Waterfront Family Bungalow on Beautiful Potts Harbor

Step out of the stress of everyday life and into this little bit of paradise. This family owned cottage is attached to the larger private home. It is located at the end of a peninsula, with water views from most rooms. A self contained, 882 square foot, two level apartment with private entrances, is the perfect solution to expensive rentals not easily afforded during the present economic climate.

Casually elegant, this recently renovated 1927 summer home is a blend of old world charm and modern conveniences. Each bedroom is lined with windows, affording views of passing lobster boats, changing tides, and gorgeous sunsets. An open concept living area and kitchenette provide all the conveniences necessary for comfortable living.

You can spend time sitting on the deck, overlooking the rocky Maine shore, or hop in the car and drive to nearby Boothbay Harbor, Old Orchard Beach, the outlet town of Freeport, or Pemaquid Point. In close proximity there are many venues for kayaking, boating, whale watches, and excursions, so you can be as busy as you please, or just idle, enjoying the cool summer breezes and breath taking water views. We are pet friendly, we do request that you click off in the reservation that you will be bringing a pet as we have a small pet cleaning fee.

So, come and see us. Take a deep breath of the fresh clean Maine air. Walk the quiet, picturesque streets, lined with beautiful old family homes, eat lots of lobster and once again, enjoy life. You deserve it!

Gorgeous, peaceful location. Enjoyed the beautiful sunset, having the windows open, and had to laugh that having a full moon actually woke us up because it was so bright once it also sets.

Eat nearby at Erica’s! (Closes for the season Oct 13)

We drove over to Pemaquid Point Lighthouse (about 90 min away but one that you can actually enter the lighthouse)

Wonderful stay and beautiful location!

We loved our stay here and just wish we could have been able to enjoy the house and location more. We were very busy at a Bowdoin reunion but appreciated the peaceful stay at this house when we needed to relax and sleep! We would love to go back to this beautiful spot!

The property is beautiful in a very quiet and secluded location. Views of the water from the unit are spectacular. The property is a fair distance away from Portland but that was clear by the location map on the VRBO web page. Not a problem, just something to be aware of. Upon arrival in early fall, the gas fireplace was on, making for a very welcoming experience. Make sure to visit the Potts Harbor Preserve just down the road.

Accommodations were clean, well maintained and appointed with everything we needed. Barbara and Ed were hospitable and helpful. We were looking for a relaxing coastal retreat, and found it in this seaside bungalow. We’re already planning for when we can return. Thank you for a lovely vacation.

Quiet and beautiful

For our girls trip to Maine, we chose this quaint rental. It was very clean, thoroughly stocked, and just what we were hoping for. The views out of all the bedroom windows were absolutely beautiful. We really enjoyed being able to walk the beach in back of the house everyday. Thank you so much, Elizabeth, for sharing your gorgeous property with us. We can’t wait to come back!

Check-in was super easy and communication was excellent! The cottage was super clean and well appointed with everything you need to cook/bathe/sleep. The view is to die for!! I can’t say enough about how gorgeous the views are both from the cottage and from the beach in front of it. I’ll be sorting my pictures for weeks I’m sure! If you are looking for a quiet and peaceful stay with gorgeous sunset views, this cottage is perfect. The only “negative” for us was the location. It is pretty out there and took quite some time to get to restaurants and stores and such. So if you’re looking for nightlife and going out, this is not the place. But if you are looking for gorgeous and peaceful views you have found the spot!!

About the host

As a child this beautiful Maine home was owned by my grandparents. Grandpa built a separate unit, which is now what we refer to as our Bungalow, so that all of his grandchildren and their families could enjoy the vacation home and he and Grandma could still keep their sanity! Growing up in this house made it a part of me, the sights and smells of the ocean, and the memories attached to them. So, in 2008, when the second generation needed to sell it, my husband and I bought it in order to maintain the family traditions.
The grandchildren are all grown now, some with grandchildren of their own but the traditions will carry on. We hope you can make some memories too, and enjoy this beautiful spot just as we do.
