Peaceful Lakefront Cottage

Lacus Vitae is our family’s happy place and we want to make it yours as well! Here you’ll find a newly remodeled lakefront cottage that allows you to truly enjoy all that Lake Waccamaw has to offer. Lake Waccamaw is the largest of the natural Carolina Bay lakes with a perfect pH.
Our lakefront home is located 39 miles west of Wilmington and only 35 minutes off I-95. Lake Waccamaw State Park is 6 miles away where you will find trails to hike and learn about the plants and animals that are only found in or around the lake, the boat landing is a mile from the house and the pier is right out the backdoor where you can sip coffee as you watch a beautiful sunrise or sit back and relax. Let us make our home yours, take a vacation and relax.

Perfect place to get away for a quiet weekend. Beautiful scenery just sitting in the house looking out or sitting on the dock. Enjoyed watching the ducks, turtles, and even gators (in the canal across the street). Definitely on our list of return getaways.

Lovely stay. The little home is beautiful. The view is beautiful. Comfy master bed. Everything was clean. R was lot fabulous spot. The canal across the street has alligators. A fun time. My only negatives were for someone that is not agile, the home is very steep. When walking through the house you are on quite the slant. The showerhead has hardly any water pressure coming from it. Wish I had brought some kayaks. Great time.

This is our favorite place to stay! Repeat guests! We love it! The view is outstanding! We spend a lot of time sitting on the dock admiring the beauty! We did notice a few minor issues like the back door feels like it is falling off the hinges, a few lights don’t work, and the ceiling fans are loose. But we definitely will be back again though !!
