Sleeps 16+ in various bedrooms from spacious to small. Huge great room with central fireplace and bar. Pool table, two pianos, foosball, ping-pong. Two porches. The star attraction of this rental is the pristine beauty combined with privacy, including over a mile private access to the Eel river with a variety of swimming holes. Furthermore, you will find many miles of varied hiking trails, which can also be used for mountain bikes.

You will have the entire ranch available without any other guests. You may encounter ranch staff on the roads as this is a working ranch.

NOTE: Due to size of ranch there is no self-checkin. A time of arrival needs to be arranged with property manager ahead of arrival.

We can accommodate groups larger than 16 by special request. Regardless of the group size, daily rate is calculated as follows: Base rate of $1200 is for 8 guests, then add $75/day per guest for additional. Dogs allowed, $200/stay.

Gorgeous location - great for groups!

Our group of 15 just spent Thanksgiving together in this remote, beautiful place. You are surrounded by mountains, trees, trails and views. There are so many places to hang-out as a group or to get some personal space.

Our group of 13 adults and 2 kids had a great stay at the ranch house. The house is huge and comes loaded with activities for adults and kids. There was a bonus art room fully supplied (had a day bed that could be used as an eighth bedroom) and the kids room had plenty of toys that kept them busy all weekend. It feels more like 2 connected houses which allowed for some privacy. The property was fun to explore and the hosts give you access that made us feel like we were at home. We loved the industrial style kitchen that was fully loaded with all the cooking tools. The walk to the river was a bit of a journey and I wouldn’t recommend for older guests but was lovely to have private access to the Eel River. Host and property manager were very responsive.

Wonderful, completely unique experience to stay on a 1500 acre ranch. The land is incredible— think the Shire in Lord of the Rings. Amenities are perfect. You are staying in the owner’s own ranch house, so the spaces feel well thought out & cared for. Lots of little things that make a difference in a good stay— plenty of toilet paper, kitchen cookware & condiments, cleaning supplies, paper towels, etc. By the end of our trip our group was talking about when we will be coming back! Thank you!

One of our best Thanksgiving escape!

Nature pure, distant vistas, and vast space to enjoy privately. The riverscape is especially bucolic. The ranch itself has ample cooking facilities, fireplaces inside and outside, and plenty of games. Do your shopping beforehand.

Christfort Ranch exceeded all expectations. The house is incredibly spacious—much bigger than anticipated—and comfortably accommodated our group of 14. The riverfront setting is stunning and peaceful. Having a pickup truck made it easier to access the river, as the road is quite steep. The home was well-equipped with everything we needed for cooking and entertaining, and the check-in process was seamless. It’s rare to find a place that’s this spacious and comfortable for a large group (we had 14 people)—and even rarer that it lives up to the listing. This one absolutely does. We’re already hoping to return!

We had a great stay with a large group including 12 adults, 3 kids, and two dogs. The house is much larger in person than it seemed from the photos - we had plenty of space and in fact hardly used some of the space (second upstairs kitchen/family room/art room). Plenty of rooms and beds for people to spread out and have personal space. Check in was very smooth- definitely recommend 4WD vehicles if possible even to get to the main house. Fortunately, the roads were dry and we were able to take two regular sedans to the main house, but they could definitely not make the trip down to the river. When we first got there, there was an issue with the water to whole house turning off intermittently. The host and property manager were easy to communicate with and the issue was resolved within minutes. It happened twice the first night, but was fine after that. House is generally clean but not "sterile" - feels like a real home. A/C in the upstairs bedrooms is a nice addition. Things are generally in good repair, even the games, pool table, kitchenwares etc. seem well cared for and well stocked compared to other rentals. I'd highly recommend this place for a large group/family event!

The most special family weekend!

We stayed at this property for a surprise birthday/family vacation with 8 adults and two kids. It’s hard to put into words how incredible this property is. The house itself is impeccable, perfect for a large group with lux interiors and something for everyone to enjoy. The bar setup is such a fun touch and we got a huge kick out of the mic setup for family karaoke night. But even outside the house the property itself is stunning. Lots of trails to hike and private access to eel river. We also loved booking a day of a skeet shooting to end the weekend. If you are looking to make unforgettable memories with people you love in a beautiful quiet nature filled location it doesn’t get much better than this!

We have owned this property since 2001 and gradually developed it into our personal retreat for family and friends. It is our second home, and we still use it at least one weekend a month, but since there are still many weekends and holidays we are not there, it makes sense to share it with others, while helping to cover the significant costs to maintain this large property.
