Please note, property is next to a freeway, so it may be noisy with windows and doors open.

Loved this place so much! Even though the reviews weren’t good I tried it anyway and was glad I did! Was everything I needed and more! Nice cute place very private ! Yes traffic and cars are annoying but small price for the stay ! Will definitely again if need be

Convenient for Convention Center

My colleague and I had an excellent stay in the rental overall. It was a longer walk than we anticipated to our conference in the Pasadena Convention Center, but a VERY quick and easy drive over. Convenient to restaurants, shopping - everything we needed.

The Perfect Set Up

Very cute house within a 10 minute walking distance from Old Town Pasadena. The host was incredibly responsive and everything was perfect. It was very clean and centrally located. We would stay here again.

Nice place, attentive host.

We appreciated this place. Its location was well situated for the convention center, it was very clean, quite comfortable, and the host was extremely attentive. It was a bit tricky to find given how it's situated, but it ended up being fine. Was thankful for the gated secure parking, too. Convenient.

Great place, super convenient to Old Town Pasadena

The property has two great bedrooms, really well-appointed kitchen and very convenient appliances and amenities. It is a small, cozy house that is really secure and very nice inside. The neighborhood leaves a little to be desired, but it is super convenient for Old Town Pasadena, and I really appreciate the clear communication by the host. Highly recommend!

Convenient location, fairly priced.

If you’re looking for a place that’s walkable to old town Pasadena at a good price in comparison to nearby locations, this is it. Entry into the home was easy and the owner was very communicative, making sure we knew the rules and how to get in. The home looks remodeled but the workmanship is not great. It was clean and had bare necessities in the kitchen. It is missing a wine bottle opener though. The freeway noise is like white noise if you’re ok with that. The neighbors did have an outdoor party one night, but it wasn’t bad. A good place to stay with friends or for a family with older kids.

Not as close to Old Pasadena as we thought

Our stay was OK, but not exactly what we were expecting. We were trying to stay near our son in Old Pasadena, so the location circle in the listing looked ideal. The actual property was a 15 minute walk across the freeway. It was doable, but not what we thought we were getting. The house was very clean and was well equipped with new appliances. However, the floors and sofa were very worn, and some of the bathroom faucet fixtures didn’t operate properly.

Overall my stay was fine but this space would be absolutely lovely and five-stars if it weren’t for how dirty things were upon arrival. Knives, forks, and mugs had food drippings (?)and smudges on them. Wall handles for the towels/toilet paper were falling out of the wall. Stains and food and grime on the couch and looked like someone sat on the top of it right before we came? I found a nymph roach in the guest shower. It felt like the only thing that was cleaned before we arrived were the beds and linens. Smelled like laundry detergent and it was a relief that they were comfortable! If you’re scent free definitely communicate that to them early to avoid. I didn’t have time to complain about it or make changes to a different location but felt like the state of the space didn’t feel worth the money. I hope that this review is helpful to others who are to come. The contact for the property was prompt and kind. I had a hard time with check in and found the Google nest system confusing to use even with the instructional video they sent. I ended up ordering a space heater the first night at 2am so I’d stop shivering.Ultimately though all they need is to *actually* clean this spot before someone arrives (and make sure soap is in the showers — not just shampoo!) and they’ll be fine.

Drafty windows/Hvac

Overall the house served the purpose intended. It was a bit chilly at night due to the older windows. The thermostat is in the main room and the vents in the bedrooms. So if you have the door closed at night the main room cools down due to the drafty windows and kicks the heater on. I does of heat one night but opened my door the following night which made it tolerable.

Place looks cute, but shabby

Comfy beds, but several things need fixing: the fence to the property is chained shut on one side and doesn’t close on the other side, towel racks and toilet paper dispenser dangle off of the wall (bolts affixing them are loose), the thermostat is not secured to the wall and tricky to use, kitchen laminate floor boards are coming up, and the entry keypad is finicky. There was no hot water in the shower and garbage in the yard.

Disappointing

The host, Leon, was accessible, but not completely accommodating. I want to point out some issues future potential renters should be aware of.   The house is right across from a freeway and very noisy.  Because of this, the outdoor space is unusable.  I did not see the freeway on any VRBO photos. The neighbors were loud our first night, having a disturbing domestic dispute.  The area outside the house was littered with beer cans and bottles and the neighborhood in general was unkept. Not a neighborhood I would feel comfortable walking in. Most importantly, there was NO HOT WATER.  The host advised us to run the shower for 10-15 minutes and to reset the outside water heater.  I'm not a fan of fixing things at a rental or running water during a drought.  Regardless, the shower curtain rod didn't stay up, so showers in the on-suite bathroom were out.  We kept the host informed of issues, but they were not repaired prior to our leaving.  The house itself was ok, clean, well equipped kitchen.  We didn't cook, but the pot, pans, etc were there.

I probably would not leave this review if the owner of the property was at least a little bit willing to work with my situation. This is an old house with no insulation and thin windows and it’s 25 feet from interstate 10. It’s in a bit of a shaky neighborhood I didn’t feel safe that maybe just because I live in a good neighborhood. The under the house crawl access was open and I could hear something under the house as well as the highway all night. I was here for business with my wife who is a light sleeper. She got zero sleep I knew I wasn’t gonna get enough to do the work I had to do. I told Host Of our situation he was not willing to work with us whatsoever I offered to split the four-day trip with him. We left after the first night And Got a hotel. I feel like since we only stayed one night even though I had a reservation for four he should’ve been a little bit flexible understanding my situation he was not at all. Saying that he was strict on his terms sometimes in life we need to understand that people should be kind to each other. This trip ended up costing me an extra $800 because there was no way I could’ve stayed another night in this house. That being said it was clean and the bed was comfortable enough. There are three nice flatscreen TVs and the kitchen has a new countertops the refrigerator was clean. Unfortunately the place was just Not someplace I felt comfortable or safe. There was a gate on the driveway That completely fell over when I Closed it pia

This was located next to a freeway but we were fine with this. It gave us quick access after a night at a concert. It was very clean and centrally located. We would stay here again.

Cozy retreat

Great place for 2-4 people to stay comfortably. We live close and it was still nice for us to get a quick, cozy getaway to come together with friends. Would definitely recommend for anyone who wants to visit Pasadena as you’re just a hop away from old town. It is off the freeway but with the doors closed, you’d never know it. It’s not noisy at all. Loved that there were televisions set up in both rooms and the common area. The dining and living areas are small but the large kitchen island is suitable for casual dinner and drinks and even board games, plus the entire common area is open concept so it doesn’t feel cramped at all. Kitchen is fully stocked with everything operating. Altogether well-designed and nicely furnished. The bedrooms are quite spacious considering the house size as well. Loved the outdoor space. In warm weather, you could definitely enjoy a summer night outside utilizing the patio furniture. We only had one car, but looks like two could fit (just keep in mind the width is single-car). Overall, had a lovely stay and would stay there again and recommend to friends and family visiting. The host was incredibly gracious and prompt in responses. Very kind and made sure we were happy with our stay.
