About this property

The Door to the Great Outdoors! You won't want to leave....

Stepping out of our beautiful handmade front door onto the patio, feels like you just stepped out in to your own private national park. The endless star gazing in the evening will amaze you. The peacefulness of the area will make you want to never leave. There are no other houses around our cabin, you are surrounded by the Great Outdoors. Several hills around to hike and more hiking areas in close proximity. The Grand Canyon is just a 45 minute drive away. The town of Williams is just 20 minutes away. We lovingly built this cabin ourselves, known as Nye's cabin. With the ceiling being knotty pine and the walls, blue stain rustic, the cabin has a lovely wood scent. We are completely off grid. We have a solar panel with state of the art, lithium batteries, and we do have a water tank. Even though the house is off the grid, you would never know it. You have all brand new appliances and amenities. You may see birds, jack rabbits, cottontail rabbits, coyotes, deer, elk, and even perhaps a bobcat! The animals are outside, sorry no pets allowed.

Wonderful Cabin

We completely enjoyed this beautiful property AND, while being way out in a dark sky location, it gave us very easy access to the Grand Canyon, the town of Williams, Walnut Canyon and so much more. It had everything we needed and so much more!

Anniversary 27!

This has been one of our favorites of all time! The extra touches were thoughtful and really appreciated, (robes, snacks, etc) Side note: best laid out kitchen and amenities in a small space I've ever seen. We hope to be back, soon!

Grand Canyon Vacation

This home is one of the best equipped, well designed, and unique places we've ever visited. The location is remote although there is no shortage of those things you'd like in order to be comfortable. The kitchen is designed and equipped as you'd want it to be, maybe better. The bedrooms were very comfortable and there were personal touches everywhere. This is a home and not a rental. We enjoyed three days at the Grand Canyon (about 45 minutes away) and a couple of evenings watching lightning storms! The drive to the park was easy and the location gave us the opportunity to visit Williams, AZ, a city on the old Route-66.

Lovely cabin

From the moment that I walked in the door, I did not want to leave. This cabin is beautifully decorated and has everything you would need. The host Jill has paid attention to every detail. From the arrival snacks to the robes and luxurious towels to the cooking utensils to the furniture, everything is perfect! We stayed 3 nights, prepared several meals and explored the surroundings. This cabin is remote (the stargazing was like nowhere else I have been) yet still close enough to find a lot of fun things to do. I have already forwarded the information to family and friends interested in a getaway. I will definitely be returning!

Just like home with the added view!

The cabin is impeccable. Everything you need and then some. Our host, Jill, provided toiletries, coffee, creamer, yogurt and juice. Basically everything you need. The location was central to many sites with our primary stop being the Grand Canyon. We would highly recommend this cabin and, if we head back to canyon again, will definitely rebook.

Awesome Cabin and View!

We stayed here in June on our family vacation and it was fantastic. It's a little hard to get to, but it's worth the drive. It was easy access to the Grand Canyon and the views were amazing! We will definitely keep this one on our list. Thanks!

Thank you for sharing your wonderful property with us! The cabin is so cozy and beautiful! Everything you need for a getaway and then some! Kitchen is stocked, living room is comfy and the bedrooms and bathroom are roomy and perfect with everything you need. After hiking out in the Grand Canyon all day, coming home to the cabin and cooking meals and winding down was perfect! Excellent communication with the owner as well. Look no further and book your trip!

Incredible Property - Off Grid Meets Luxury

I had some idea what to expect from the beautiful photos and description of this amazing off-grid cabin outside of the Grand Canyon. We were blown away by the experience. Jill is an awesome host, with little touches throughout that made our experience unforgettable, including a pre-made setting of their wood burning stove which all we had to do was light. Impossibly dark skies, cozy interior, luxurious beds... we looked forward to returning to our cabin each night. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare delicious meals. I wasn't expecting off-grid living to be this luxurious. Book without hesitation on this one; we loved every minute.

Amazing!

Without question this is one of the best short term rental experiences my family has had. This beautiful, modern tiny house has all the amenities located in a very remote area about 40 minutes (driving) from the Grand Canyon. It’s impossible to describe all the little details the owners have made to create a wonderful and comfortable experience. I cannot recommend this place highly enough!

Best Stay

Ditto what all of the other positive reviews had to say. Our only regret was not making it a 2 or more nights stay! My wife kept remarking about how cute all of the furnishings and thoughtful effects of the cabin were. She even mentioned we should ask Jill if we could hire her as our interior designer for our personal home! I told her I think she probably has enough on her plate! If you stay here and are not satisfied, you need to seek serious professional help!

Perfect remote getaway

We loved our stay at the cabin! The hosts have gone above and beyond to provide everything you could possibly need snacks, lots of towels, dish soap, laundry facilities and detergent, cable, fire pit supplies, etc. Being so remote was different for us but once we got over being a little intimidated by driving on the dirt roads we discovered it was just what we needed! The beds were very comfortable. Everything was immaculately clean. Would love to come back someday.

Peace, solitude and perfection

Wow! Need to unplug and recharge? This is the place. Jill and Jason have such a wonderful place away from everyone yet close enough to see all the sights the area has to offer. Their property is beautiful and has absolutely everything you need. The sky here is so dark at night that I swear you can see every star. Sit back with some tunes and a cocktail and watch the show develop above. 10/10 a must visit.

Picture Perfect Cabin

Perfect sized cabin for a weekend getaway! Exactly as pictured and even nicer in person. The cabin itself is beautiful -- very well maintained inside and out. Kitchen had everything you could need, everything was like new. Good sized bedrooms with plenty of blankets. Close enough to the main road, but far enough away for a secluded camping feel. 10/10 would recommend and would definitely stay again.

The BEST Hosts!

We absolutely loved our time at Jill’s cabin. The photos caught my eye because of island and the amount of usable space in such a small footprint. After reading the description of the stars in the listing, I decided to surprise my wife with a one night stay. That was a big mistake because we didn’t want to leave. Next time, we’re booking at least two nights. The amenities and hospitality is exemplary. Jill stocks the cabin with great essentials that saves a trip the grocery store. The cleanliness was top notch. That goes for inside and outside the home. The firewood was stacked neatly, ready to be used. The bottom line is, if you have the chance, give this place a try. If you’re not there, I’ll be there. Thanks again, Jill!

Wonderful stay in a beautiful area

Myself .y husband and our two daughters stayed at this cabin for 3 days while we visited the grand canyon and surrounding areas. The cabin is gorgeous. New and with all needed amenities but still cozy and quiant. The land the cabin sits on was a great escape. Views of mountains and nature. My girls enjoyed doing little hikes around the house. Grand canyon is about 40 minutes away which was convenient. Small, cute town of Williams was about 20 minutes south. This was a fun area to shop and have dinner. We also visited Flagstaff for a day. Bearizona was a hit with our kiddos and is only about 15 minutes south. Beds were very comfy after a long day of hiking and sitting around the fire was a nice way to end our day. The hosts were very responsive and kind. If we make it out this way again, we will be sure to rerun to this little slice of heaven.

About the host

Hosted by Jill

Host profile image
We are Jill and Jason. Jason grew up in Rhode Island but has lived in Alaska since 1978. I am a Colorado native. We met online! We married in 2016 in Estes Park Colorado. We are avid hikers, travelers, nature lovers, and rock climbers.

Why they chose this property

We fell in love with this area for its four seasons and the peaceful feel of this area. We love that it is remote, but you can be in town in 20 minutes. We have three shows we watch everyday; in the morning it is the sunrise and watching the birds and bunnies eat the food we give them. At night, it is the sunset. We never miss it. There is a great feel to this cabin. This is the 3rd house Jason has built, this is my first house! We built it all basically ourselves, with a little help from friends and family. You will feel the love in the house when you first step in. It is a great base for all you want to do, see, and experience in the surrounding areas.

What makes this property unique

No neighbors! No light pollution, it is very dark here at night. No noise pollution. Brand new everything! We just finished building it in the fall of 2020. Since then, we have had friends and family staying at the cabin, making great memories. We would love for you to make some amazing memories here too!
