About this property

Bright Capitol Hill Carriage House with Courtyard

A modern take on a historic Capitol Hill home located a stone’s throw from the Capitol and Eastern Market. Carriage house with shared courtyard, Roku-equipped TVs with DirectTV stream channel packages, ample natural light, and a steam shower. Metro accessible on the blue, orange, and silver lines, and walking distance from Eastern Market which is open most days, and a local farmers market on Tuesdays and weekends. The upper floor has an open format with the bunk bed on one side of the floor and the king bed on the other. There is not a door between the two bedrooms, but we have a collapsible divider (screen) for privacy.

No onsite parking. Street parking is free at night, but you have to move your car every 2 hours during the day.
Our prices include all fees. No hidden fees.

Great location, comfortable home

This is a wonderfully located spot that was an easy place to come home to for a few days. Comfortable bed, air conditioning great during a very hot humid DC week, and nice little kitchen.

Fabulous stay!

We enjoyed our stay at Bright Capitol Hill. It was a very convenient location, clean and quiet. The beds were comfortable and it was a quaint little place close to the Capitol. I highly recommend this place when visiting Washington DC.

Great for a family

The house was a perfect layout for our family of 4. The kids love the bunkbed! We walked to the Downtown for dinner and had a really fun time at the Sunday farmers market! Veronica was a great host and I highly recommend staying at their carriage house.

Almost perfect

This coach house really was a delight. We had one issue that took us by surprise because it was not mentioned in the listing and that was a cat has spent time in the property. My husband and son have a cat allergy. My husband's is severe. Upon arrival they both reacted and when we read about Pounce in the material provided I called Veronica right away to see if there was another property we could stay at because this would be problematic. She felt terrible and offered to have the property deep cleaned the following day. She also had bedding washed and pillows replaced. This was a huge help. Our first night there was rough but each night after was great. Moral of the story ... these are wonderful property owners who respond to our needs right away. The location was wonderful. Very convenient. Lots of lovely stores, cafes and restaurants nearby. An outdoor market on the weekend was delightful. This property is very convenient to the Metro so we used it to get everywhere we went. We would leave by 10 AM and return by 10 PM after seeing the sights. Tons of fun!

Fantastic Location!

This address is the perfect location to visit all the DC sites! It’s about a 12 minute walk through the beautiful Capital Hill neighborhood to get to the bus and Metro station. We walked, rode the busses, scooters, and Metro. Eastern Market has everything you need! We stayed in the carriage house with our two teenagers and had plenty of room. It’s bright in the morning but just helps you get an early start. Kitchen had everything we needed to cook meals, however, we frequently ate dinner at Bgrz, about 10 minute walk from the house. The owners were responsive to our questions. Don’t pass this one up!

DC carriage house

Much better than antIcipated. Need some room darling shades since Street light 40 feet from master bedroom. Location ideal for WA King the Washington Mall and seeing the museums and monuments. Right behind the Library of Congress.
