repeated inquiries to Host regarding issues were either non-responsive or went unanswered.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Hart Mountain Cabin. I had gone there for a break from life and for doing some astrophotography in Bortle 1 skies, and it didn’t disappoint. The cabin was well stocked with various amenities and communication with the host was good, although check-in check-out instructions were non-existent but still painless. The only real issue I had was the heating unit. This was addressed by the host promptly after the first night, but bled into the next couple of days there as well after it was supposedly fix. Wouldn’t have been an issue if it wasn’t near freezing outside at night, but I will say the cabin was well insulated and held heat well. Bugs did get into the cabin, as the seal is damaged along the bottom of the front door. And during the day, there seems to be a wasp problem on the front porch, but spray was provided to kill them as needed. I would definitely stay there again for additional imaging, if given the opportunity, and I would recommend it to anyone who is wanting to disconnect from society for a bit. Very peaceful and quiet.
