Stunning views, slopeside, welcoming cabin with hot tub and room for everyone
**FOR FEBRUARY BOOKING, PLEASE CONTACT DIRECTLY FOR DETAILS** Powder Mountain does live up to its name. It’s one of the most remote ski areas on the Wasatch Range. It can be a journey to get there but a bucket list checked once arrived. It truly has it’s own vibe.
This rustic cabin with chinked logs is everything desired, with all of the luxuries of home, nestled in the beautiful mountain slopes of Powder Mountain Ski Resort. Newly outfitted. The floor-plan has two living areas so that everyone can have their space, and the lower level has a ping-pong table. The Cabin has large windows bringing the outdoors inside. The views are elevated, looking straight down the canyon to Ogden Valley. This is what you gain for driving 5-miles up the inclined road. A large expansive deck features an outdoor grill for cooking under a blue bird sky. This property has a private hot tub to star gaze and watch night skiing after a long day on the slopes.
This Cabin is located on a private street close to the main road connecting the Sundown lift parking lot to the Timberline Lodge parking lot. The road is paved to the garage (unique in this subdivision because some locations have to snowmobile to cabins) for easy access. Snowplow service on Highway 158 is from 6:00 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. so late-night check-ins are not advised!
A 4 WHEEL DRIVE VEHICLE IS MANDATORY FOR THIS SKI AREA
From Wolf Creek in Eden to Powder Mountain, it’s a 5-mile climb to the ski area. Going up is easy but coming down it’s best to put the 4-wheel drive in a low gear to control speed. Depending on snow levels, guests can strap on their skis and maneuver to the Sundown Lift to access Lighting Ridge cat skiing (need a pass beforehand). Lighting Ridge then leads to Paradise Lift in the middle of the ski area. At the end of the day there is an access trail that leads back to the Cabin’s private road.
Powder Mountain has a variety of skiing opportunities from cat skiing to night skiing with the convenience of on-mountain ski and snowboarding rentals. Restaurants at the Timberline Lodge include the popular Powder Keg that offers live music most nights, draft beer and bar food such as chicken wings, burgers and kale salads. Upstairs at the Timberline Lodge is a cafeteria that is perfect for families, serving Lucky Slice pizza, breakfast burritos, burgers and other comfort food. At the top at Hidden Lake the menu is more Mexican Cantina style with street tacos and taco salads.
We recommend that guests plan to purchase groceries on the first day of arrival for the duration of the reservation or arrange for grocery service. The Valley Market in Eden, Utah is the closest grocery store and the Utah State Liquor Store is located in the Wolf Creek Arbor Lodge at the bottom of the road in the Ogden Valley. Grocery service is available through Champagne Powder Tours & Concierge. This includes liquor store deliveries too. Remember in Utah that Liquor Stores are separate from grocery stores and closed on Sundays. Better to plan ahead, stock the property and leave the days open to enjoy your vacation.
Powder Mountain is known for its “All Natural” Snow. It’s legendary for its quality of light powder snow. Many believe it's the best in North America. It truly has its Vibe.

Property is very comfortable and nicely laid out to enjoy a family gathering of 8+ people. The hot tub is a nice way to recover from long day of skiing. Location is nice to be close to the mountain. Everything was as advertised and very nice. Great time...
Great house, very comfortable with lots of room. Short walk to the lifts and you can ski down to the house from the Lightening Ridge lift. The only knock on this spot was that there is a steep driveway and we had to shovel off the snow and throw some salt on it in order to pull up to the house, even w/ 4x4. We got some snow on the final day and had to dig out the entire driveway to get our cars out. Luckily an snow plow serviced the access road just in time for us to hit the road.
My family had a wonderful stay at Hale Pow Mow. Easy access to chair lifts, plenty of comfortable beds, a stocked kitchen, and great views overlooking the mountain. Hosts were extremely communicative and made the logistics a breeze. We hope to come back soon.
This house is beautiful, has a great location, and is the most well stocked house that I've ever stayed in. Everything was organized and labeled to help make it easier to use. The property managers were responsive to all questions that I had. My family had a great time here and I would definitely stay again.
This was our first time to Pow Mow and we were blown away by the experience. Aside from the 2’ of snow, the house was perfectly located near the ski school lift for the kids but also a short drive to the “main” lift area where the Powder Keg is located. It had plenty of room and a great hang out area in the great room/kitchen. The kids had a blast sledding down the hill but the house and the grown ups enjoyed the hot tub. Would highly recommend.
We couldn't have imagined a better chalet for our family ski-trip. This beautiful house very comfortably fit 13 of us, spanning 3 generations. We were comfortable when all spread out in our rooms, living room and kitchen, and we were comfortable when all congregating together. There was room to cook together, to play games by the fire, to enjoy the hot tub, and even for all 13 of us to put on our ski gear in the basement before skiing out to the slopes. We skied out and in (which will get even easier as the season goes on with more snow). Brian delivered groceries, and in a wonderfully nice touch, the kitchen was quite well stocked with not only the basics but other unused products left by past guests. We appreciated that! We also found tools, tape, rubber bands, batteries, and other little conveniences that made such a difference. Thank you for a wonderful week, and we look forward to being back!
Hale PowMow is an premium property with an ideal location and exceptional views. We’re PowMow regulars and this is the best place we’ve rented. The property manager, Brian, is great. Not only is his service and communication exceptional, he has amazing local knowledge. We will definitely be back.
We cannot say enough great things about this property and its management. The communication from Brian, who manages the property, was timely and very insightful. We had a couple feet of snow dumped on us across the week that we stayed there, and he was always very timely with scheduling the plow so that we could get in and out of the garage and subdivision. Brian also is available to do shuttle pick ups from the airport and other places, and also was there to deliver groceries and wine from Eden and Ogden, which was very convenient considering the poor weather. The lodge itself was very nice, a very rustic look that was authentic and pleasing. There was a kind and useful care package in the kitchen when we arrived — hand sanitizer, chap stick, hot chocolate, soup, etc. we used it all:) The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was amply stocked. Wonderful hot tub on the balcony overlooking the sundown lift. In hindsight, we rented cars but should have just used Brian’s shuttle service from SLC and the free and frequent bus system on the mountain to get around. Thanks again for the fabulous stay!
What an amazing place! The house was amazing and had everything you could think to need and more. The communication with the owner was fantastic and they went the extra mile to make our Christmas stay perfect! I highly recommend for ski in/out access as well. I hope to stay there again.
