We had a wonderful relaxing time. It was quiet and peaceful, and a perfect getaway for the kids. The customer service was outstanding and we appreciated the warm welcome and hospitality.
This was a great place to stay in the SLV and offered a unique experience. Everyone living/working at the property was very friendly and helpful. We will look forward to staying here again the next time we are in the area.
We had a delightful stay at this super unique property. The hosts are phenomenal. Lovely people and amazing communicators, they made us feel welcome and helped us through the whole stay. If you like horses and the outdoors this really is the place to go.
If you love being out in nature and enjoying the peacefulness and beauty, then this is the place for you!
At night you can see thousands of stars in the sky and there are amazing sunrises and sunsets! The cabin we had was very comfortable and clean. We ate breakfasts at the main dining lodge, which was good. We spent time watching and petting the

Thank you for your review. We're glad to know you enjoyed your stay overall and found our home convenient. Hope to see you soon :D
We loved everything about our experience here at the ranch! We have three children, ages 10, 7, and 4, and this experience exceeded expectations for us as a family.
The entire family that hosted us was so friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The owners taught us about the culture of the area and offered advice on local places to visit. They also offered our children many experiences they wouldn’t have had at a typical vacation rental. For example, they let our children hold baby goats, bottle feed a baby goat, ride horses, etc.
We definitely plan to return and encourage everyone to come visit the ranch for a fun, off the grid experience! We will always sing the praises of this sweet place and the wonderful family who owns, runs, and lives right on the ranch.

great chance to experience ranch life and imagine yourself in the "Old West"
Staff was great. We really APPRECIATE the time and effort they made for our kids to enjoy all the animals and horse riding. Well worth driving a little out of the way to stay here if you're traveling to the Great Sand Dunes National Park or other southern Colorado areas.
I am RV Robertson the head of this gang of Cowboys and desperadoes. I am 73 years old, but mentally I don't think I ever got past 17! I have made my living almost my entire life (except for a time in the military) enjoying people. I have been a fishing and photography guide in the great outdoors and I have raised cattle and trained horses. Throughout my life I have enjoyed being a part of people's vacations and making them feel at home even when away from home.
Over three decades ago I began building the High Plains Drift Inn. My family now share my passion for hospitality and we work together to make sure our guests have a good time and get to feel a little of what it was like in the old west.
You can simply book a cabin with us for a peaceful nights rest on your way through. Due to covid many things are different now. I can not invite you into the main lodge and tell you cowboy stories all night but we can build a fire outside and roast some marshmallows and listen to my granddaughter play old cowboy songs on the guitar!
The entire family are familiar with the area and will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.
