About the host
Hosted by Nick Armentrout
I am a holistic farmer, husband, father, business owner, horseman and shepherd. I have ranched in WY, MT and ID, and returned home to Maine because it is a remarkable state with 4 distinct seasons and hard working, honest people. Together with my wife, Sarah, I have cared for this little corner of the world the past 24 years. We raise hay, cereal grains, firewood, poultry and sheep/wool/lamb. Our also farm hosts a nationally recognized equine assisted therapy and sport program, Carlisle Academy. We farm organically using mixed power - tractors and draft horses. I am passionate about the natural world and believe that most people yearn for more time in the outdoors, and that grazing animals have an important role to play in healing our soils and planet. I believe that hard work is its own reward, that life is all about relationships, and I can't live without real maple syrup.
