We have stayed at Ada's Guesthouse several times and always had a great experience. The place is ideally located to the water park and other attractions, with a lake view from front porch. House is fully renovated historic home and always very clean and well stocked with a great host. Can't wait to stay again. Our kiddos (7 and 10 years) always love it.
Two families total 5 people shared the house while dropping kids off at BVU. Second stay and again did not disappoint. We love this house, the incredible access to everything, simple quite and communication with host is amazing.
Enjoyed extended family get together over the 4th of July weekend. House fit our needs perfectly. Added bonus..we could see the fireworks from the backyard!
The rental is a lovely older house that has been renovated with care, with spacious rooms, ample parking, in a nice quiet part of town, and is well furnished. Everything was clean, instructions were clear, and the location was perfect for us. The owners responded to any questions in a timely manner. We will definitely look at staying here again during future trips to Storm Lake.
We have stayed at this property multiple times and always had a great experience. House is fabulous, in an ideal location, and always clean and well equipped. Host is communicative and always a pleasure to work with. Plan to return sometime this spring for another great stay.
Wonderful property, well cared for. Location is great. Quiet neighborhood, even though it’s on a main street. All the charm of a 1910 home, with all the modern conveniences.

The check in and check out processes were exceptional! These were the best I have ever experienced. The house is wonderful. Our family in the area couldn't wait to see the place. The interior details did not disappoint. The location was great, neighbors were just okay.
Thank you for a wonderful place to stay. Very clean and comfortable. It had everything we needed for two days of visiting family in the area. Very much appreciated.

Thanks for making the time to give us a review, Douglas. Enjoyed hosting you!
My husband and I along with 2 siblings and good friend spent 2 lovely nights here for our grandsons graduation. The house has been beautifully remodeled so the kitchen and 2 upstairs BR are large and bright. The kitchen is well stocked with Keurig and drip coffee pots and coffee and tons of staples (spices, pancake mix, syrup). The owners live in town and are very gracious hosts. Highly recommend!

Family visit to BVU where our son will attend school in Fall 2025. Ada’s house was warm, inviting, a historic home that has tastefully been renovated with modern comfort. Very close to downtown and to campus. Check in and out were smooth, simple. Communication with host was great.
This was our second stay at Ada's Guesthouse. Both stays were an excellent, 5 star experience. Very clean and well maintained historic house that is a short walk from the lake, with a large front porch to enjoy evenings in view of lake and large front lawn for kids to play. Great communication with the owner about check in procedures and anything else. Can't wait to return! A real jewel in Storm Lake.

Thanks for your kind and generous words, Tony. Love to have you back any time!
This was a trip back in time where we felt like we were staying in my grandparents farm house. Beautiful oak stairs, entry ways, etc. updated roomy kitchen with everything we needed. Bedrooms were comfortable and spacious. Bathrooms were updated, beautiful and everything worked great for being a old home. They updated everything wonderfully without compromising the old home feel. We LOVED staying there and spending time with family while being in iowa for my Mother’s funeral. We recommend it highly and are sad that it is not available for us next year for the family reunion! Highly Recommended !!!
This property is so beautiful. It's the perfect blend of historical charm and modern amenities. Walk in the front door and you are transported back to 1910 with a beautiful entryway, parlor and dining room decorated with period antiques. The large modern kitchen is a cook's dream with double oven and ample space to prep and cook. The upstairs bedrooms are all cozy and the bathrooms are spacious and beautiful. All of this and its only a block and a half walk to the trail around the lake! I'd give it all the stars!
Amazing spacious home and perfect location to lake and college! Husband and I were there to visit our college son and watch his tennis games. My parents decided to come along at the last minute and absolutely loved it!
We’ve stayed in a lot of vacation rentals over the years for vacations and I’d have to say Ada Guesthouse hosts thought of everything! I usually pack the essentials for bathrooms, kitchen and laundry but they provided everything and more. Plus dog towels, bed and blanket!
A lot of history and antiques in this house provided lots of entertainment for my auctioneer husband and my history loving dad ☺️
Relaxing front porch sitting and nice backyard!
Thank you so much for opening your home to us! Hoping to book it again next year for graduation!

About the host
Hosted by Joanne Tucker
My husband and I have lived in Storm Lake for over 30 years. We enjoy all water sports, especially sailing. We also love to travel. Hosting guests in our guesthouse is something we really enjoy. We want people to feel comfortable and like this is their “home away from home”.
Why they chose this property
The best feature of our guesthouse is the front porch. Ada’s Guesthouse is on historic Lake Avenue and there are views of the lake from the front porch. The house was built in 1910 and we have included some vintage furniture to keep the old world feel. But the bathrooms, kitchen, and laundry rooms are all new. There is a big yard to enjoy, too. The location is fantastic! Close to the lake, parks and bike/walking trail, downtown, and Buena Vista University. So many reasons to enjoy your stay!
What makes this property unique
Ada’s Guesthouse is unique in its location, updated facilities, generous amenities, and character. You won’t be disappointed!
