Karen and Peter have set the bar pretty high, and super-host does not do them justice. Between the attention to every detail in the home and experience, the wolf call serenade, the professional chef level food and the stunning scenery, this was the best Vrbo stay I have ever had.
Hot tub was great, especially with such a good view, cabin was an excellent standard and we loved the location. My daughter loved the woodpecker door knocker!
Great place! Amazing location with beautiful views! The cabin was clean, with a well stocked kitchen and was spacious with plenty of room for 7 of us and a puppy. We loved that the Wolf Centre and Buffalo ranch were within walking distance! It was a pleasure to meet our host Karen, her hospitality was outstanding and she made us feel so welcome! We would definitely recommend staying here!
For a small family reunion of 6 adults, The Lodge was an outstanding choice. Loved that the 3 bedrooms all had king size beds that were so comfortable. We made use of the hot tub while listening to the wolves howling.A beautiful private and quiet location that I would recommend to anyone. Thanks Karen!
We stayed two nights as our base for skiing in Rogers Pass and Kicking Horse. The Lodge was perfect for two small families with lots of space for hanging out and a big yard to play in the snow.
The cabin was well decorated, clean, and well stocked. The owners have notes for every question you might have! The back deck and hot tub were a nice place to hang out. We were able to hear the wolves howl, and saw a fox and deer!
We had a fabulous stay at Kicking Horse Kabins! It’s about 12-15 minutes outside of Golden, a perfect location for hikes, access to parks and an overall peaceful stay! And a quick drive into town for dinners etc. The cabin is as advertised and has everything we needed. Brought our 2 dogs who had the time of their life!! The cabin is vey close to some awesome trails that are sparsely populated, if anyone. Karen is a gracious host and checked on us a couple of times. Loved everything about it.
Cabin was spacious and clean. Beds were comfortable and King Beds are our favourite. Lots of amenities and the hot tub was a real treat after sledding or skiing all day. The host was available to help with any issues we had and they were dealt with in a timely manner. Great holiday for the family.
The cabin was terrific! It appeared to be exceptionally well built - spectacular bathrooms, nice fireplace, and well - stocked kitchen. We didn’t use the hot tub. We couldn’t figure out how to use the TV to get current programming. In fact, we stayed at a Hilton in Calgary and had the same problem - needed instructions. A special bonus was the next door wolf center. I don’t recall any notice of it. We stumbled on it & it was fantastic. The cabin was exactly what we hoped for in exploring the western side of the Canadian Rockies.
The location to some of the parks was good. The kitchen had to be cleaned by me when we got there. Sticky messes in the fridge, crumbs on counters and tables. We were sad to discover there was no toaster. The morning we were trying to pack up, get some breakfast, and leave, a worker showed up to work in the house. We felt very uncomfortable and rushed. The house was large and had plenty of room. The yard was set up for nice picnics and outdoor sitting. Plenty of blankets and towels for the hot tub.
We visited in the winter, the place was nice, I missed the email with checkin instructions, but it worked out well with the host. We did think from the listing there was a clothes washer but only has a dish washer.
Our family of 5 based ourselves in Golden when we visited the Canadian Nat’l Parks in the area. Although it was a little far to the popular Banff park and nearby attractions we loved exploring the town of Golden. The cabin was roomy and comfortable. Only two caveats: the cabin doesn’t have a washing machine in the unit as noted in the listing. And although we were asked to leave the kitchen orderly and clean we really weren’t given sufficient cleaning supplies - (kitchen sponges, Comet, scrubbers etc) to do so. Just a worn scrubbing brush. I made do as best I could. It was a minor inconvenience. Loved being woken up to the serenade of the wolves at the nearby sanctuary. Be sure and pay them a visit!
Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Umgebung ist ruhig und fantastisch, die Ausstattung ist optimal, die Einrichtung sehr gemütlich und geschmackvoll. Wir würden jeder Zeit wieder kommen.
