Tucked into Kachina Village among the ponderosa pines, this thoughtfully built casita was designed, permitted, and built by the property owner in 2021. It sits on a shared property with its own outdoor areas and a privately fenced backyard for dogs.
Wake up in the king bed, make a cup of coffee or tea, and head outside when you’re ready. Forest paths run through the neighborhood, with nearby access to Kachina Loop, Kelly Pocket Trail, and Pumphouse Nature Trail.
Inside, the home includes fast WiFi, a TV with Sony soundbar, a full kitchen, and a living room with a sleeper sofa for 1 to 2 additional visitors if needed. Heating and cooling come from mini split units in the bedroom and living room.
The kitchen includes cookware, dishes, a coffee maker, hot water kettle, microwave, stove, oven, refrigerator, and basic cooking essentials. There is no dishwasher or garbage disposal.
The privately fenced backyard makes mornings and evenings easier if you’re traveling with pups. There is also outdoor seating and a propane grill for simple meals after being outside. Clear nights are worth stepping outside for. The neighborhood has very few streetlights, so the stars can be easy to see.
Flagstaff weather changes quickly throughout the year. Summer evenings often cool down enough to open the windows, while winter can bring snow, muddy shoes, and slower mornings.
This is a smaller footprint place to stay near the forest, still close to Flagstaff and northern Arizona day trips. The home has a compact 40 gallon water heater, so shorter showers work best, especially when more than one person is staying.
