Very cluttered house

We booked for 5 nights check in with Dominique who lived opposite a friendly lady The house is in a quiet village no amenities parking convenient right outside the house is on a quiet street and pleasant enough but inside it was full of stuff every cupboard and shelf etc loads of plates cooking utensils big serving dishes I have never seen anything like it before there was no room for anything we had brought there was way too much furniture in living area not much room to sit not very comfortable at all bedroom ok all very clean but nowhere to put anything or really hang anything there was a wardrobe with hanging but too much room taken up with vacuum cushions etc just left everything in the bags it might suit some people for 1 or 2 nights but we could not make it work for our stay so we left after 1 night I think a clear out would make guests more comfortable

Beautiful home in an idyllic setting

If you want to visit the champagne region of France and have easy access to lots of local small champagne houses for tastings, this property is perfect. The village is very small, but the property is within walking distance of 6 local champagne producers and a short drive from Suzanne, where there are excellent restaurants, a supermarket and a market. From our first contact with the owner, everything was made easy for us. The house was spotlessly clean, the kitchen is well equipped, we loved the log burner and there was an enclosed garden where we could sit out and our dogs were safe. There is ample parking directly outside the property. All the enquiries we made were answered very quickly, and when forgot a few items of clothing when we left, the owner got in touch with us immediately and arranged to post them back. I would love to go back and stay there again the future

Quaint, cosy cottage

The photographs are accurate but cannot convey the feeling of this property: enchanting, spacious garden, super-equipped and exceptionally clean. The owners are lovely people who respond immediately to any request and are very helpful (e.g. taking us directly to the home of a champagne producer 100m away, Les Perles de Sarah). The village is delightful and well placed to reach all sorts of things - nature, history, champagne route, art, towns and cities. We'll be returning as soon as possible!

Bijou Gite

Lovely bijou gite, perfectly clean, plenty facilities, lots packed into a small space but easily big enough for 2. The private garden was a lovely hideaway for relaxing and sunbathing and the owner was really helpful. We hope to be back next year to spend more time exploring the area!

Lovely, cosy cottage in Champagne region.

We had a great stay in Broyes. Its a good centre to explore the region and the cottage is comfortable and well equipped. Dominique, the owner, was charming and most helpful.

quiet peaceful village 5 minutes from the town of sezanne

the hosts were across the road from the appartment and were helpful without being intrusive, the house was good base to visit the various town and cities in the champage area. Sezanne has a number of resturaunts but it is quiet town with limited night life

Lovely little house

Just right for two people. Well equipped, lovely sunny secluded back garden, comfy bed, good parking space at front. The wifi worked well, as did the fire once I'd worked out not to close the glass door completely, until the logs were burning properly. Dominique was very helpful and told us of lots of places to visit.

Lovely authentic French house

We had a lovely stay in this beautiful house. It is pleasantly decorated to match it's grand old age. It is so good of Dominique to share her family heirlooms which makes it even more special. The kitchen has everything you need and is good quality (not the normal scratched teflon). It's warm with the central heating but made cosy with the log burner fire. Everything was spotlessly clean, the bed very comfy and the shower great - important things when you are on holidays 😊 The courtyard out back was perfect for our two dogs and is a lovely setting. There is history in the village if you want to wander and take it in, and you are very close to many other places to visit. We would highly recommend this gorgeous place to stay.

Fantastic holiday - great location for our first trip abroad with our 2 dogs, couldn't be better!

A beautiful cottage - everything we could possibly have needed was provided. Gorgeous enclosed garden perfect for our dogs. Our hosts Dominique & Jean-Paul were wonderful and made us feel very welcome. Very comfortable bed, great shower & well equipped kitchen. The village was very quiet - exactly what we wanted. Plenty of lovely places to go close by & nice walks for the dogs. Our favourite place (apart from the garden) was Hautviller for champagne tasting! Would definitely recommend this properly to others & would love to return again. Thank you Dominique! X

Excellent location for champagne region.

Very Quiet village which suited us. Property well equipped, maybe because of size, over equipped. Limited kitchen worktop area, lovely sunny and private garden, but let down by poor garden furniture. Disappointed that the bikes, which were advertised on the available facilities, were not available, more so, because this beautiful area of France is ideal for cycling. Unfortunately did not meet the owners due to their unforeseen personal circumstances.

Authentically French !!

It was a delight to stay in this very beautiful little cottage in Broyes in the stunning region of Champagne. Most comfortable, superb amenities, sunny enclosed back yard, quaintly sitting near the village church with the charming Dominique available to assist. We loved having the cottage to come home to after a day exploring...picturesque landscapes and so many amazing villages...and of course champagne !! Thank you Dominique for your caring hospitality...we hope to return one day.

Cute little cottage in quaint French village

My husband and I spent 5 nights here with our dog just before Christmas. The cottage is very cute, small and cosy. The heaters work really well and kept the place warm during the colder days. As did the large fire place in the living room area. The kitchen is well equiped with all the basics you need. The courtyard in the back is private and larger than we expected. We didn't use it much as it was cold out and we spent our days touring different villages but if we went in summer it'd be a great place to eat meals or enjoy the sun :) The village is very cute and small however it is just made up of people's homes. No supermarket, shops or restaurants so a car is essential. Sezanne is an easy short drive away and has nice restaurants, bakeries and a huge supermarket (Leclerc). Broyes is well located within one hour from great cities and villages in the Champagne region. We recommend Reims, Chalons en Champagne, Troyes, Epernay and Hautevillers (this little village is a must!).

Comfortable charming French cottage

If looking for a delightful French experience this cottage is for you. The cottage is very comfortable with a very good cooking space and all set in a quiet historical village. The cottage is within driving distance of shops and champagne tasting but a car is essential to do this. The landlord Dominique is very helpful and helped us out when we needed information. We will definitely stay here if we are ever again in the district.

Absolutely wonderful

A fantastic location for a couple - more than that would be cramped. The description on the website is accurate, except for the very big inaccuracy that it isn't in Fromentières! It's in Broyes which is almost fifteen miles away. Broyes is a tranquil and pretty village, set on the edge of a vine-covered slope with spectacular views over the vast plain to the south. It has no shops but does have seven champagne producers! The cottage is lovely, cosy, comfortable and well-equipped, with a secluded garden. It consists of two rooms: a kitchen/living room with all the kitchen appliances you could want including microwave, dishwasher and washing machine, and a bedroom with a very comfortable queen-size bed and ensuite toilet/shower room. There is wi-fi, which is powerful enough for surfing the Web but not for streaming video. The owner is friendly, helpful and generous (and speaks good English). The nearest town, Sézanne, is about three miles away; it is pleasant and worth a stroll round - the Office de Tourisme which abuts the church in the main square is very helpful. The best boulangerie we found was Ronde des Pains, close to the main square. We did our supermarket shopping (and bought fuel) at E Leclerc which is south of the town centre, on the road towards Troyes. Sézanne has markets on Wednesday and Saturday, but these and other local markets were generally quite low-key and disappointing. The best we visited for fresh produce was in Epernay on Saturday; the best for other stuff was Romilly-sur-Seine on Monday. Places we visited and would recommend: - Reims for the cathedral and St Rémi's basilica. - Epernay for the Avenue de Champagne and cellar tours (we did Mercier and de Castellane). - Châlons-en-Champagne - a good barge tour and an interesting city. - The "beach" at Marcilly-sur-Seine. - The medieval walled town at Provins. - Boat trip on the Marne from Cumières. - Dom Pérignon's abbey church at Hautvillers. - Réveillon castle. - Louis Braille's birthplace at Coupvray (very near Disneyland Paris) - though we had a particular interest in the subject and it might not be worth the drive if you didn't. - Local champagne producers - we visited Pierre Pinard in Sézanne (good tour of the production facility) and Yves Jacopé in Broyes. See subsequent feedback for the rest!

Lovely place!

Much better than we thought it would be! I don't think the pictures do it justice enough, it's actually very roomy, bright and airy! It's a good price and thought it would fairly average but we were really pleasantly surprised! The garden is big and sunny, big comfy bed, great shower and everything you possibly need in the kitchen - extremely well equipped! The owner was very friendly, lives over the road. Loads of local guides and info in the place. Broyes is on the champagne route and you can walk to the vines on the south east side of the village for very pretty walk. Lots of independent champagne producers, we loved Yves Jacope down the road, excellent prestige champers for a bargain -£9.50 a bottle! And decent tasting too! We walked in, they don't speak much English but get the gist of what you're there for. Broyes is strange place, lots of houses but very quiet and no shops. Suzanne is only down the road (5mins drive) which has all the shops and supermarkets you need, would defiantly recommend

Excellent cottage in quiet village

We had a great stay at this lovely cottage in Broyes. Straight forward to locate with a sat nav and easy getting the keys from Dominique. The cottage is equipped with everything that you would need - no complaints having cooked most evenings. Sezanne is nearby for shops, a couple of nice restaurants. Village very peacful and the garden is a lovely place to relax. Went on a great walk one day from the village, through vineyards, forest, etc. Overall, an excellent base to explore Champagne - would definitely recommend staying here!
