About this property
Carbondale Mountain Home
Welcome to the Roaring Fork Valley!
Make yourself at home here! Everything you need for a fun getaway any time of the year. Our family has enjoyed living in Carbondale for many years. We hope you enjoy your stay in our beautiful valley. River Valley Ranch is at the base of Mt. Sopris with stunning views along with being surrounded by the award-winning Jay Morrish Championship Golf Course. Enjoy dinner on the patio at Homestead Grill here on RVR property. Best views in CO!
Fly Fishing is one of the top draws to our valley. With three Gold Medal fly fishing rivers, you are surrounded by some of the best fishing in north America.
The Roaring Fork which runs through Carbondale has many public access areas.
World-class skiing at 4 mountains within 30 minutes of the house. They are all part of Aspen Ski Corp, so your ticket works at any of the 4 mountains. Buttermilk (home of XGames the last week of January), Snowmass, Highlands and Aspen Mountain.
Cross Country skiing is also happening everywhere.
Rodeos run from June -August in the Valley. Carbondale features one on Thursday evening, and Snowmass has them on Friday nights.
Rafting is all around the valley from late May-August.
Farmer’s Markets are all summer in every town.
Music festivals and art fairs are all around the valley in the summer.
Horse-back and trail riding very popular spring-summer and polo is new to the valley with 4 competition fields within a mile of our house.
Many people are beginning to travel the distillery trails being created. Our town of Carbondale features the award-winning Marble Distillery. Please visit our friends Connie and Carey and belly up to the bar in their beautiful distillery on Main Street downtown. Kids and dogs are welcome. You may catch a bottling party while there.
If you are fortunate to be in Carbondale on the first Friday of every month, the entire downtown takes part in the party. Plan to eat out, shop and listen to music in the streets on First Friday’s.
There are 40 miles of bike trails that can be accessed by the Rio Grande trail. You can ride to Glenwood Springs or all the way to Aspen on the trail. Feel free to use our bikes and helmets, or there are many shops that rent equipment for the day or week.
Carbondale, Willits, Glenwood Springs and Basalt have amazing restaurants and they all are family friendly.
