About this property

Farm Store Loft perfect after a Busy Day

Safe location for Solo Travelers !!!

Crossings is a true market farm that has been in our family for over 11 generations. While the main focus of Crossings is always to be a community farm, we love opening our home and farm to respectful visitors.

The loft is directly over our farm store and accessed by a curved staircase (please note there is NO door between the spaces). The carefully curated antiques and farm setting offers a comfy spot for someone looking for a quiet spot and unique experience.

The main floor of the Farm Store is a relaxing space and used by local and dedicated customers to Crossings from around 9:00 am until 6pm each day. Normally only 3-5 visitors come to the Shop each day, but it does serve as a the hub for the Crossings Farm Crew during the day to re-stock the farm store and fill orders. The team is super respectful of our Loft guests and does their best to maintain the privacy requests of the guests.

At 8pm our guests are allowed to pull the curtains in the Farm Store and lock the doors for a very private experience. We do request that the shared space is straighten up and the doors unlocked by 9am to allow for farm work to begin.

The main floor also houses a lovely, HOT, HOT shower with plentiful hot water supplied by an on demand Propane Hot Water heater. We do ask that you be aware that the Bathroom and Shower are located in the shared space and requests that showers and guests getting ready for their day (or as a wind down to their day) do so during the time when the Farm Store is closed.

Crossings is all about food, cooking and eating - its what we do !! We offer a kitchen sink, a few dishes and cooking implements and simple spices. You can purchase meats, and some veggies from the farm store to cook on the wood stove or the back porch (after 6pm) or in the mornings. You will LOVE the back deck grill for the clean and healthy Chicken links and Pork Chops!!

Pleasantly surprised with natural goodness
My husband and I came up for a weekend get away from the busy every day city lifestyle of work and 5 kids. We were pleasantly surprised, to find the store filled with all natural goodness in which we used for breakfast and dinner each day. Homemade bread, meats, eggs, milk, etc, were very easy to purchase and use. The store and loft was very clean and decorated very nicely. Host was in contact with us very swiftly and provided privacy. Customers and workers are around but very respectful. They even had handmade soap for us to use in the shower. We were able to have a fire outback in the evening and it was very relaxing for us to spend time together. There was a lake nearby where we went paddle boarding and we like to trail ride on our bikes, so we found a nearby bike trail. We will definitely be back to enjoy the country finery that our host provided. Thanks for your hospitality!

Peaceful
It was quite an enjoyable stay. Very quiet and peaceful. Quite nostalgic for me. Reminded me of when I lived in a log cabin in the middle of a farm. The host was considerate and helpful. Would come again.

The store building is so cute and comfortable as well as the loft/bedroom. We loved it and will absolutely be back for another stay! We purchased some sausage and pork chops and they were delicious!

We absolutely loved the Loft at the Crossings Farm. It was relaxing and beautiful. There is nothing negative about our stay. Will be staying here again when we are in that area.

A Lovely Farm Experience at Crossings
I could write a novel's worth of nice things to say about our visit to the Crossing’s Farm Store but to keep it relatively brief it was a wonderful experience! The store and loft are beautifully decorated floor to ceiling in a farmhouse style that we loved! To complete the experience, you have a great view of the farm’s pastures out back on the porch, a wonderful spot for early morning coffee and evenings looking at the stars. Be sure to grab some farm products while you’re visiting, we can highly recommend the buffalo milk gelato and lard soaps which smell amazing. The hosts are close if any problems arrive but despite that the store has a very calm and secluded atmosphere. A lovely spot for couples looking to unwind in the countryside. We would stay again in a heartbeat.

I am a mother of 6 with a career in administrative nursing. When not working at the hospital I am working with my family to grow our environmentally sustainable farm, Crossings and hosting our 2 properties. I am involved in the local Food Networks as well as the local Farmers Market. As a family we love to travel and normally incorporate our work and/or farming with travel opportunities. We enjoy quirky, out of the norm travel spots as well as lodging experiences. As a Registered Nurse I am very thoughtful around safe practices and infection prevention at our properties. We truly enjoy when our guests experience new things and become part of family by sharing your family time in our homes.

Why they chose this property

If you are looking for something unique this is perfect. Not only is it a farm stay on a true working farm, you are able to watch and see how local, boutique farms are integral to the surrounding community.

While the shared spaces might seem a little interesting at first, being thoughtful to the "open times" of the farm (from 9am until 6pm), this allows for easy and enjoyable trip out to Crossings.

The farm sounds (Richard the Rooster, clucking laying hens, morning song birds, the occasional Coyote and Farm Dog, as well as the hustle of farm hands) lends to the true farm experience.

While we are not open to farm tours at this time or 1:1 farm experiences, just sitting on the back deck in the rocking chairs gives you a window to an otherwise very private world of family farming.

What makes this property unique

The unique benefits of staying on a family farm include the rural and quiet setting as well as the community feel.

Most interesting is the ability to see where and how our animals are raised and to purchase our farm products right below the loft in the main Farm Store. You can enjoy an easy and healthy meal from the top of the wood stove or the back deck grill.

By staying in our loft you are assisting as part of our farm and farm community sustainability. All of the proceeds from the loft pay the salaries of our our area high school and high school teacher team that help us maintain the farm.
