The property has an incredible view. It was very clean and perfect for the two of us and our dog. The location is perfect for visiting Dillsboro and Sylva. If you have an event at Betty's Creek, this is a short drive down the mountain and up the next. We would love to stay here again.
This property is incredible. The location, views, cleanliness, responsiveness of the host, amenities. I could not be happier with out stay there. The porch alone made our stay!
This was our second stay and once again we were very happy with our trip. The views are absolutely amazing and the host is easily reached with any questions or problems. We definitely play to come back again.
We had an issue on arrival that was resolved quickly and professionally. Otherwise the cabin was clean and beautiful, with a great view from the porch. I was excited to see all the games but we didn’t have time to play them.
Nicely furnished home and very clean. The driving instructions were easy to follow. Our family enjoyed the hot tub and relaxing in the deck watching the hummingbirds. Would definitely come back!
We loved this cabin! Beautiful views and the fire pit was a hit. We enjoyed 5 nights and relaxed every single day. We visited Dollywood, Bryson City, Cherokee, Maggie Valley, and Dillsboro. In Cherokee, we had to come to a complete stop because there were about 50 Elk crossing! Great trip! I would recommend this property to everyone!!
Overall very happy with our decision to stay here. Clean, cozy and has everything you want for a fall trip. Hot tub right outside second floor bedroom with great view. Nice firepit area and east facing balcony overlooking mountains. Convenient driving distance from several nice areas such as downtown Sylva, Maggie Vally and Franklin.
Property was exactly as described in the post. Morning coffee on the porch watching the mist burn off the mountains and s'mores in the evening were a perfect way to recharge my batteries.
Loved this home. Very clean and comfortable. The location was perfect for us as we wanted to explore the Great Smoky Mountains. Close to some really good restaurants. The best was the porch… drinking coffee looking at the beautiful mountains and listening to the birds. The hot tub on the upper deck was a nice touch especially after hiking all day. Highly recommend!!
Very nice mountain home. The drive up the road to the house is steep like most of the homes in this area. The water is well water so they provide a PUR water filter in the fridge, which is great.
Can not say enough how great our stay was. The views were quite spectacular but subtle. Mornings and evenings are the best! Nice quiet area..Quick to town and groceries. Beautiful cabin with plenty of room and clean. Kids loved the hot tub and I enjoyed the break from the daily grind. Will definitely be back.

Travis was extremely polite and a good communicator in all our interactions. It was a pleasure to host his family.
Thanks, Travis, for staying.
The house was just as advertised. We loved the hot tub, wrap around porch with a grill and even a tv out there. Lots of seating on the porch, views were great, house was clean and well stocked. Great fireplace inside and fire pit outside. The host Mary was super helpful and very quick to respond if I had a question. Sylvia is close, 10-15 min drive with plenty of stores and restaurants. Highly recommend this property
We had to make last minute arrangements due to a VRBO “snafu” with another property we had rented. We struck gold by finding thIs gem. The host was extremely responsive and accommodating and once we arrived we didn’t want to leave.
The view from the huge , wrap around porch was nothing short of breathtaking, with plenty of seating to take it all in.
The beds were all super comfy and the well stocked kitchen and very nice gas grill made it easy to want to stay in and enjoy the serenity.
This will be our first choice property when we return to Sylva, hopefully soon!
The master bedroom had 40-50 ladybugs inside the bedroom. We could sleep well in that room. We found bug spray and it worked but it was awful.

I’m really sorry you had that experience. We were there just hours before you arrived, and are confident the lady bugs were not there then. We do treat for pests on a regular schedule. The house is really deep in the woods, and this time of the year, we do see ladybugs trying to get in, especially through open windows and doors. I wish you’d reached out to us, because we’re always available to remedy a situation like that right away. We’d certainly have gotten rid of the lady bugs immediately.
i was brushing my teeth first day an noticed that the water tasted weird. checked the coffe pot and noticed dried rust. i recommend checking the water system. besides that everything was fine
Our family of four had a wonderful stay at this well-appointed mountain cabin. Very clean, spacious, and breathtaking views. Great location with close access to so many great mountain towns, the Blue Ridge Parkway and outdoor activities. We hope to visit again soon.
Great cabin. My wife and daughter-in-law enjoyed exploring Sylvia and Dillsboro. My son and I fished the Tuck in Webster. Great view from the porch. Kitchen was perfect. We had a wonderful time.
The house is in perfect condition, and it's probably the cleanest place I've ever rented from Vrbo. Mary, the host, was responsive and easy to reach, and she made sure everything was right. If you decide to stay in, the house has all the amenities you could want, and if you're going out, it's close to the charming towns of Sylva and Dillsboro, and just a little further, Bryson City. I think they offer much better experiences than a tourist destination like Gatlinburg.
Just a word of advice, I had no problem getting to the house in August in a FWD sedan, but I imagine it's a different story during the winter, so get in touch with the host. Also, if you plan on using the hot tub, set the temp as soon as you get to the house and give it some time. Your patience will pay off :-)
I'm glad I chose Glenglassaugh House for my vacation!
We had a great time in this beautiful home in Sylva. Master bed was very comfortable, had everything we needed for cooking in the kitchen, thoroughly enjoyed reading/napping on covered deck in the porch swing. Amazing view! Thank you Mary for sharing your home❤️

About the host
Hosted by Mary Bridget Weisberg
We're an active duty military and homeschool family. My husband is stationed in the Washington, DC area, but when he is away, my two children and I live at Glenglaussaugh House. We're happy to share our home with guests when we aren't there.
Why they chose this property
I started coming to the Sylva area 20 years ago for pottery classes, and knew that one day I’d live here. We took out honeymoon here and several family vacations in Jackson county until about 5 years ago we saw a beautiful house online and decided to buy it. Now I consider Sylva my home, even if my husband’s career requires us to stay in Maryland much of the year. I hope you love it, too.
What makes this property unique
We own the two and a half acres down the slope of the mountain, so our year round views of the valley and mountains will never be spoiled.
